I despair at how people buy into it instead of discussing about how to regain control of the government again to use it rightly.
Well, I believe as of now governments are hijacked by the psycho-rich class, that's why they are so terrible, but they used to be better, and just disempowering governments will mean more abusive practices by big companies.

You are a truly wonderful storyteller that has the rare gift of being able to humanize both the fantastical and the seemingly absurd (demons that were blamed for pregnancy, how a centuries old card game helped create Nintendo, etc), that somehow promotes both a deeper understanding and empathy in equal measure while doing it. And you do it in a way that almost feels conversational. It doesn't feel like a documentary, or even a video, as much as it almost feels like I randomly bumped into a friend of a friend on the street while running errands and I simply couldn't get enough of what they were saying.

I eat vegan, I do my best to avoid things made in sweatshops, I practice pacifism except in cases of self-defense. When I learn of a word or phrase being hurtful towards a group of people I make myself stop saying it. For instance, I'm gay, and yes, it does hurt when people use the word f@ggot or say something is gay when they mean it's stupid or that they don't like it. I've had it done and I know how it feels and I don't want anyone else to feel that way. Those are just a few examples... "
How to solve the rot of our societies is to use our hands for more than just complaining, we may not be able to solve nation size issues on our own, but we are all part of a local community. People need healthcare, food, shelter and a purpose, it doesn't have to come from the government, it doesnt have to reach everybody, but everytime it happens things get that much better.
Ideology always loses to reality eventually, history is pretty clear on that, there is no such thing as divine right (monarchy), no first amongst equals (communism) ever ended poverty, wealth simply doesn't trickle down (capitalism). But some people will always want a simple answer (facism), a way to feel invested, whether its real or not."
Evan is pretty clear that regardless of the current defining political ideology, the common lose out, forced into things like wars and yawning inequality from an elite that increasingly doesn't give a shit about their fellow man. I think it must be stated what the statute really represents. It is not a middle finger, it is a hand giving a Roman salute with its fingers cut off so that it looks like a middle finger. It is giving the finger not to Italy, but to the corrupt system which enabled Mussolini to get power.
This completely destroys the metaphor in my opinion, as the statue can no longer be seen as a way to say "fuck you" to one's own country.
Secondly, Mussolini's rise to power has been probably oversimplified by a lot, but that is understandable given the video format, and the general analogy with Trump still stands.
