Very nice video ! The double screen cell phone is a very good idea ! I don´t need a big screen but the possibility to have two screens on two different apps, is very useful.
Missed ya, good to see you back. Great footage, even better lessons, carry spare fuel just in case of head winds. Sounds like you had a blast in Lithuania with Silvija, can’t wait to see that foootage, you guys are really great together.
Great video. Well done with the dead stick, you seam to remain calm which is great, considering it is a nerve racking experience. I spotted another Rc plane in you hanger 😃, what is it ? A yak?
Jonas Marcinko would love see some vlog on the Rc side, how often you fly? what you fly? etc 👍🏻, look forward to the next videos ✈️ I’m going to guess it a 30% 50cc? Yak.
Nice job getting her down in the field! I kept focusing on those power lines (different perspective through the camera, I'm sure) and puckering, LOL! Looking forward to the videos on Lithuania. My mom's side of the family is 100% Lithuanian. My great-grandmother escaped from there when it was Russian-controlled in the early part of 20th Century. Was a very risky proposition, but God willing she made it. Sadly she never did get to return to see her mom, and siblings like she always wanted. She passed when I was an infant (I just turned 46 today). So, that means I have family there I've never known. Don't know the name of the village she was from - all I know is it was near Kaunas. Her maiden name was Bakutis. I've never been there, nor have I really even seen much of it in print or in videos, so I'll be glued to the screen when you post that vid. I'll have to look through my grandmother's notes and see if it mentions the village. We also have a birth announcement from Lithuania that my great grandmother had, and passed to my grandmother - it's dated 1897! Still has the stamps and everything on it. One of my wife's salon customers translated it for us - that's how we know it was a birth announcement. We don't know who it is, or if they're related to me. It's difficult for me to read the handwriting, so I can't name the village listed there. Interesting stuff, though!
@@siiilvija1 - Thanks, Silvija! Before my grandmother passed, she had wrote my great-grandmother's whole story down, then had it typed out on a few pages of paper. Details about the grueling 2-week voyage in 30 foot seas, about how she had to go to bed hungry, since she was the youngest, and the boys got fed first, then her older sisters, the types of food they made, the traveling taylors that would make their clothes every year, etc.. I'm glad my grandmother took the time to write it all down. I would have never known the story!
What’s up Jonas? I subscribed to your Chanel about a week ago and have been watching tons of your videos! I’ve always wanted to fly, and your videos are inspirational. It was awesome seeing the Humboldt River/County and Winnemucca. I was born and raised there. I spent about 6yrs after high school in the treasure valley going to college and working as a chef. That’s actually where I met my wife. We are back in Winnemucca now. You found a treasure in Silvija! Best of luck to you brother.
YOU QUALIFIED! Nice, dude! That was a nice deadstick landing, glad that turned out. Finally, to answer your question, and fall for the corporate motivation in your sweet video, I'd do the same thing you do with two screens; one for a sectional and the other for airport freqs and AFDs. No more engine outs, man!
Jonas, my first light civil air was a cross country from Waco TX to Port Aransas Islands. No services on the grass strip so we were to gas in Corpus but we has a headwind. The ocean gap is about five miles just before final. Cesna 172 wing tanks had 1.4 USA gallons left. White knuckle flying over water, salt water. I felt for ya when you ran short bucking that head wind in a kitfox. Ugggg
Would look up stuff on one screen, while looking where I want to go (GPS and/or Maps) on the other. Actually so many things you could do it's almost unlimited..until they come out w/three! Got to make sure those gas caps are seated and sealed dude, my luck there wouldn't be a field to land in when it happened ;) That fly-in has grown to an amazing event! And cool to see the rest of it..but like others mentioned, can't wait for the Lithuania trip vids either!
#stillnotaniphone ;) But love you made it through another annoyance of fuel caps. You're reminding me to triple check mine when the Kitfox is done, haha.
Ok, I enjoyed, liked and subscribed. I’ve been watching Trents videos for awhile. You guys have a great thing going on. I fly a Varieze, but I identify as STOL! Keep up the good work! As for the LG, I’m impressed. I would use it just like you do, Nav on one side, info on the other. My plane has a pretty tight cockpit, so I’m always looking for ways/ devices to improve my flying management. Thanks!
DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!! Don't get me wrong, I love your videos , it inspires me to take up flying something like a KitFox again after I retire in 2 years. ( PP 550 Hrs. Inc. 300 Hrs. Search and Rescue as PIC ) As I'm researching SLA I'm noticing a relatively high accident rate. What gives man? What if you ran out of fuel over a densely forested area, or flipped your plane at a higher speed... I have nothing but respect for your adventures and spirit, I wish that had the courage to do something similar. It would be a tragedy to chuck it all for a simple laps in judgement, even a worse tragedy to take your beautiful partner with you if the worse were to befall you. I don't mean to be a downer but maybe a sober reflection of risks could pay off. For example, when we did search and rescue with the Civil Air Patrol we would sometimes fly "Low And Slow" looking for downed aircraft. It is by far the most fun type of flying but it had risks. We WOULD NOT fly low to the ground all the time, it's too dangerous. We would only do it in our grid search box. I notice you tend to fly very low AGL during much of your flight. Please forgive me if I'm far off base, I am not aware of the norms of SLA practices but it seems that accepted aviation rules of thumb would be smarter, like- height equals safety. Respectfully: Eric Curry
Glad you had a safe place to make an emergency landing when you ran out of gas . Glad you were near the Winnemucka airport so you could land to refuel . I just subscribed to you Jonas .
Awesome videos Jonas! I look forward to the next. Just an FYI, your gas cap is vented. Being loose just increases the vent. You already know that, but I like the creative explanation! No shame brother you were flying solo. I dead sticked in my Rans S6 with a passenger after not opening both tanks. Got distracted during my pre flight. I beat myself up for a long time over that one. man o man dude thats all you need is an engine out lol just glad sylvia wasnt with you it might have really scared enough to not fly again and thankfull your ok man just another fantastic video bro it looks so cool i cant wait to finish my license and get my plane STUDENT PILOT ED
I see two screens great for your own exact reason. ForeFlight on one side with google earth or roadmaps on the other! Very useful even for a forced landing!
Idk about the FAA but if TC caught wind that you completely used your reserve and ran out of fuel there would be a investigation and license suspension for “poor planning”
It's a pretty cool looking Might work good for my trucking business being able to use two screens separately multitasking I'll have to check that out And a good job dead stick landing there And having some backup fuel

I was wondering what's the average fuel consumption of a kitfox ?
Btw I just discovered your channel, it is awesome, very inspiring !
4 gal/hr cruising around 100mph.
Thanks!
The LG … would be cool for motorcycles too... awesome.

Was that cousin Eddys house?
Going to miss your side-kick, I think she add'd to the videos. Kool videos, places to go, things to do, like to fly the friendly skies.
I see two screens great for your own exact reason. ForeFlight on one side with google earth or roadmaps on the other! Very useful even for a forced landing!
ForeFlight is only for Apple IOS products. Won't work on the LG phone. Wish ForeFlight would do an Android version.
