There is a reason Above the Black Sea and Under the Red Sky have thematic titles. Miyako (guitar and keyboards) said in an interview, "They are connected to each other and I wrote both as a kind of love letter to Rachmaninoff. I love his Piano Concerto No. 2 and I’ve dreamt of being able to play it on piano with the backing of a full orchestra one day, but my skill isn’t quite there yet. So instead I wanted to create a kind of ‘guitar concerto’, and this turned into the tracks Under The Red Sky and Above The Black Sea. For this reason, these two tracks are very personal and important to me."

Lovebites are such an uplifting band. Their lyrics are generally very positive, and they play with huge smiles on their faces. Smiley metal, played expertly… by supermodels (who look half their age… only the dark haired lead guitarist, Miyako, gives her age - 31, but they are all about 30. I’ve read that Haruna, the drummer is in her late 20’s, but I don’t know how the person who posted that could possibly know). You won’t find a bad song in their catalogue, and I’d strongly suggest you check out tracks from their studio live “Awake Again from Abyss” set - the only time that they don’t wear white, but are even BETTER than both studio and regular live.

They have said in interviews that they wear white because they're all so short that they want to be seen on stage.I think the average height is about 5''.
These two songs + "Apocalypse" are a three-part series about the last days of WWII. "Under the Red Sky" is about finding humanity in the aftermath of the atomic bombings.
As far as I can tell, "Above the Black Sea" isn't part of a trilogy. It's not based on anything specific like how "The Apocalypse" and "Under the Red Sky" are about the Hiroshima bombing (sorry Nagasaki!). Moreover, Asami has said she wrote the lyrics to UtRS specifically as a sequel to "The Apocalypse," while AtBS was based on the concept of shimbu-tai, Japanese units used in WWII that weren't expected to come back. They're similar in content, but I think it's a duology, not a trilogy.
@@PaleHorseShabuShabu My understanding is ATBS is written from the point of view of a Kamikaze pilot about to go on his last mission, so it's along the lines of what you said. So the three songs are about the end of WWII, but yes, two are about the bombing.
@@PaleHorseShabuShabu They're sort of a trilogy in terms of concept, but not in chronology, as all three refer to events of WWII, but they aren't sequential. Chronologically, they would be Above the Black Sea, the Apocalype, and finally Under the Red Sky, with only the latter two being directly linked by cause-and-effect.
Haruna left Destrose before Miho to get married but it didn't work out so she teamed up with Miho to form Lovebites. She may have married subsequently but I seem to remember her saying in an interview that she was still with the guy she intended to marry but was still single.

@@lianshadowmaker7834 Sorry it took so long to respond. If you scroll down a few comments you will see the lyrics. The song is about the experience of living in Japan in World War II when the USA dropped the atomic bombs on Japan both in retaliation for the unprovoked attack from Japan on America and in the hopes of causing Japan to surrender the fight and thus end the war. It speaks of the darkness and destruction of that day. It speaks of "sin in the sky" meaning they saw it as a great evil that was coming through the clouds to destroy them. Ironically, right before the bombs dropped she saw the smile of her loved one, but then, the suffering that immediately followed. She says that if God really exists how would He feel about their shame and disgrace due to their defeat? At the time, Japan felt great shame about not being able to be victorious. That was a different time and we might feel differently about some things now. I love Japan so much and America too. I am grateful that our countries are friends now.
