You're absolutely right. Just watch rig rundown videos of Mike Campbell and Tom Petty talking about why they have several different guitars and amps. They all capture different tones that they specifically use for certain songs.
Agree.. ppl say tone is in the fingers but that's a big lie... I'd say tone is about 70% amp and cab, 20% guitar and then 10% fingers... fingers actually don't shape your tone that much, they shape more your intonation, which is different. Just listen to some GnR demo versions of songs from the Appetite for Destruction album on Spotify when Slash used to play with crap amps and a BC Rich guitar, his tone sucks, most of those demos and live performances sound like shit...what made his Appetite tone was his modded Superlead paired up with his handmade "Gibson" Les Paul... even if you listen to his more recent albums he can't even replicate that sound anymore, his tone nowadays sounds way more polished and modern.
Bud, don't pay attention to the haters that don't know jack, your only losing yourself to their level. Keep up with sharing the amazing sounds and tones you discover and dirty the hate, it will always be there because they can't do what you can. Keep on the hard rockin' and focus on the positive so you can share that light with all of us!!!
Awesome stuff! Would love to hear an emulation of Glenn Tipton and K. K. Downing's set up for Judas Priest's British Steel album, or Scott Gorham and Snowy White's set up for Thin Lizzy's Chinatown album.
What abgreat comparison!!!! Any REAL guitar play should know, tone and a combination of technique is what its all about! I with you brother!!!! It ALL matters!
Yeah whoever left that comment is seriously misinformed , i can plug the same rig into several different cab and speakers and get quite a different result.
Hi. Thanks for all videos you make. It help a lot. Hope to see guide about Jason Becker tone. For solo tone his composition - When You Wish Upon a Star, and for the rithm - Dand see of Samsara. I ask a lot people who play covers but no one answer me.
I always heard the “tone is in the fingers” thing and thought:”why the specific amps, pedals, pickups, speakers, strings and guitars if tone is in the fingers?” Signature gear wouldn’t exist. Everyone would play the same stuff because the fingers would make it sound unique. Everyone knows it to be false, or else things like ‘59 LPs and Dumbles wouldn’t be worth what they are. They’d just be old gear. Even EVH didn’t play his homemade guitar on every song on every album.
@ToneChaser29 Pleasure dude, loving your content pal! Just when you thought you had the Axe mastered, low and behold, another tone genius ( You Sir! ) just comes up with more ways to screw with my head!!! 🤣🤣 Thanks for all you do buddy, your time, effort and expertise is much appreciated 👏 🤘
I dunno. I heard something about a jackass having something to do with it somewhere along the line but I couldn't quite figure it out myself. I guess that's why I'm still a terrible guitar player
your exactly right but of course no body is going to agree with use about that but if you play shit you sound like shit . that's why there guitars are 2 and 3 thousand dollars hell look at Phil Collen of def leopard set up he has a freaking thousand dollar Floyd rose set up that's just on his bridge because he says it sounds so much better . a freaking titanium block that's $500.00 people would not chase tones if it did not matter the people who say it is all in the fingers have given up on finding the tones. now that's just my opinion. but i think you have hit them tones so freaking close you can not tell the difference. great videos and keep them coming
It's all in yhe strings tuning and pickups bro, tonewood is bullshit, neck gap is bullshiy, it's all electronics, pickups, strings, and the player, the end.
Your Slash tone is fuckin spot on man!
Thanks brother
Who else thinks the zakk Wylde Bohemian Rhapsody tone sounds better than the original solo
Hahaha 🤣👊

i would love to see you trying to catch the tone of "Beautiful death" by Wintersun. Has such a heavy and interesting tone to a telecaster.
Never actually heard of it that I remember, but I'll definitely check it out reaper 👊

It's weird really, it's like once one person leaves a comment like that, others see it and start leaving the same comment.

Maaaaan that sweet child tone is on poiiiint - and every other one but I'm obsessed with guns 😂

Yes you can get close, but it IS in the fingers.

You definitely have some good points.
I love the sound of different speakers and pedals because they are cheaper than a Boss-1000 pedal board!!!!!!!!
tone is a combination of things in my opinion.
the player, the gear, and the song.
some only have 1 or two and some lucky bastards have all 3.
Excellent examples of all the B.S out there dude! 😂 Should keep a few neigh sayers stum for a bit!! Cheers Bro 🤘
Haha, thanks Adey👊👊👊
