Thank you very much for this wonderful video. It was a wonderful day when we met in this club in Zaatari camp. I hope that this video will be the focus of everyone's attention and help these children and youth to overcome the difficulties.
Indeed. It is surprising how much governments spend on all kinds of methods to get influence in the world, when something comparably small which is essentially an act of kindness can present a nation from the most favorable side. This also reminds me of what an Ukrainian literature professor said about the wasted opportunity to present Ukraine as a cultural nation before the Russian invasion. Books and movies might seem insignificant especially in comparison to US pop culture, but they allow to present one's identity and define it for an audience.
I ignore your videos for a while sometimes. I think I almost cry or do cry a little by the end of almost every single one. I've learned to really appreciate it, no other media leaves me in the same place afterwards. But it means that I save them for when I know I will be most receptive to the story and vulnerable. What you make is a special kind of art. I dunno what to call it.
Evan's videos are stories, moments and importantly the connections of people throughout all of time. I think unlike news or tales and legends, it's not cherry picked and there is no agenda behind them other than the story being told. There always heart and humanity at the centre of every tale. As for what to call it, simple... this is Rare Earth.
We find that usually our videos take about 2-3 years before they get their true viewership. They're hard to watch, and hard to digest. I'm happy when you visit, how you visit, on your own time and desire. Appreciate you!
It took me around a month to work up the courage to watch the FGM episode. You know from the title it's going to be a rough ride, and of course it was, but it's also a story that needed telling.
That is exactly how I feel! Evan tells stories that just touch me in a way no other videos do and with such consistency too. I remember when I first started watching the channel I wanted to binge it to get to the latest videos (there were 50ish rare earth videos) but then had to drop it because I'd be sobbing and be so lost in thought for a few days. I hope he keeps making these videos. These stories are meant to be heard.
I'll join your comment. These videos are a special mix of love, hope, and empathy that you can't find anywhere else. Writing this as my tears dry after watching this video.
@@sparklesparklesparkle6318 That was a joke dude, and come on, the thought of you in Indonesia rolling up to a group of gay dudes all screaming like teenage girls and handing out autographs doesn't tickles you even a little bit?
For as much as we (rightly) bash the modern internet and all its nonsense, it’s really important to remember how much of an impact a connection to the outside world can have. I think this demonstrates that perfectly.

You have to understand that tech is just a tool. Tools can be used to build or they can be used to destroy. Sadly there are many that use it destructively..
Agreed. Bo Burham was right to be cautious about the negative effects of the internet. Everyone should be made clear about the danger of misinformation. However, we're all still here because it's the single most useful and impactful change to our life.
Lovely message. This made me smile and feel warm at heart. I get emotional just thinking about how much these Syrians go through, just to get a sense of a normal life. Thank you for sharing.
This video really strikes me to my core. I lived in Syria before the war and it's soul-crushing to see people still living with the consequences of something they have no control over, that I was fortunate enough to have escaped from over a decade ago. To think that people I went to school with in the 2nd grade have had to endure displacement, death, and destruction while I was able to go on to live a relatively normal life is incomprehensible and infuriating. it just makes no sense to me, why the kids I played marbles and soccer with have been condemned to such a bleak existence when I wasn't. Their intentions, thoughts, and cultures are not too different from our own, and yet this is what hundreds of thousands of people have to live with. Our political zeitgeist puts more focus on who is to blame than actually focusing on helping others when we have the capacity to do so. Is another luxury football stadium really necessary, when that money could go to bettering the realities of people who haven't had anything good in their lives other than Taekwondo and UA-cam for the past 12 years? And of course, the longer this problem goes on, the fewer people think about it because it's "old news" at this point. I don't think it will ever make sense to me. Hope is a difficult word to understand nowadays, but I hope that one day we can move past the politicians who are hellbent on scapegoating innocent people in need and that we can find the common decency to help them to the extent that they need and treat others the way we ourselves want to be treated.
We will get there. Maybe not on this earth, but those with love in their hearts will find love once more. It sucks when we can all see how things could be better yet the destruction goes on. Thanks for sharing your thoughts continue to speak your truth.
Your message was so touching! It's very difficult to watch these children and my heart aches for the people of Syria. But watching these little kids laugh, smile, participate and have a passion is something great in a terrible place. What an unbelievable job the women running the school are doing. They're angels watching over the angels.

In the world of martial arts videos on youtube, this is a rarity. Every other MA video is about arguing over the best martial arts. In mind, this is also puts life into perspective, considering so much of martial arts culture on the internet is focused on competition and vainglory. My Tae Kwon Do instructor was from Korea (him and his like 9 brothers started a bunch of studios). We started every class honoring not only America, but Korea too. He took my 7yo ADHD, no sense of self, no self control, no sense of drive, self and turned me into almost the youngest black belt on the eastern seaboard, leading classes, holding my own in and out of class.... I owe so much to him, to this martial art.... frick I'm crying again... I'm so glad I can relate to these young people. I have confidence that they will go out into this world and do amazing things.

The end card here is also kind of a warning, and possibly the most important one Even has ever included, "Imagine of he gets canceled." What is the phrase, "don't meet your idol," as a warning saying they may not live up to your expectations. Worse yet being mean. When one falls, gets canceled, especially the few times they do. As it effects you and all of your fans. Woah, that would suck for so many.

As always great video! Amazing how Taekwondo, an environment of calm normalcy, and UA-cam can be such a positive force for people in otherwise horrible circumstances. Hope those kids get to open their martial arts studio in Syria, or become UA-camrs!
These last two videos have been some of the most moving content I've seen. Your channel is an absolute treasure. Also i would bawl if Mr beast went there to see them
I have done Taekwondo for 9 years and taught for 3. It is one of if not the most rewarding experiences of my life. I was lucky to as paying for TKD lessons isn't Something everyone can do. So to see two people whose experiences are at minimum 3x mine if not more do it for presumably free genuinely makes me proud of the community that TKD fosters. As someone who also instructed and to see students develop with both hard work and pride in what they do: no experience tops that. I am proud to see those who had so little develop that same love and obsession I did.
I hope Mr Beast does something related to this, likely he'll have a lot of plans in motion and can't just jump into anything, and i feel like sending a positive message is the best short term thing. But i hope long term he gets to go out there, Its also great for him to get these messages showing that despite what the Twitter Nazi's think of him everyone else really thinks what he does is great, Because actions mean more than words.
I love Taekwondo too! The insight about how MrBeast videos are having an indirect positive effect on communities in other parts of the world that don't even primarily speak English is absolutely mind blowing. Incredible video.
This channel really grew on me. I'm a fan since you did the Yugoslavia series. I learned a lot... If you ever come back to Bosnia I'd love to have a coffee with you in Sarajevo. Peace ✌🏼
I got my green belt in tae kwondo and had to stop because my instructor went back to his home country. This was in the 80's so can't really remember why. I still do my basic forms a couple times a week because I just had a hip replacement so want to make sure I am still good to go. Love your content and thanks for showcasing this. I joined because or bullying in school to defend myself.
every time. Mr Hadfield. every time. you nail it, and I am left feeling like what I do is....well, not pointless, but not as important. but then I realize you are just doing what I do, and what every one should be doing. leaving the world a little better with every action, or thought, or word.
I think the real reason why all these kids look up to Jimmy "MrBeast" is because anyone can see how his channel grew, how he was grinding for years and years trying to get somewhere and find his style, until he finally did. It's not so much about what he does necessarily, but the example that is set, this clear and visible proof that so long as you work on something long enough, it will pay off because simply by the repetition you inevitably get good at what you do. Frankly, that's as good a career advice as it can get in the modern world of absolute uncertainty.
I have loved your work for years. I genuinely missed your content in the lockdown era. I think this mini series on this camp is your best work yet. We westerners take so much for granted. Despite these kid’s situations they’re probably happier than a good chunk of westerners. Don’t stop doing what you do brother!

Please keep inspiring and travelling

You have me wondering when I started watching your videos along with when I started watching mrbeast. Both several years ago at this time but you might have had a bigger subscriber count at the time, still wild how far both of you have come
Is there a website where we can donate to this camp? I know you're not asking for money but your two most recent videos have inspired me. I'd like to get the link from here so I know I'm donating to the right place.
The camp is run by the UNHCR, so you can donate to them. The money might not go to this specific camp, but whether they're Syrians, Rohyngias, Ukrainians, Ethiopians, these guys are out there for the people who need the most help; there are tens of thousands over the world in refugee camps for whom the UNHCR is the only lifeline.
Good video, but it'd be nice if we could have a bit more footage with direct translation for what people are saying. (if you have permission, of course)
I made a video in Cuba called "the voices of Cuba" on why I avoid doing that, generally. If people ask specifically, we will. If they don't, we make the deliberate decision not to.
they are rare earth, these great people percivering in the extreme situations. It makes me so thankful for where i am on earth and where i live it could be far far worse
Martial arts have been a huge outlet for many people. There's a reason why in Brazil and other places that are marginalized... It's such a big deal. Allowing people to feel like they have some kind of power and control over their own life in such difficult circumstances and places
If you see this; you make my day better, I know it isn't as much as making a refugee camp happy, or making a country happy, but you have improved a bunch of peoples' days. And if you think you're greedy because you bought someone a keyboard or you don't think you've helped, please remember; I get exited when you upload a new video, and that's more help than I've ever done.

Fantastic video! ❤
@rareearth please release longer version with their interviews.
This channel is treasure for humanity.
If Aliens ever get a bit of us, I hope they get this channel.
I love Taekwondo too! The insight about how MrBeast videos are having an indirect positive effect on communities in other parts of the world that don't even primarily speak English is absolutely mind blowing. Incredible video.
"Two gardens, one vegetable and one kinder." That was so sweet❤😂
I hope Jimmy see's this. Your channel is very underrated, and as sappy as it sounds you've gotten me through some rough times.
Incredible storytelling. I love this and love seeing work like this on UA-cam.
damn... these vids just keeps hitting deep.
Evan, you've shown some unique and fantastic things on your channel here, but this is just beauty. Thanks.
He really doesn't lie about the 50k views thing lol.
It's like youtube hard capped his views and when a vid get 50k they stop recommending it.
thank you ...please NEVER STOP ...i need RARE EARTH in my life
You're a great storyteller, thank you for sharing their and your story.
every time.
Mr Hadfield. every time.
you nail it, and I am left feeling like what I do
is....well, not pointless, but not as important.
but then I realize you are just doing what I do,
and what every one should be doing.
leaving the world a little better with every action, or thought, or word.
Amazing video. Thanks for showing us this and all the other incredible stories over the years.
You make me cry, Hadfield. That's your rocket ship.
Rare earth is a rare treat. Keep doing what you do my friend.
One of the few channels I never find myself fast forwarding.
2:25 I didn't get your "kinder" garden verbiage until 3:25; very clever way with words
Beautiful videography, and storytelling!
You brought a tear to my eye thank you,
I'm not a Mr. Beast fan but I'm glad he brought the lads some happiness in their situation.
I hope they are doing alright and accomplish what they set out to do.
You were sitting in Your home? Wow. You're usually bouncing around this amazing sphere we live on. lol. 😉
Fantastic - thank you for making this. Great to get a glimpse into their lives.
as you referred to yourself as "mr.50k views" in an effort to draw contrast between the reach of mr.beast compared to yours, i just want to let you know being one of the 50 thousand, the videos you make inspire me to write, explore, talk to people, learn languages and most importantly dream. always dreamt of being a traveler but just like mr.beast to the kids, your words inspire me and always leave me with a "scratch to itch". Please keep inspiring and travelling
Held in a booth for 3 hours for no clear reason? That sounds like trying to get into the usa
a different video than your usuals but still impeccable editing and writing !
from culture in decline to this new project rare earth ur making great content, but plz can u post the video of their answers to ur question?
Have you guys of mr beasts 50v50 kids vs elderly video?
That's just beautiful.
Simply beautiful.
People matter, and some people go out of their way to make people matter.
Thank you so much for sharing...
and for being instrumental in making people matter.
I like your off the beaten path stories! boy! there's a lot going on the the world!!! I'm thinking of moving to Canada things are getting hot here in the US! Not in a good way!
You, Sir, are a Rare Beast. I don't think anyone else could make me stop, look, listen, laugh, cry, and laugh again in 9 minutes flat
What a hopeful video. Watching that made me feel better about life. Thank you.
You have me wondering when I started watching your videos along with when I started watching mrbeast. Both several years ago at this time but you might have had a bigger subscriber count at the time, still wild how far both of you have come
Nice.
Respect from Africa 🇿🇦
Is there a website where we can donate to this camp? I know you're not asking for money but your two most recent videos have inspired me. I'd like to get the link from here so I know I'm donating to the right place.
The camp is run by the UNHCR, so you can donate to them. The money might not go to this specific camp, but whether they're Syrians, Rohyngias, Ukrainians, Ethiopians, these guys are out there for the people who need the most help; there are tens of thousands over the world in refugee camps for whom the UNHCR is the only lifeline.
Almost 1h and Mr Beast hasn't shown up. I'm beginning to suspect he's just human.
OK I know this is a serious, heart touching video.. But I was quite astounded by your Syrian doppelganger at 6:40 haha
I always love the outro text, cracks me up every time
Good video, but it'd be nice if we could have a bit more footage with direct translation for what people are saying. (if you have permission, of course)
I made a video in Cuba called "the voices of Cuba" on why I avoid doing that, generally. If people ask specifically, we will. If they don't, we make the deliberate decision not to.
@@RareEarthSeries Good video and good points.
Hey, Mr. 50 000, I love your channel. And I believe that one day, less viewers will be a good sign.
Oh, man, you have me in tears with this one❤❤❤
they are rare earth, these great people percivering in the extreme situations. It makes me so thankful for where i am on earth and where i live it could be far far worse
I loved finding this! Thank you so much! ✨🌏✨🕊
Martial arts have been a huge outlet for many people. There's a reason why in Brazil and other places that are marginalized... It's such a big deal. Allowing people to feel like they have some kind of power and control over their own life in such difficult circumstances and places
Damn, Rare Earth is still fantastic
Great message but where was the segment of them teaching you :)
Just Wow! What a lovely and humble message. For all that each of them have been through, to come together in such a unique way is just beautiful.
정말 좋은 영상이네요 감사합니다
Brilliant work as always
If you see this; you make my day better, I know it isn't as much as making a refugee camp happy, or making a country happy, but you have improved a bunch of peoples' days. And if you think you're greedy because you bought someone a keyboard or you don't think you've helped, please remember; I get exited when you upload a new video, and that's more help than I've ever done.
Every video is always quality, always worth the wait, can't wait for the next one
such a nice message
Well said. Thank you for sharing.
