      doesnt mean that its true or that the writers of spongebob intentionally did it. The only way I watch these videos is ironically. skepticism and agreeing whether or not a spongebob theory is accurate is besides the point, theyre all goofy and far-fetched. i think it's worth mentioning the orb of confusion also present in Mermaidman and Barnacleboy 3, which is mentioned to permanently leave you confused if you use it for too long. running with this theory, it's likely that the orb of confusion is how Patrick was able to repress his supervillain side. we see him acting like the orb is still on despite it being off at the end of the episode, with SpongeBob being perfectly okay in spite of actually having been touching the orb for longer (seemingly implying that Patrick is just like that, rather than the orb doing anything to him). since his default state is the same as when the orb of confusion is on, it's likely that the orb of confusion would be either purposefully and accidentally used by Patrick for long enough to leave him permanently dumb in this theory.

    tbh this theory really does make sense. I think it's not just because of how concise the video is it is something I like more than the typical X character is actually evil theories which I usually don't like because they really do reach and therefore make the video longer. It also doesn't make Patrick reprehensible which is a big plus to me since most theories that make the character evil *do* frame the character as beyond redemption. Thanks for this video to be the exception to the rule.

  • @Crow_Rising
    @Crow_Rising 2 місяці тому +5

    I don't know if this was actually intended by the writers, but I do like the idea that Patrick only seems stupid because he's constantly somehow repressing his own memories to keep himself in check. Holding himself back from his true potential to avoid becoming the worst version of himself out of a genuine desire to do good, or at least to live a normal life. This would also explain why what "flavor" of stupid he comes off as can change from episode to episode. Because he's repressing his own memories, he forgets why he's repressing them and only continues to do so out of habit. When he starts to enjoy himself doing something, he stops repressing his memories in the same way for the sake of making the most of whatever activity he's involved with that is bringing him joy until he does something that brings him regret and he finally resets himself back to his "normal" state of repressed memories.
    If it were true, it would also say something about his friendship with Spongebob. Aside from the general identities of those around him, the fact that Spongebob is his best friend is the only thing he stubbornly clings to as a consistent fact in the forefront of his mind, never to forget. It's incredibly important to him, and could even be the reason why he's repressing his other memories to begin with. This would mean he values his friendship with Spongebob so strongly that he's actively rejecting whatever parts of himself could put that friendship in danger. Perhaps his deepest fear is the idea of Spongebob rejecting him, leaving him all alone? It does seem as though the preservation of this specific friendship is his biggest motivating factor to giving up power when he has it.

    This could be a great way to explain why Patrick has two sets of parents in the episode where Spongebob pretends to be stupid.
    The older-looking pair (Janice and Marty) were the parents of the original Patrick, and had to be reminded “we don’t have a son” since the original was defeated and probably presumed dead. The older age range would match with the older/original version of Patrick.
    The younger parents who show up at the end of the episode were probably his adoptive parents who raised Patrick after his defeat and watched his younger/newer self grow up alongside Spongebob

    What about that one episode from The Patrick Star Show where SpongeBob and Patrick manipulated Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy and their various villains to become heroes/villains while they were babies?
    You should also look into The Patrick Star Show for more evidence for this theory (maybe in a part 2).

    • @Squirreled_Studio

      Maybe I’ll follow up on this if I can find anything interesting or new. But I think Patrick is an ex-villain who’s mostly reformed and good now, so I’m not sure what else I can add to this theory. I will keep that in mind though, so thanks!

    • @MontyMoleLoreMaster
      @MontyMoleLoreMaster 3 місяці тому +4

      @@Squirreled_Studio Patrick has caused a lot of murder and crimes in his spinoff show, such as murdering numerous sentient food people (including attempting to murder numerous citizens in Hamodia on at least two occasions so far, with the first occasion not only having Patrick show no remorse for it, but even telling the Hamodians to jump into his mouth in an attempt to eat them. In an episode from the second season, Patrick literally ATE HIS OWN FATHER while he was applying for a job as an ice cream), showing that his gluttony can cause him to do very horrific things.
      Speaking of gluttony, it is shown in The Patrick Star Show that Patrick’s obsession with ice cream was so extreme that not only will he do anything to obtain ice cream (such as attacking a sentient ice cream cone guy twice who only wanted to be a part of the show), it is even shown early on that Patrick’s ice cream obsession lead to him giving trauma to that one Goofy Goober worker to the point that he actively will try to not serve Patrick unless there is no other choice.
      What do you think about this?

    in the Patrick Star show he had a moustache belonging to an evil relation of his that turns him evil so I think Mermaid Man is actually remembering that relative and not Patrick also to boot he has an evil doppleganger cousin called Fitzpatrick in the show so evil is in his blood.
