I've played with this concept. It doesn't work for me either. However, because I wear all black to work I should try again for just my work clothes. I'll let you know how it goes. g
I think one problem with this whole capsule wardrobe idea is how completely generic they're presented to be. Every style blog I've read about creating a capsule wardrobe seems to include the same exact pieces in all of the exact same neutral colors. It doesn't have to be this way! You absolutely can and should customize it to your lifestyle, preferences, and the colors and cuts that flatter you, just as long as most of the pieces work together.
Interesting video! My fashion perspective is like yours but I have tried some minimalistic strategies in other areas like makeup and hairstyling. When I'm in a rush I have the 4 product look (foundation, mascara, blush and bright lip) or the 3 infallible all occasion hairstyles (soft waves, side braid and dutch braided bun). However I wouldn't mind experimenting a capsule wardrobe for 3 months but instead of limiting to 33 pieces I would adapt it to my own fashion sense including variety and statement pieces, let's say 50 pieces.
I tried Project 333. My clothes wore out in a short period of time because I was wearing the same things often. So, I ended up having to buy more clothes, which, I'm guessing defeats the purpose of Project 333.
That's why they emphasize investing in really high quality pieces and caring for them well. But yes, they're still going to wear out much faster. I guess there might be a sweet spot for the perfect sized capsule wardrobe that's small but not too small, and perfectly maximizes the price per wear of each item and doesn't have a super short life span.

I'm binge watching your videos. You're so informative and I don't understand how you don't have 100k or more subscribers.

You can do it specifically for work or specific situations- ie do a capsule for that so you don’t have to chose either or .

I like this idea for a business trip or a vacation - but I prefer variety otherwise.
