I have an early 2016 T120, one of the first sold in the US. It's been great. I'm 5'10", 175 lbs., and I feel like the bike was custom made for me. The bike does everything well.
Like you I took a test ride on a T120 and it put a huge grin on my face. It felt like riding a good, solid motorcycle from my younger days, but with all the latest safety features. Suspension is pretty basic with only preload on the rear shocks and I also found the standard seat not so comfy. Anyway, I liked it enough to buy one...which got written off in an accident. Just bought my second T120 with comfort seat, Vance & Hines pipes and a fly screen. Happy days :)
Have had one for 6 months. Cant speak highly enough about it. Build quality is way better than their older bikes. Got the cruise control which is great for touring as is the 300km+ fuel range and ergos.. If you're umming and ahhing about it - do it. You won't regret it.
I had an '01 Bonneville 865. I LOVED IT. I rode for 50 years. I DON'T know how many bikes I had. I ALWAYS preferred "Vertical Twins." My MOST RECENT Bike, was an HD StreetBob. (2011) I BROKE My Arm, a FEW RIBS & MY HIP. That Bike is in Germany now. I have PARKINSON'S DISEASE. I NEED a SideCar. I'm BROKE.
Get rid of the tank’s pinch-weld, and I’d really consider buying any one of T120’s. After all, if aesthetics is a factor in buying a bike, a pinch-weld isn’t something easily farkled away.
Scotchcal black 1/2" automotive striping tape applied to the T120's tank seam makes it go away. Looks much better. The tape stretches neatly around compound curves. If you start to get a bubble or wrinkle, just lift the tape, stretch it a little, and lay it down again.
I know I'm late here but if you see this I was curious how you like the riding position versus the Speedmaster. I love the looks of the Speedmaster but I prefer the neutral position of the T120, and I prefer the twin gauges on the 120. I may have to test ride both.
Yet another excellent Triumph review. You're giving me a serious problem though. I'm hoping to return to biking (since the mid 70s) and starting out with an MT 125 with my target being eventually buying a new Triumph. Problem is, you sell me on EVERY single model you review! Thanks for nothing lol and keep up the great work. Sorry about the essay!
Hey Chooch, would you ever consider doing a Harley test ride? There are so many mixed reviews out there. You have ridden on many different bikes that I think you could give a nice honest review. Since you have mostly ridden smaller sporty bikes it would be nice to see you review like a Sportster 1200 since it would be sort of comparable. I would just like to see an honest comparison of them to other bikes.
Interesting that you asked this. I tried. The one local Harley dealer I went to turned my asking about doing reviews for my channel into a HARD sales pitch. Kid even broke out the 4 square. They are high pressure sales plain and simple and it really turned me off to the brand. I did get to ride the Fat Boy 114 though. Nice enough bike, if it was about 10k LESS. 21K for that is absolutely insane. Not when you can get the Rocket III or literally any other cruiser for a lot less.
Traded a Tiger 1200 XRT in for a 2021 model, have a Street glide so was always using that for touring, enjoyed my time with Tiger but moved the body not the soul.
I get that too all the time, from childhood. Skiing, riding motorcycles, atvs, zero turn mower, It sucks. Doc said it’s part of aging, senses are not what they used to be so it’s gets worse with age. I’m 45 now.
I do not think that it handles very well in the twisties. I truly believe that the new Triumph Street Triple is one of the best handling bikes around. It is truly the modern version of the 1970 Triumph Bonneville T-120 IMO. just saying
I had Draggin Jeans when I first started riding back in 09. I decided to go with true riding pants for a few reasons. One was the attachment, my pants zip to my jacket in the back. Two was for the high-viz components. The Olympia airglide series does have pretty good ventilation but there just isn't any way to escape 100 degrees in Texas short of a cooling vest.
So, I really enjoyed your ride review of the Bonnie. I have a 2020 T-120 diamond with 24.5 k so far and I be loving my Bonnie . Best motorcycle I've ever had. Just love cruising through the back country roads on a early Saturday morning. Be safe out there fellow riders.👋
I just bought a 2020 T120 Bonnie standard and I love it.
Congrats! They’re amazing machines!
Bought a T120 black in May.
Love it so much only complaint it hurts my cheekbones because I have a constant stupid grin on my face while riding.
Owners pride syndrome!
So have to agree with you. There is something magical about Triumphs. That is why I have three. Love your videos, keep up the good work..
Thank you!

Bought the t120 Ace edition , couldn’t be happier ! Everything you said about the t120 is spot on 😊👍 Triumph Rules !
LOVE your passion! I've got the Cinder Red version of this bike; easily the best bike I've ever owned.
Thank you! Enjoy and keep the shiny side up!
I bought a T120, and really has a snatchy throttle at the low end. Booster Plug completely fixed this issue. Highly recommended
I put one on my Speed Twin too. Love it!
Also Vance Hines for the street twins and scramblers are totes the way to go.
MY FAVOURITE IS SPEED TWIN 1200 , AWESOME MACHINE
"i feel that in my nether-region" hahahahah
Great review
Thank you!

I ALWAYS preferred
"Vertical Twins." My MOST RECENT Bike, was an HD StreetBob.
(2011)
I BROKE My Arm, a FEW RIBS & MY HIP.
That Bike is in Germany now.
I have PARKINSON'S DISEASE. I NEED a SideCar. I'm BROKE.
Can you do a review on the t100.
Triumph is love

If it really bothers you, paint the pinch weld black and it will actually enhance the overall look. (seriously)
Walter Wilkins so true !

I prefer the feet under riding position normally but the speed master is a lot of fun in it's own right.
Yet another excellent Triumph review. You're giving me a serious problem though.

Every time you ride triumph you get bikegasms
Thanks for sharing. Question, which do you like better, the T120 or the Speedmaster? Isn't it the same engine?
I liked the ride of the speed master. The position and the feel was preferred.
@@MotoChooch good deal. Thanks man. Getting a bike soon. Just cant make up my mind lol
Fuckin hell he's bright....

Harley shmarley, TRIUMPH is where it's at😎
what about fuel economy? is it the same as Bonneville street twin?
I see a consistent 61-65 MPG. In years past, larger engine displacement came with a gas mileage penalty. Not so with the T120.
That bike is identical to mine and i got 67mpg over a 200 mile ride.
Bike looks small
What did they do shrink it by 20% to save money ?
Small compared to what, an Electra Glide???
So T120 or Tiger 1200 XRT?
Tiger 1200 XRt if I had to choose.
MotoChooch But that exhaust note!!
Ryan Meyer I know but that tiger is awesome.
Tigre every time
Traded a Tiger 1200 XRT in for a 2021 model, have a Street glide so was always using that for touring, enjoyed my time with Tiger but moved the body not the soul.
Great reviews... just wondering why you get dizzy/nauseous when breaking hard... is this normal? Never happened to me. Worth asking a doctor?
I get motion sickness. Pretty common actually.
MotoChooch You shouldn't get it if you're in control of the vehicle... Maybe you should get it checked out.
I get that too all the time, from childhood. Skiing, riding motorcycles, atvs, zero turn mower, It sucks. Doc said it’s part of aging, senses are not what they used to be so it’s gets worse with age. I’m 45 now.
Better to get motion sickness when braking hard than the, erm ya know- hospital alternative? Lol

Mine handles just fine, I suppose it depends on what you're trying to do with it.
Wooot first comment 💪🏻💪🏻👌🏻
Chooch, you need to get some Draggin Jeans and a mesh jacket. You will be much cooler. Great video. Thank you.....Sal : )

I completely understand. Thanks for responding....Sal : )
