It feels like the longest time since I've recorded a video, but I'm so glad to be back and sharing some of my intentions and our plans for the year ahead, which I have a feeling is going to be the best our family has had. I'd love to know some of your 'words' for 2024 in the comments below!

Could you do some interior work where you show how to dress a bed and what products to use - how to work out colour schemes for new projects eg cushions and fabrics for certain sofas and how to create lovely cosy spaces etc xx

I’m glad you are feeling positive. My words this year are Friends and Family. I’ve lost a few people lately and realise how short life is and I want to be more intentional whilst I can ( I’m much older than your average follower I’m Sure )
I enjoy the styling content - keeping me up to date.
Honestly feeling so great so far this year Anna, and remembering to be easy on myself. I've actually spent lots of today in bed feeling a bit poorly, but allowing myself to take a few hours off. I'm so sorry to hear that you've lost loved ones. It's so difficult, but really makes you think about the precious times and enjoying every moment. Sending lots of love xx

I really enjoy the lovely accommodation you show us on your short breaks. I bought the rechargeable lamp for my self and bought my granddaughter the label maker, that’s how I found out that my daughter watches your blogs too!

Good new year to you, Mikey and the pups! Your content is quite enjoyable. The mix of interior design, your home, travel, shopping, cooking (at times) is great. Sharing your personal challenges is a huge aspect to those who have had or are having similar issues. Sharing the joy is a bonus! It’s a connection and these days, I feel many are seeking that. Bravo. It takes a strong person to share their journey…openly, honestly and true to self. Mindfulness, serenity, honesty, wholeness are what I strive for and your platform aids in brining me inspiration, beauty and serenity within your home and beyond. Wow. Great list of ins and outs. i wish you the best for the new year. I am at a different period in my life than you are in yours. i am 69, retired, and quite content looking back over a life of ups, downs, and in betweens. One thing that has helped me since the age of 11 has been keeping a daily diary. It has been an outlet for me to pen my daily happenings, and also my goals. Now that i am retired, i have had time to reflect on these writings and i am so greatful i took the time to record, for instance, gifts given and received over the years, compliments, comments, criticisms. It is surprising to me to rediscover how i struggled with my sexuality in the early years. i hadn't remembered what a mess i thought my life was, but it was a different time back then. These writings help me remember how much i worried or obsessed about things (like grades, for example), but they also help me rediscover the love of those (like my parents) are are now gone.
I don't know where i am going with this....except to say perhaps if you are struggling, perhaps it would be well to try to journal. It has always provided me a ready source of a way to organize my thoughts and express myself at anytime of the day or night.
beyond this, i like your content that simply explains why you decorate the way you do. You obviously have good taste, and a pleasing style. Are you familiar with the actress Diane Keaton? she has a similar style, at least in some of the sets her movies take place in.
I don't know about you...but a long time ago i discovered that drinking wine ruined a good night's sleep for me. My partner is Asian and he physically cannot metabolize alcohol, and since we have been together (13 years), we haven't had any alcohol and haven't missed it at all. Simple pleasures instead: chocolate, ice cream, good food, tennis (lots of tennis).
Anyway, i am rambling. Don't be too hard on yourself. We all are struggling. It gets better! Best, Jerry (Portland, Or).
P.S. I liked what you said about USA homegoods having a wonderful selection. I had never considered that. I have been to Great Britain (i.e. Wimbledon) and believe me i would cherish anything i found shopping in London!
Thank you for saying so, Jerry. I've just had to zoom into your picture - I think you look about 30! That's so lovely to hear, and has really made me think a lot. I do spend a lot of time writing things down about how I'm feeling, but I think a more formal diary writing my thoughts is such a good idea. As they're often much more practical. And your thoughts about sexuality, alcohol, and other things, is so interesting and really appreciate you sharing with me.
I absolutely adore Diane Keaton, and every film she stars in - the sets are a stand out for me, of course!

Toby, remember you're weight fluctuates, you're worth doesn't! It never dawned on me that slim people could feel that way, I'm carrying a good few extra pounds due to medical conditions, I'd give anything to show of a few bone's!!! I guess we must all try to love however we are❤

I know how you feel about your weight. I grew very tall very quickly 5 " 10' by the time l turn thirteen and maybe 100 lbs. Trying to gain weight was almost impossible during my teen years, of course everyone thought it was great to eat and not gain but l was really self-conscious. I'm now a healthy weight 128 lbs. and feel great !
Keep with your goals day by day and if you miss ,try not to give up but start again and carry on. It doesn't have to be perfect to find success!!

Happy New Year Toby. At the start of the NY, we always set goals but sadly sometimes life gets in the way and as much as we want to fulfil our those achievements we cannot for whatever reason. Try not to be so hard on yourself. I think if we set these goals and they are not achieved we look back at ourselves and perhaps punish? ourselves for not completing them. We can give ourselves anxieties without even realising it. Work is not everything. Find time to do special things and taking time out for you. Take Care x
I completely agree, I do like to set goals as I like to have something to work towards and 'achieve' but completely agree they can create negative thoughts.. I guess we need to find the balance! xx

Loved hearing your ins and outs, with Oat milk out- I’ve always been a fan of specifically Alpro Soya Light (refrigerated version, very slightly different ingredients in the ambient one but also tasty) or Coconut milk normally by Rude Health, so they call it Coconut drink. Definitely important to take time and headspace for yourselves, Mikey included there ☺️ Here’s to a fantastic year ahead, excited to see what’s in store for you both. Ben x

Love you dearly and adore the cottage but please for heavens sake in the new year could we please move on from affordable scented candles and restyling trays on coffee tables. Gardening, outdoor activities perhaps visit Pooky meeting the chairman or Nicky Haslam a trip to Colefax or Chelsea Design Centre, but please step it up a notch

What do you mean by timeless and seasonality? If you don't mind please elaborate.
Of course I don't mind. I mean bringing timeless pieces into my life, rather than 'fast', completely 'trend-led' pieces. Obviously somethings you won't know, but that's a goal. And by seasonality, I'd like to try and cook, and live a little more within the seasons. Enjoying the winter and everything it has to offer for example!
When will you be 30 Dear ? Your metabolism will slow down in your 30's , the weight will come and your gonna be like WTF! I am a former hard gainer and now I have to really watch what I eat because I gain weight quickly now that I am older . Also so much time waisted being insecure in my 20's but as you get older you care less about what other people think and get more comfortable in your skin ( I still excercise and watch what I eat ) but not for the same reasons.
