Her parents are smart. This is the best way to parent a teen. In other words, "pick your battles". This is just hair, it will grow back. If they want to cut it, let them. If they want to color it purple, let them. This could be the compromise so your child doesn't go out and do something risky or permanent. I've had my hair every color in the rainbow.
As a parent it’s always been my motto and always think about what you say especially during the teen years. Always think could this be the last thing I say to them and try to be kind.
Agreed! I don’t have kids but this is what my parents did with me and I always felt when they said “no” to something it was in all fairness.
I always said this. My mother wouldn’t let me wear jeans because jeans were meant for the fields.. it went on from there. I let my kids play with their hair.. not quite like this lol but like you said.. it’s just hair!

Oooohhhh i just realized why her mom said "not today." She probably realized she was having a manic episode and knew she was impulsive. Tried giving her leeway with the "just a bit," but idk why she thought she was in the headspace to listen. Either way, she did a really good job!

I did this while having a mental breakdown once after a traumatic experience. Had really long hair and cutted it to a length of about 5 cm. With a razor blade.

I still find it a miracle that she ended with something passable given the premises (I saw her video before). As you say, close up it will be a mess but it's watchable, not like some of the hair fail you show sometimes.

I had hair to my butt, had suicidal thoughts/depression due to a close friend passing away....so I ended up getting a buzzed cut. I felt free. I was mistaken for a dude again but I didn't care.
Munequita86 I’ve done that too. I was asked if I was a lesbian. I’m bisexual but eh. I shaved my head and was put in a mental health facility. Eating disorder/self harm/suicidal thoughts/dissociation. It did feel good to buzz my hair off

I shaved off my waist length hair at 18 because my family always said “women need to have long hair” and I hated it. They were, needles to say, VERY angry but since I was 18, what could they do? Ground me? As I got older I had some hair fails and shaved it off another 4 times because I wasn’t too attached to my hair. Now I’m growing it out again and I’m hoping to get it back to waist length. So far it’s shoulder length at the moment. 😁

She's freaking me out. I took a lot of different psych meds as a kid due to a muchausens by proxy situation and some of the times I had reactions like this to them, especially the stimulant meditation.
I worked with traumatized children and teens before and her behavior gives me work vibes. I wonder, what she has been through, to act this way. But her hair turned out very beautiful. It inspirated me last year to go for a pixie cut, too. :-D

Not everyone who is like this was going through bad things. I know a lot of people who are like her. I am a kind like this. And we all just have ADHD. And she seems to be in the puberty. This is not something unnormal.
@@dariustamatus2336 I agree. As someone with adhd and that excitement. She’s definitely still in puberty which messes with your mind as is. She’s totally fine just enjoying herself. Doing hair is fun! I always have fun whenever I dye or bleach my hair

I still have got ADHD now that I'm an adult obviously, but for many people it is especially strong when they're teenagers. Especially considering that this is during quarantine.
Nothing to be particularly worried about, as long as it doesn't stop her from achieving a "functional" level.

As a daughter of a BPD mother: she’s totally having a manic phase, -the random, racing thoughts-it’s borderline psychotic. So sad to see a young lady with an episode 😔 I wish her the best when she grows older. She’s a cutie.
It's impossible to diagnose a serious mental health disorder from a video in less then 10 minutes, by a professional or otherwise...
Mania can be a symptom of many mental health disorders...ADHD, Bipolar, etc....
But I don't see mania when I watch this, I see a happy young girl excited about life.
I was thinking about individuals that are so happy and the next think you know they are gone. I hope she is just really hyper but she's very reckless with the scissors like she doesn't care if she hurts herself but i hope she doesn't think she can hurt herself.
BPD is borderline personality disorder. People always try to use it for Bi polar and it drives me mad 😂 Bi polar is short as it is, please just say Bi polar
@@AK-jk7co I have to agree. I have bipolar disorder and I just see a young girl being very silly for views. Not even sure if she's having fun I think she's very smart. It's this type of thing that people click on to see. I'm sure that she has her own UA-cam channel and I could tell by the way she asked her mom that her mom was well aware of what was going on. I especially agree with you though about diagnosing people on a small piece of video because they're transferring their illness or someone close to them on to another person.

"Hair salon is expensive"... Heck yes... I have long, rather healthy, 100% natural hair that requires some trimming from time to time and I find it totally REVOLTING to go in and being told that I'd need to pay almost 100$ for 4 or 5 scissor clips. I do not want a balayage, no "dégradé", no styling... Just make a straight line. My mom did it for me 6 months ago and it went like "click, click, click", ok, done.

I paid someone in Milwaukee, WI to cut my hair for my birthday. I had a Narcissist hairstylist. I left with the wrong cut, wrong color, horrible experience. It was my first time getting a long pixie cut. I've now bought everything to color, cut, and buzz my own hair. Before this I had cut off my hair that was down to my butt. I've cut my hair before and I currently trust myself over hair stylist. I hope this video helps.
