Traveling about the world for the past 10 years with two cats has been an adventure, to say the least. They’ve sniffed, hunted and marked more territories in their lifetime than any other pawed creature I know. From climbing mountains, descending into canyons and lapping from glacial rivers, there isn’t much these two furry travelers haven’t done.
Choosing to live an alternative lifestyle, especially one as a nomad, comes with its challenges. Luckily for us, both Singa and Cleo have adapted and thrived through the ever-changing journey.
Our thousands of miles together around North America were mostly seamless and straightforward. Even moving aboard a sailboat proved to be more of a challenge for us humans than the felines. But, 13,000 nautical miles later we’re at a crossroads.
We’ve been confronted with some hard decisions and it’s been an emotional roller-coaster. But, it’s a part of our story and not one we want to leave you out on. This is the most difficult story we’ve ever shared, and you may want a handkerchief close by for the ending.

Gone with the Wynns My girlfriend and I cried so much ... and cuddled our 2 dogs a little more that night.
Watching your Chanel for years, I often thought of the day one of your cats crosses the rainbow 🌈 bridge 🐾. I imagined your sadness, how you might do a possible burial at sea ceremony on the boat etc etc. But oh the sadness of 1st having to decide to separate from them (although you found the perfect place). This was sad 😢 and tragic enough. But I feel so much for you and for your loss, that you could not be with Cleo during his last moments. I’m really sorry it turned out that way. I’m sure if you had known you would have stayed close by until the end. 😔Hindsight is 2020.
For having said last goodbye to a few of my furry family members, I feel your pain.
Hope Singa is adapting to his new life and to the loss of his friend. Will be easier for him with the new friends than what would have been on the boat. Take time to grieve and thanks for sharing even this emotional part of your life. 🐈
I read a comment that Cleo will hiss at you one minute and purr the next. Remember, animals can also have dementia .

Why am I crying?? Jason's face broke my heart 😭
On Christmas I lost my wife of 51 years, then I watched this video and the tears all came back. Losing a family member whether it is human or animal is so hard to bear. Watching your videos has brought so much joy to my life, thank you.
jerry clower Lost my baby brother 3 years ago, he was 59. Now everything is a cry fest. I'm 70, so mom and dad are gone. Can't seem to adjust. Brother was NOT supposed to go before me.

@@vgandersonauthor Cleo was doing very well with her medications and special diet for her kidney disease. She had settled in nicely at Mutiny Ranch and was enjoying life there. She was happy there for a couple of months and there were no indications that she was about to die. In fact, when she did pass it was so sudden that Lynn & Clark didn't have time to grab car keys or call the vet. She died swiftly and peacefully in Clark's lap. Now everyone is entitled to their opinion, and if you clearly cannot see the logic of Nikki & Jason not wanting Cleo to be in a place with zero vet care, at 19 years old and with a life-ending chronic condition, then that is your choice. BUT, if you cannot express your opinion in a more civilized manner without name-calling & vitriol, I will ban you from this channel (as I do with all trolls who cannot express themselves like reasonable adults). I have your most recent comment in pending (it will not be released) and will check back on this thread. Be well and be nice or be gone.

@@gonewiththewynns You people really don't get it. I'm with V.G. This isn't about chastising them for leaving Cleo somewhere she could get vet care. DUH. This is about chastising irresponsible pet owners for ditching her there. One of the largest parts of responsible pet care is making sure YOU, the pets people, are where the animals can get care, and continue to receive YOUR companionship. The companionship the animal spent 19 YEARS becoming dependent on and is a HUGE part of their survival and safe passing from this life. Yeah, she died sooner than expected, they ditched her after 19 years, leaving her in emotional distress on top of her physical problems. Only the most selfish and cold-hearted people among us would be capable of such a despicable act.
Your adaption to this loss will prepare you, sorta, for the loss of other loved ones. My wife who used to watch your presentations with me just passed. Sorrow is what we do to let the sadness out. Fair winds you two. Enjoy every moment you have together. We did.

Even though I knew a day ahead of time that the video was coming out I still couldn't watch it right away. I waited till afternoon and was still not prepared. Thank you so much for the care you put into creating this beautiful tribute. Even though we were there for Cleo's passing it still tore me up to see the words on the screen. I was so emotionally drained yesterday that I couldn't come comment. And now I'm sobbing all over again. Thank you for trusting us with your kitties. We love them and you!

I so agree. I am following a youtuber that was diagnosed with cancer a while back (after I was following, that isn't why I subscribed) and I want to do everything I can to support his channel but somehow upvoting a video about a young man, father, husband in his last months seems almost ghoulish.

Awww. I was in the Air Force and took my two cats with me from Maryland to Germany. Drove with them to Crete Greece. We returned back to Texas. They lived to be 19.
Sorry to hear about the hard decision you guys had to make. Sometimes we have to do things for the ones we love that is hard for us but better for them. Thank you for sharing you story with us and so sorry to hear about her passing. But she is not suffering any more and is in a better place.

Omg. The range of emotions I had. When I first saw the title I figured you had to put Cleo down. Then when you told us that both cats were retiring on the ranch I was happy, but sad for you, and had tears in my eyes as Jason did. I knew I would miss seeing them on the videos, but at least they would be happy. Then at the end you told us of Cleo's passing, and again tears. But as you said she had a wonderful life filled with adventure, and two very loving parents. Sometimes, while I enjoy your sailing adventure I miss you traveling in the motor home, and hiking with Singa. Best wishes to both of you!

Dara Tucker so true on the best decision for Cleo and Singa. It would’ve been selfish not to let them stay. So glad they have this opportunity to live the rest of their days on the ranch but will miss their cameos.

You graciously share your home and lifestyle with us and clearly many of us fans have grown attached. Always brutal when we have to say goodbye to our fur babies. She is chasing butterflies now. I’ve only just discovered your channel and have been binge watching. I sitting here crying over the beautiful sacrifice you both made for the love and safety of your beautiful cats. They both looked so at peace on the farm. I just lost my 18 yr old tabby boy and it hurts so much but we do what’s best for the animals that’s touch our hearts and never leave. "We're in a bit of a somber mood." Half of UA-cam, too. 🐱🤧 I'm my nearly 6 decades, I've had the privilege of sharing time with many furry friends. Each of them leaves an indelible mark upon our soul as they share their lives with us. My Lila, now nearly 12, has been fighting corneal necrosis for the last 6 mo. She's my BFF, rescued from a bamboo grove near our building when she was less than a month old. I'll miss seeing your babies on board.
We LOVED you guys when you were RVing with your little furry family...While we are empowered by your jump into the cruising lifestyle TBH we stopped watching when there was alot of talk about monies and "a blow is a comin'"...However, your example of taking your kiddos with you has been an inspiration...We can surely say regardless of our families health issues we would never give our kiddos up..We would rather they or we pass in each others loving arms than be apart...a real bummer for you guys....some respect lost too...your crying tells the whole story of a bad decision....

And there is the real difference...they made a very hard decision for the best interest of their furry family, and it seems by what you are describing, you would make the selfish decision that would make you feel good and not necessarily what would be best for the animals. You really showed your colors...

The Wynns are genuine, kind, and compassionate people, and they have my highest regards.
@@johndiezel5781 Your defense of the Wynns is misguided...My belief is that if you take in a family member, furry or otherwise that is commitment you make for life, not until it suits YOUR life or more importantly your travel plans...Case in point, I have cancelled 2 international vacations in the last year because we took in a 3 year old herding dog that had never been trained or socialized; that had largely been left in an outside kennel, by 3 different families, that no other family would adopt..8 months later she is one of the most amazing furry kiddos I have ever had.. Further, 2 of my current furry kiddos require medications twice daily and we have had several others who also required regular medical care all of whom passed of old age in our loving arms with their family..So in your blind defense of the Wynns, don't misjudge my statement. In my view again I would NEVER give up a pet to suit my future life or travel plans...especially one that had been in my family for soo long..A horrible decision for that animal to lose its seemingly forever family

Hey guys you have done the right thing for your cats despite it being so emotional and I'm sorry to hear that Cleo passed away. I have two cocker spaniels and even with pet insurance they have cost us thousands in vet fees, But we wouldn't be without them as they bring so much joy. By now you are back on your boat. even if it is out of the water, and making new friends. Take care and let's hope 2021 will be a better virus-free year,
I've followed you guys from your R.V. days and I was always amazed and intrigued how you managed to travel with your cats. You guys are amazing.. It’s so sad to hear of you loss, I’m sitting on a train with tears running down my face. I’ve been following you guys for about a year now and you have inspired me to join the live aboard community and sail around the world. Having animals myself (a border collie called Oscar)I know the heart ache that we have to go through when they become old are ill. My heart goes out to you.. Remember the good time you have together, they will always be with you in your heart..
This is the only you tube video that ever made me cry. I was a big fan of yours when you were doing the RV thing, not so much when you switch to the boat; but for some reason this video came up on the top of my recommended videos, after watching it I know why. Your cats are blessed with a very special life and have seen so much more in this world than most adults will. Definitely one of the most beautiful videos. Thank you for sharing so much of your life stories over the years.
Never have I cried so much over a you tube video. After following you all for so many years, I feel your loss and know Cleo and Singa are always with you. Glad to see that Singa has so many other friends to be with.

Our pets give us their unconditional love and in return we have a burden, to do the right thing for them even when it hurts so damned bad. Too often our cats and our dogs go down suddenly, and at the end we are left with just those fresh, bad memories. So glad you had time to say a proper goodbye, and that Cleo's last weeks were spent in happiness and lifted with the spirit of a new adventure. Hope the many wonderful memories of your journeys with your kids will help ease your weary hearts.

Omg,I share your feelings, tears and pain loosing a beloved pet and companion. Your babies, your children .only an animal lover can understand the lost.
