Tip #6- be prepared to hate longer hair after getting a pixie. Not sure I can ever go back honestly.
can confirm
I truly truly feel this way sometimes.. I've cut my hair twice to keep it short since buzzing my hair off✨🍃... sometimes I FEEL like I miss long hair.. and even have dreams that my hair had grown back.. but in the dream where I have my hair grown out, I always feel inadequate, weak, unhappy, insecure internally... and I wake up reminded that I still need healing in that area of my life. What has been ingrained in me by folks around me growing up including my parents about what and how beauty should look on a feminine woman... then I look at older photos of myself and
I don't recognize her.
With my short hair, I feel in my Power and Unique and not so focused on the unnecessary superficial bullshit women be worrying about. but on some days I am feeling Weak, I do honestly fall victim to Old conditionings and feeling like I need to have longer hair again. But I dread the thought of what I had to deal with with having longer hair and remember saying all the time "I JUST WANT TO SHAVE ALL MY HAIR OFF!" ...and so I finally did.. and it took some time getting used because of rotten society but DEEP inside I felt like SUPERWOMAN. Seriously! And showers.. omg... Bliss. Freedom! Running my fingers through... nothing! Ahhh I Love that feeling!
And society's judgements and standards will never outweigh the Freedom and Wisdom and Humility and Compassion that came from shaving my hair. And now I can just truly work on Loving Me from inside out. And not chain mySelf to my hair. And until I Know for sure I have overcome [most] of the insecurities I have/had pertaining to my hair and societal beauty standards, I will keep my hair short. As a Reminder. Of the Warrior within.
@@thegreensun4944when my hair is short i have dreams of long flowy hair too 👀 so strange. I have to shower often because of oily hair type, and my head is tender so I hate brushing (even with specific non-tugging brushes meant for fine hair). Short hair is best for me & I recommend women to try on wigs first, it really helps.
I AM AT THIS STAGE
Sis, it's been six months for me and I've just accepted I'm going with wigs if I want it longer for the style 😂
Joining the pixie cut sisterhood made me so happy, i didnt realize it was a thing until i started getting happy every time i saw another pixie girly 😊
Same 😢❤❤❤❤
yesss it's so cute to see other pixie girlies
😆 it’s definitely a thing, it’s so Cool and I love it!!
I am a cancer survivor. My hair is starting to grow. I am enjoyig the haircut.
I went from past my butt curly locks to a pixie with an undercut. The tears I shed on my first day of bed head, I could have filled a pool but after a little deep breathing, a micro misting spray bottle and some pomade, I discovered all the sassy ways I could style my hair in under 5 min. I still can’t believe I cut my hair off but I’ve not regretted it one moment since!
Pixie-cut sisterhood, I am now among you. ♥️
I recently got my hair cut to super short pixie from butt length. I had never had hair shorter than waist length before but I finally got it done and wish I had it done years ago. It's not exactly low maintenance as I have it cut every two weeks and the undercut reshaved. It feels great and I have no regrets or plans to grow it again. If anything I may have a full buzz cut this summer.
so happy for you!!
Omg same. I had hair down to my knees and went straight to a buzz cut. I regret not doing it sooner.
I got my pixie cut today and I've had one once before but I'm not sure how I feel I grew it out for 4 years because someone thought I was a boy and for me that hurts because I'm very proud of being female so I grew it out and now I'm scared in public I feel like people are starring at me any tips to make feel more comfortable would be very much appreciated and I do like having short hair
Dress really girly ALL the time, Full makeup skirts and dresses at all times because short hair is a very feminine thing, Keep your hair eye catchingly short
@@teriday954 but that's not really my style I do sometimes dress more "feminine" but it's not really all the time
The pixie-cut sisterhood is definitely a thing!
Shorter the better
I keep thinking about getting a pixie cut
It's funny how I felt super confident right off the bait, pixie just seems to be MY hairstyle hehe It felt great from day 1 and I couldn't stop smiling when I saw the mirror 😭
I am going in for my third cut to get to a pixie! It’s my way of breaking myself into the short hair! I’ve gone from a bob to a bixie now a pixie
got a pixie cut today :) the difference has been jarring to say the least, but it’s definitely growing on me!! i’ve always found pixie cuts so mesmerizing on other women so it feels like i was meant to end up with one eventually hahshsh
Hi sista. What’s the update on your pixie cut now?
@@theredpencil2564 hi!! i still got my pixie, and i’m loving it more than ever :) it’s genuinely been so good for me in all aspects, and i’m so happy that i gave it a shot. never going back!
@@bornonthecob2522 that’s awesome!! ❤️ I’m a newly pixie girl and I love it as well. Thanks for the reply I appreciate it
@@theredpencil2564 and thank you for asking! have a lovely day
TYSM I totally feel the first part
After every haircut I feel like I’ve made a horrible mistake but after a few days it grows on me and I love it again
Still learning how to style and stuff but I love pixie cuts and short hair in general
Number three oh my gosh number three!!! I have bleach blonde hair and I think Rod Stewart when I look in the mirror as I’m weeks overdue for a cut 😂
Love my short hair 😍
I cut my own pixie a few weeks ago. I used thinning shears, barber scissors, a comb and two mirrors. Refined it over a few days.
Cut my hair into a pixie and never had so many compliments since ❤
Oh my goodness! The Pixie took years off me. And it’s relatively easy to cut a pixie yourself. You just need the right tools and know what sort of pixie will best suit your face. You can buy shavers.
I like some hair in the back, but I keep it close under the longer bit at the top back with chunking scissors, but those hair line pieces will make the shorter hair stand out as the back starts to grow out and so I undercut those three areas with a shaping razor so the cut lasts longer. (I have a longer fuller bit at the back top because my head is flat there and so the longer hair makes my head appear to have a normal shape.) I undercut the sides and back with simple scissors and blend the whole thing with the chunking scissors cause it’s easier and it’s hard to point cut the sides of my head.
Chunking scissors can also make for a quick hair clean up at the ears and back of the head (maybe a trim around the back of the ears with regular scissors) and the all over cut lasts two months instead of two weeks or one month.
Honestly, it’s hair. Watch videos. Start slow to learn how to use the various scissors and razors, and build your confidence and then go for it.
thank you so so much for the clippers tip, my pixie looks much better now.
i lovvveeee your hair omgg, i wish i could cut myself a retro pixie but i have sad straight flat hair lol
This "pixiehood" thing is crazy cuz I've never seen or came across another girl with a pixie cut 😢 Im missing out!
I had a shaved head for years and then life got busy, and I let it grow past my shoulders and now I have no idea what to do with it. It was box-dyed black and maroon, but now my blonde roots are coming in real nice. The one thing I haven't done with my hair in 10 years is let it be long and blonde blonde so I think that's what I'm gonna do! I've come around full circle 😂
My advice cut it short and keep it short. You will feel better
I wish I had seen this video last year. You're correct in everything you said, and I love my pixie! I just cut it again.😊
You look amazing with a pixie!
I love how your so confident with it x I had cancer and lost all of my hair and now it’s the same length as you I’ve been wearing wigs but seeing how you style yours i will try some 😘 thank you 🎉
I just did a pixie. I'm 74, but everyone telling me I look 10 years younger!
I've had short hair now for 13 years. 12-24 I've grown it out here and there but have always went and got a pixie. I've had all kinds of pixies. Super short and now mine is like kinda shaggy. When I wear a pixie I feel more confident and comfortable.

I tend to stick with a diet and try to lose weight when I have my hair short.
I cut my hair for the new year once again since the birth of my daughter and I'm stuck at 160 pounds I want to get healthy and be happy in my new body and hair again.
It's a struggle sometimes I get called a boy a lot.
But weirdly enough I feel way more feminine with short hair.
I just got my pixie cut yesterday. I ho for the same style everything. The woman verbalized to me exactly what I wanted to let me know she understood. However, it is nothing like what I showed her and how she verbalized it to me. Thank God hair grows. But my hair is slow growing. This will be a process. I usually have more length in the front, giving me a softer appearance. I do not think I've processed it yet.
This is the reason why I cut my own hair.
What you mentioned is my entire childhood haircut experience.
They act like they want to do what you want.
They do not do what you want they do whatever they want to to your head.
What time, I wanted a angled bob that is longer in the front. The lady confirmed my choice several times while she was cutting my hair.
I get up from the chair and I look like the mom off of The Brady bunch. Bro, like that same haircut I had as a child.
I got made fun of so much that year because of that stupid haircut.
I was traumatized I guess because every haircut experience is just like this that I've ever had.
I'm glad it's not just me. In your comment also made me feel better about chopping off all my hair by myself. Thanks
At times I was tempted to cut my hairstylist hair ….. after she didn’t listen to me at botched my hair…just to get even 😂
Girl you look espectacular amazing pixie
Everyone is different. When I first cut my hair into a pixie at 22 I never felt more like myself! I wish I had done it years earlier. My tip is to invest in a pair of clippers and thinning shears so you’re not feeling like you have to go in every six weeks for a trim. I learned how to cut my hair myself because every time I would get a cut I would always have to fix it to my liking and that usually meant cutting the sides and back super short. I’ve been cutting my own hair for about ten plus years and I go maybe once every year or two just to try it out but I still never end loving it but I’m super picky and I know a good cut vs a bad one. If they can’t even follow a guide I know I’ve just wasted money again. My other tip would be if you’ve never had short hair go for a long pixie( long front and short sides and back) so you don’t end up hating it, if you love you can always go shorter next time!
These are all excellent tips! Thanks for sharing.
First pixie at four and kicked the hairstylist!!😂 Now at 55 I tried again and you are right I’m actually not ready to show anyone so I wear a wig 😂😂 It’s like my cool chick secret 😂😂😂
I have a round face, I want a pixie, what look would I go for ? You’re awesome with your styles.
Thank you so much for this. I’ve had the pixie during the panini after having long hair during my whole life. I let it grow out nearly 2 years ago because of peer pressure (also because I wanted to see if I liked it long since my hair style is changing from straight to wavy). Now I feel confident to try the pixie cut again. You’re also right about once going pixie then you’ll never like growing it long again. 🙈 ❤
Proud of you for finding what you love & going after it
I'm planning on getting a pixie cut in a couple months but only because my hair is thick to the point of giving me a headache
My advice is get it cut super short and enjoy having all that weight off
KNOW your hair type before you get one. I had a pixie many years ago when I got engaged. It was about your length but because my hair is thick and coarse, I would wake up looking like a baby chick (as my husband said) and it required plenty of product or it would puff up too much. Recently I got a long pixie and I re-discovered the same problem. I can't just up and go or I look something like Sophia from the Golden Girls.
I needed this. Today, my hair is officially as short as yours. ❤
Really Cute 🥰!!❤
i’ve had short hair for almost 9 year, so i wanna change my hair, trying different hairstyles was my goal for this year but now My hair is past my chin & i just wanna cut it short 😂
i never related to another person more! thank you for making this vid i thought this was just me!
Strange after I cut my hair- I felt so feminine and sexy about myself
I'M SO HAPPY I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH EXTREMELY MESSY HAIR IN THE MORNING LIKE THE BACK IS ALWAYS STANDING UPWARDS LIKE SOME MF ANTENNAS
You look amazing with a pixie. Stunning and different than lady Godiva locks.
I love your pixie cut
i did a buzzcut and im struggling to let it grow 😂
This is wonderful advice! ❤❤❤✂️✂️✂️
I had a pixie, longer than yours, years ago. 2014. I remember it actually taking more effort in the mornings than when it was long. I’m feeling the strong pull to pixie again and I’m wondering if I just need to go shorter. Man, to not have pain on my head from pulling my hair back daily (which is what I do now) would be amazing
My advice is go short, if you like it go shorter and keep it short, sounds like you're ready,
@@teriday954 oh, I did lol. I went shorter for my recent cut. Not sure if I like it this short so we’ll see what I do next!
@@Lauren.Wagstaff I bet it felt great getting it cropped short, if it feels good and looks good then maybe you should keep it short, How long was it?
@@teriday954 it was past my shoulders. It feels good. I’m not in love with the look. Some days I like it more than others. Everyone says it looks great. I’m still not sure if it’s for me though, and that’s what I care about most. I’m thinking now of growing it out to a bob
I'm happy with mine short. Long hair was nice, but I won't be growing mine back.
You strike me aa a gamine-retro-romantic type. Quite a hybrid, and it all works beautifully together.
I actually prefer no clippers on myself, although clippers looks good on you xx
I am happy that exist a pixie sisterhood❤ you say tihngs ther are so truth, what to dress with pixie cut😂😂,everthing change for good. Same years ago woman with short hair, the people say short hair are for man not woman, but a i am happy that the minds and people are changing. I cut my hair short pixie and i love it❤❤❤❤❤❤. I want that this pixie sisterhood get biger and biger❤❤🎉🎉
This is great advice!❤️ I cut my hair off to a pixie cut for the first time back in December 2022, before I cut it my hair was halfway down my back and then I cut it really short (basically as short as you can go but without shaving anything), I did have some side bangs tho, down to my eyes. I was very happy that I did it and didn't feel to insecure. Then I let the hair grow out to neck length/almost shoulder length until I went to let my hair cut again 2 days ago. Now it's really short, like the shortest I have ever had, shaved on the side and the back of my head and a little longer at the top, but not longer than like 5 cm ish. And it looked really good after I came from the barbers shop, but after my first shower it looked really crazy and made me quite insecure about it😭 I'm still happy that I cut my hair off, but also struggling a bit to feel confident, especially when I have to style it myself 😅
My advice is keep it really short and take ownership of short hair and the incredible feminity that comes with it
@@teriday954Thanks!
Right on
Thank you ✨
I just got a pixie after only going for bobs the past 10 years. And having long hair before that... It's not my first becaue I had a pixie cut at 12 😆 There is a learning curve to having a pixie. But I'm figuring it out.
I’m seriously considering getting a pixie. I am a soccer referee and I just don’t have time for my shoulder length bob. I’ve had it chin length and that was worse management wise but I liked the feel.
Thanksyouloveverymuch❤
I just got my pixie cut today and I don’t know if I love it or hate it😣
Asked for a wolf cut got a pixie 💀 (idk it might just be because my hair was shoulder length and there was no way in hell I could get a GOOD wolf cut with that length
I don't look greasy in the morning anymore! I am freed from the oily scumbag look. 😂 All my hair looks the same now root to tip. The product disguises the grease for one day.
It's cute though
My experience my hair grow back faster I did to make it same length
❤
What r clippers?
I just got my pixie cut today/ yesterday and I've had one once before I didn't get anything shaved and idk how I feel I'm very insecure and I've been growing my hair out for the past 4 years because someone thought I was a boy and for me hurts because I'm very proud of being female so I grew it out for a year but I wasn't very happy until I got bangs but that wore off pretty quick and I feel like short hair is me but idk I always feel like people are starring at me and I'm uncomfortable idk tips for being more comfortable would be very much appreciated
Laugh at somebody, who named you a boy! You are a woman in every hairstyle uou want! I'm sure you look great in your pixie!😊
awh tysm@@barbarellla1553
Did you ask to trim the sides with the clipper as well ?
I've made a mistake and didn't ask for trimming the sides😢
Ps: we have the same cut!
So why you have long hair on the picture?
That’s cos the front is too short so it’s more shocking to your familiarity. If the fringe was longer it looks more familiar !
You look like Selena Gomez
You look JUST like Selena Gomez
Yes hairdresser cut my top way too short like a man’s cut n it sucks so letting it grow while I trim the sides ugh wtf?!????!? Does my one in Tampa frikin know how to really cut a cute pixie n take time to show how to style so it’s not just on one side or look electrocuted?!??! Wtf?!?!
Grew my pixie out. I am not a lover of pixies.
etc, but I love all the Pixies Hair cuts! By the way I'm a Cosmetologist since 1975! And I'm admired all the girls that have the guts to cut the hair in a Pixie look!!!
Clippers better, otherwise rat tails, duck tails ugh …. N texturizing jeeez I don’t get it
You didntake the right decision. You just needed a month or two to develop Munchausen's syndrome.
Really? Crying over a haircut??? Ridiculous
how is it ridiculous?
I'm 72 years old, and back to the Hippie years everybody has long long hair, then I cut my hair, my first Pixie hair cut! All my friends were so afraid of cut theirs hair I didn't, I was feeling great, beautiful and invincible strong!!!! I was 16 years old at that time, with a beautiful long long hair and beautiful face!!! I realized that I'm not my hair , I'm myself , I'm me!! Since then I had all the colors on my hair, all the hairs cuts on my hairs, all the styles, long hair short hair medium hair
You look like Selena Gomez
