Oh! The singing at the end gave me chills! So incredible! And as always, another fantastic video! We love you guys! Keep it up! It was really cool to see where Curiosity was born!
I love what the line manager was saying about love, and having a love and connection with the people he works with. That's more than managing, it's leadership.
My favorite part was him saying "I'm basically part of the furniture" 🤣 We met several people working at R&C that had been there from the beginning and there are loads of people that had been there for 15+ years.
Yea, it was incredible to see how happy so many of the people are there. They consider their job a privilege, and working at Robertson and Caine is considered a good job. The icing on the cake is the last minute, what a lovely group of ladies. We also saw it first hand in Mossel Bay with the township by a big gas plant. We met a local that lived in the township and he said "the best job is working at the plant, and once you get a job there you work hard and do your job well. You don't want to lose it because there's 1,000 other people waiting in the Township for an opening."
If anyone out there is unsure of the pride that South African's have for their county, you can see it clearly when our friend Kate talks about products built in SA (from our previous vids) and you can see it in the smiles of all the workers that we captured in this video. Pride is definitely something that South African's do not lack! 💪🏼
It is amazing you have been able, as a country to retail such a wealth of skill and boat building talent, you should be so proud. Sadly here in Australia we have farmed out most of manufacturing to Asia and have only 1 quality Catamaran Manufacturer left. Lightwave Catamarans is a proudly Australian Company.
I love that statement, "If you enjoy what you are doing, you will never work a day in your life". If everyone felt that way... Thanks for the insights and tour!
I'm a South African and you guys just make me so proud, thank you love ur content and ur professionalism ....especially during our lockdown...Love you guys.
Wow that was such a lovely video guys. As a fellow Leopard owner (who’s daughter lives in Cape Town) I think your video was so well done and makes us proud that we bought into the brand hey 😀 . Every time I go to Cape Town and drive past the factory I get those tingles Jason. I think it’s knowing how much joy our boats bring us in life especially when they are your floating home.
South Africans are tighter than a nuns nasty!!! Nothing for free out of that shop!! Yes I'm a Saffa.... Lovely video guys..... I too love it when my Zulu staff sing gospel at work
Both the R&C and Leopard team were extremely kind to show us around and take us out sailing. We almost felt bad for taking up so much of Marcel's time because buying a new boat isn't in the cards for us right now...but he was all smiles and happy to spend a few days chauffeuring us around cape town.
@@gonewiththewynns Why wouldn't Marcel like it? He just got 250,000+ people to see his companies boats. Free advertising is never a bad idea. Don't think you took advantage of him, He took advantage of you.
Ronald Harris I didn’t realize there was an obligation or a timer for industries to acknowledge influencers who use their product. Drive coupled with contentment, humility, and a lack of expectations says a lot about Nikki and Jason’s character. It’s why I keep coming back and look forward to each new video. They learned more about their boat and the company that built it. They had a great and unique adventure. And they make a living off of creating content from that adventure and sharing it with us. Why would there be any expectation of more? Good on them for their well crafted and professional response to a comment that offhandedly and perhaps unintentionally brings their character into question. Kudos.
Love this! I'm from a manufacturing background where team work and ownership of the individual components created and environment of quality. I hope the craftspeople are well paid and there is equality of pay for men and women. Great tour! Thank you.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing happy staff working in such harmony. The work ethos is wonderful to see. Beautiful boats, great vibe, and so well presented. Thank you the Wynns. Having come from SA it makes me glow with pride
Nice to see the boat builders accommodate you guys like that. Actually a very good way for them to advertise & sell boats. They have some great staff too.
Great video. It was nice of Robertson & Caine to bring you on the floor of their shop and let you film. These workers seem to have the right attitude and that will reflect on the final boat! Happy Trails
So much CRAFTSMANSHIP!!! So much attention to detail! And a really happy place to work, too, with care for safety and a song. "New stuff" means trade secrets swimming in the fish bowl. Especially brings peace of maritime mind to see all that well-engineered heavy hardware bringing strength beneath all of that gooey, sweet-smelling gelcoat and molded fiberglass epoxy resins -- same 'robustness' thinking in 'Windwalker', a 1979 Boston Whaler Harpoon 4.6 (monohull, much smaller than the Leopard line, but still seaworthy for day sails after four decades). Thanks to everyone on camera and off for such a fine factory tour! Have to agree with many of the comments below, too. Cheers, S/V 'Windwalker'
Thanks for the tremendous tour. I have always admired Leopard Catamarans, and now that I see how the quality goes in I have a better understanding of why. The craftsmen and women seem content as they do the work demonstrates how to achieve a quality, finished product! Fiberglass is difficult to work with, yet Robertson and Caine have organized their plant to maximize quality yet keep their people happy. We need more of this worldwide.
@@LeopardCatamaran I couldn't agree more with R Fleming's comments. I hope all in the R&C family are safe and well. I can't wait to receive my 45 hopefully later this year. It will be one of the last non-lounge coach roof version in your production run and has a bow sprit. It's really cool to have possibly caught a glimpse of it.
Seeing these people work, the happiness they express, and the amazing management, I would certainly want one of these boats; built with love means quality.
Love this! Had to be surreal for you guys. I love watching things come to fruition. I think it reminds us what a gift creation can be and how many skilled hands go into the making of things. Very cool and such lovely people taking pride in what they do. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤔

Never in my lifetime did I think I would be viewing a catamaran being built in South Africa. Who knew. And having you do the tour made me feel like I was there. Thank you, I loved seeing the joy these people have.
That was awesome, I love watching boats being built! What a great crew at the factory and hats off to management for allowing us to tag along! Thanks for sharing and let’s hope you’re back on board soon!
Very cool video guys, I enjoyed how you included some of the employees in the video, giving them some recognition of their work, you guys are the best.
Happy to say you guys have inspired Mike and I to go and see the world more. Thank you for this beautiful content where we can see a bigger world, a more beautiful world and people are good everywhere. Thank you both. You are a gift to us all.
One big thing I noticed from my visit to Cape Town was that everyone was singing all over the place. Lovely to see people who are happy. And thank you for taking us there!
I don't know how you guys do it, but you seem to tease truly inspirational moments out of life wherever you go. I was in awe after learning about the tradition of the Kata Dance in one of your episodes. Now this gem: "If you love what you're doing, then you never work a day in your life". That's so profound in so many ways!
That has to be your new sponsored boat that your going out in! You guys are very big and respected in the sailing UA-cam world. Make that deal! You won’t forget it.
Thank you so much for taking us on a tour of where Curiosity was born, the other factory too. When your workforce are happy enough to sing in the workplace, it means that they genuinely content with and care about what they do, and will put their soul into it. I cannot think of a better accolade for any manufacturer of anything than a happy workforce. Thank you for bringing us this Lady's wonderful voice.
Yes . As I watched this my thoughts went to the large numbers of people in the world suffering now though covid19. Even riding on a boat for them is a fantasy for them.
It’s awesome to see how happy the employees are. That’s a sure sign of a great corporation. What an amazing factory. The sheer scale of it is very impressive thanks for the tour guys
It’s your fault 🤣 Larry and I are full time in our fifth wheel because of you guys. Then when you guys got a boat, he asked if we could boat instead. I didn’t go for it. 😬. But we can’t stop watching your adventures. Your videos are some of the best. Very cool to see where your baby was born. Everyone seems so friendly. Wow. Those details. Love those accents. Glad to hear about the recycling. Very cool opportunity for you guys. Wow. Beautiful song. Such a happy ending to the video. Stay safe. Alice
Good lord thats an amazing production they have going on. We are family freinds with the Melges and have been to there factory for Scows many times and am always amazed at the process that goes into building at boat, but that... just amazing!

I’ve toured a couple of monohull manufacturers (Hunter and Catalina), but the molds for these Leopards are so much more massive than the monohulls, and the space required to assemble them is so much greater than for a monohull of similar length. Very impressive!
Finally I am off and enjoying my coffee with the Wynns 💕☕️☕️ thanks again for a great video and for sharing your lives. This was really cool to see where Curiosity was born! Can’t wait to see more of Fiji as well and how you are all doing! Hopefully soon can get to Tonga 🇹🇴💕💕🙏⛵️🤿🍻

Love the singing at the end, that was amazing! Cool to see where the Curiosity was built. So many catamarans are built in South Africa, mind blowing. They should build a dedicated catamaran with Gone with the Wynns livery
One of my summer jobs while in college was the final assembly shop of Broadwater Boats. They rang the "end of shift" bell when ever it was time to take a hull from the mold, and all hands came over to help as it was a muscle power procedure!
Oh! The singing at the end gave me chills! So incredible! And as always, another fantastic video! We love you guys! Keep it up! It was really cool to see where Curiosity was born!
