    Going through medic school I was taught to occlude proximally where the catheter ends and not at the entry site of the catheter... I would always get a slap on the wrist for doing that lol. Is doing it the way down in the video okay? Or is it specific for those types of catheters?

      For the benefit of comment readers as I’m sure you’ve figured this out by now: holding pressure at the entry site as demonstrated in this video carries a risk of contaminating the entry point with microbes from your gloves. Holding pressure above the site in the same vein will accomplish the same goal without contamination. Up by where the catheter ends is probably ideal.
