- After leaving Yellowstone, we made our way to Missoula, Montana, where we explored Garnet Ghost Town (the most well maintained in Montana), drank coffee at a spot Adam has been dying to visit for years, wandered around downtown, and had a delicious dinner!

This is the best travel channel ever. Very TV worthy in my opinion. I've been binge watching all day ☺️
You’re so dang nice, thank you!!! 😭🥰
I’m from Missoula 🙂
Woo! We love your city! 🙌🏼
Adventures of A plus K it’s pretty amazing 🙂
Just discovered your channel and I love it! I lived in missoula for a year and a half…my favorite place on earth, so it warmed my heart seeing you there. ❤️
Thanks for sharing your travels, i love your smiles, enthusiasm, and food discoveries!
Hi Alise! Thank you so much for watching and welcome to our channel! We LOVE Missoula, it is one of our favorites!
It's fun to see you both enjoying your travels while we learn
You think Missoula is great, drive north about an hour to Polson Montana and FLATHEAD LAKE. AWESOME! You will not regret it. I live there and love it. The lake is almost 30 miles long and about 15 miles wide. Simply beautiful.
That was one of our top spots we wanted to visit this summer! But then we finished the van late and couldn’t make it 😭😭😭😭 But it’s our #1 priority for next summer! We can’t wait!
Adventures of A plus K north to Polson, but go around the Mission mountains (through bigfork, swan lake, and Seely) on your way back south. Definitely an awesome scenic ride.
Ahhh thank you Jesse! Wishing we were there right now!
love love love flathead. And the missions. Moving from Missoula, my hometown, up to Pablo for college next week. can’t wait to be 15 min from the lake, it’s absolutely beautiful
@@eeeelayna Good luck at college. Just drove through there today for tacos from Mexi-express.
When someone from UA-cam comes to your town for coffee-
Y’all have so many cool coffee shops!
You should try drum coffee, and liquid planet, those are my favorite
Thanks for visiting Missoula!
Of course! We loved it!
Hope you make it. Safe journeys until then.
Thank you! 🤗
Spooky...loved the ghost town tour...how cool!!! You two continue to make me laugh...such fun personalities! Keep up the laughter! Can’t wait for the next one!
We’re now on the hunt to find more ghost towns! They are such a fun way to learn some history! Glad you enjoyed it 💗
Five on Black is also a very environmentally friendly business and all the dishes and utensils are compostable! Glad you had a positive experience in our town!
Woo! That’s what we like to hear! We could tell they cared a lot about quality and giving a great experience. 🙌🏼
I love all these videos. As an Australian, I’m living all of my American adventures through you two. But my favourite part has to be when Adam is talking to the camera and watching Kathryn look at your face while you speak…she is 1,000,000,000% in love with you. It caught my eye now I look for it. It’s really quite special.
Thanks guys:)
Another fun video, thanks you two 😃 You all should save the labels off the coffees you buy then make a wall collage with them. Then when you two decide to settle down in a house you can hang it in the kitchen and remember all your coffee adventures too 😉
Oooo love this idea!!! ☕️☕️☕️
Absolutely love your videos! Wishing you the best 💗
Thank you so much for watching Lina!
I found this channel 12 hours ago and I love your videos! Many love from Singapore!!
Aw thank you Leong! We are dying to visit Singapore! Hopefully soon! 🤞🏼
@@AdventuresofAplusK That's exciting news!!! Hopeful will get to see you on this sunny island soon!
Loved it ! The food looked soooooo good😍
Sooo good! And very unique flavors compared to what we usually eat!
Thank you for clearing up the baby walker mystery LOL. We were there in 2018 but the buildings weren't all open. We could see the walker through the window but not the card telling what it was! We loved Missoula too!
Hahahah so glad we could help!
You guys are awesome! Great vlog👍
We’re so happy you liked it! 🙌🏼💗 It was a really fun day!
You guys are adorable! Love the travel vids. You guys get great shots!
Thank you so much! ❤️❤️
Another great vlog!
Thank you so much! 🤗
A dark room with a shovel in it - that’s a bad sign. 😂 hahaha You guys are so much fun! Love your videos. Keep ‘em coming.
Lol! 🤣🤣🤣 that room gave me the creeps! And thank you so much! 🤗
You should’ve tried hoagieville. It’s a great restaurant.
We will have to check it out next time 😃
Where they put the flat screen 😂😂😂 brilliant 👍 that’s one cool looking ghost town , like they just upped an left in a hurry , great job guys 👏👏👏
Lol, I wonder how they Netflixed and chilled? 😜 Thanks Oliver! It was really neat and very well preserved!
Part of the Ghost town burned in the Ryan Gulch Fire of 2006, and I lost 8 acres of my trees also!
Great video guys!
Thank you so much!
First i owned 50 acres just sold it, just over the other side of that mountain, and those cows you saw on the road were the Weavers cows that have free range. Fred Weaver Ranch. Lived there off grid for ten yrs. and miss it with everything in me. Watch out for bears, and watch out cause I know the owners. Have fun there was a terrible fire in 2001 and another one in 2005, that looks by the looks of it, thinned out a lot of trees. Burned 8 acres of my property. But can’t remember how close it came to the ghost town.
Those cows were so cool (and gave us a good laugh!). We enjoyed Missoula and look forward to going back someday!
Adventures of A plus K when you turn left off the frontage rd to go up the Granite Ghost Town rd. And get to the fork in the rd, if you were to take a right and at that cabin, those cows always gathered there and I talked to them, up that hill and go a mile or two to the top I had 50 acres up top with horses and lived there since 1999, sold it in 2019. I really miss it but I live on the Eastside of Montana now. Still will never leave the state. It is my soul. There is so much history here. Now I live up where the great dinosaurs were found, near the Canadian border. Glasgow, Mt. Ft. Peck is a Great Lake built by the army Corp of engineers back in the early thirties contracted by President Roosevelt to create jobs for the country after the list war and great depression. It feeds off the Glacier National Park. You could spend a month in Montana and never see all of it but you would never want to leave either. I miss the Rockies more than I can say.
Hi Insta friends! Love this video. We can't wait to hit up some ghost towns!
Hi guys!!! Let us know if you find some cool ones. We can’t wait to see more!
I don't think taking a poop with the whole family would be really fun Haha. Nice vlog guys!
Lol, we totally agree! 🤣
Yeah that'd be awkward lol.
Love watching you guys walk around and talk about my home town. I think it's one of the best small cities in America. Definitely come back and hike the "M" trail. And, YES, most definitely "Go Griz!"
We love Missoula and Montana! It really is a fun little town. We’ll definitely hike the M next time!
I’ve been to garnet ghost town and I have family in one of the nearest towns, potomac montana.
That’s awesome!!
Hey A + K! I was going to catch up on your current vids, and this one came up. I had to watch. I drove up to Bannack, MT, a few weeks ago-my first ghost town! It's a Montana state park with preserved structures, not restored, and you can walk through many of the buildings. I camped in the nearby Pioneer mountains. Anyway, I'll have to add Garnet to my list of places to go. BTW, nothing beats Cracker Barrel boondocking!
Garnet was a neat little ghost town and really well restored and maintained! We'll have to check out that state park! And you're right...Cracker Barrel is something else! 😜 we are thankful they allow overnighters at most locations!
Found your blog a while ago as we are going to Waikiki in a week. Love your blogs and that you lived in the PNW! Every time I go to Missoula,MT I go to Five on Black love that place! We do a lot of hiking and in my job I work out of home office and cover-OR,WA, ID, MT, WY, ND, SD, AK and Western Canada so I have a lot of opportunities to go to many nice places. Just bought a GoPro 7 Hero to document our travels and was wondering what video editing software do you use? I've tried a few different ones and it seems very time consuming. Wishing you the best and continue to have fun on your adventures!
Hi Mark! First off, have an amazing trip next week! We’ll be envious of your warm weather as we freeze here in mountains lol!
YAY for Five on Black! That place is our perfect combination of affordable, quick, and delicious!
Your job sounds amazing! Those are some of the best states in our opinion! 😉 We haven’t been to ND, SD, or AK yet, but the goal is next year!
We use premier pro! And you’re right, it’s very time consuming 🤣 It’s a beast of a tool and we haven’t had any time to learn some of the cooler features. But one day! I used to use iMovie a lot growing up and it was much easier.
Thank you for the well wishes! 🤗
I live 17miles north of Missoula and it is one of my most favorite places. Five on Black is AMAZING, healthy and cheap but does not taste cheap. lol Very good vlog
Five on Black is the bomb! One of the best fast casual type spots we have ever been to! 😋
I have lived there for yrs I love Missoula Montana
6:04 that was most likely a coal bin room. The hole access is where the coal was shoveled through
Great video!! I was in Missoula back in May 2022 for the 10th Annual Bacon & Brew Fest (video on my channel). I hope to visit Garnet next summer.
Awesome! Thanks and thanks for watching!
I'm in Missoula right now at the University of Montana
Missoula’s my home !!
Yay! We’re loving meeting so many folks from Missoula in the comments!
We love when people visit and find some beauty in the town. Montana is a profound state. Keep Missoula weird !!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Saw this in my suggested feed- also from Missoula :p
Woo! Hi! 👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼
The store/bars building is the creepiest to me. I got some weird vibes when I went to the back room. I wouldn’t even walk in there lol. I think it was a cellar type room to keep things cool. That first house you went in has a sad back story. The owners of the house had a child and the child died. Part of the garnet did end up getting burned down. Anyways I hope you guys had fun in Montana. I live in Montana. Not Missoula but I do visit a lot. Missoula is pretty cool. If you’re ever back you should go to the Oxford.
That back room creeped us out so badly! But that totally makes sense that it was a cellar room. We had a great time and are so bummed we couldn’t explore more of the state. We will be back next summer and will check out the Oxford!
The coffee house is in an old Quonset hut building used by the military especially in WW2. They are prefabricated corrugated steel . Kinda cool that one is still used today. I wonder what it’s history can tell us?
And for the record, the M trail is not that steep
Good to know!
Hey guys! This was a video I just discovered that you posted before I started following you. Anyway, it was super helpful because Missoula will be our last stop on a 2 week MT trip (1 week to explore Glacier) that starts Aug. 28. I was considering whether we should do Garnet and now I think we should. Thanks for all you do!!
It's a fun stop! It is really well maintained for a ghost town. I remember the gravel road was long to get out there, but it was pretty smooth for a gravel road. Check out our website as well. We have some guides and itineraries for Glacier National Park. Although we didn't get to visit the east side of the park
We hope you have a great trip! A restaurant we really liked in Missoula is called '5 on Black'
@@AdventuresofAplusK Yes! I have that restaurant written down in my paperwork! My concerns and prayers are for good weather and a parking spot at Logan Pass! Lol.
Oh ya....Logan Pass! Get there as early as possible. We witnessed a screaming match in that parking lot. It can get hectic
Thats where i was born strate is missoula mt hospital.i lived on 2323 johnson street i went to franklin elementary ive went to every place you went 🤣 i miss it im i now in Pennsylvania :( i miss mt its snowing now p.a its just raining non stop no snow :(
Montana is so beautiful! We don’t blame you for missing it (we miss it too!). We plan to go back next year, so let us know if you have any recommendations!
@@AdventuresofAplusK lol kk imma sub
Very Cool Guys..Who does all the videoing
It was a very neat place! We learned so much!
Ah sorry, just saw your question. It’s mostly Adam, but we take turns!
The dark room at the 6 minute mark was originally used to store ice.
Ah cool to know! Thanks Cale!
Nice video bro
Thanks!
my cousin made me so scared at that ghost town
It’s pretty creepy if there aren’t many people around!
If you are looking for an other ghost town, not so far there is Bodie in California; the top of ghost towns is Kolmannskuppe in Namibia
We have heard that Bodie is amazing!!! I’ll have to see if our route takes us near there soon!
Let's go Stro's
🤩🤩🤩
so weird to see you guys in Missoula locations literally blocks from my house
Ah no way! We wish we could’ve run into everyone that has commented that’s from Missoula! What are some of your favorite spots in town that we should check out next time?
I was hoping to get a Sprinter 4x4 2019; unfortunately they're extremely hard to get. I'm now considering a two-wheel drive version and adding an Agile RIP kit for additional clearance and larger off-road tires. I don't believe you've done anything with your suspension/tires, have you had any issues with clearance and/or feel the need for four-wheel drive? Thanks!
Hi Ralph! We hear the 4x4s are sooo hard to get right now! We would’ve loved one just for the feeling that we could go anywhere, but we decided to save the money and not get one. We haven’t had any issues with clearance yet! We have been on a few super rough roads and we just go so slow (no joke, we went 3mph on one lol!). We mostly try to camp on forest roads and haven’t had any issues. We do read reviews though to make sure it doesn’t say we would need a 4x4. It has I guess limited us in some spots we can park at night, but we usually find another good option. We also aren’t super big snow people, so for us that made it easier to not get a 4x4. We almost got better tires, but were over budget so skipped on that for now. I hope that helps a tiny bit!
@@AdventuresofAplusK thanks for your response. I also asked a friend that spends summers on the fire and forest roads all over Idaho, Utah, Montana, etc. He feels that clearance and good tires will get you to 95% of the places. Highly recommends a good recovery kit...winch, tow straps and so on. You've both help make up my mind to go with a 2wd Sprinter and Agile suspension package. Thanks!
What is Oatly sp? Loved the ghost town ! So cool ⛏⚖️🕯⌛️🌠
Oatly is oat milk! It’s sooo good! I sometimes don’t do awesome with dairy and it’s the best milk substitute in my opinion.
How is transportation at Missoula ? If you don’t drive is there any bus or shuttle or something like that?
I believe they have a bus system, but the downtown area was super walkable too! I don’t believe there is an easy way to get to the ghost town without a car though.
🖒🖒🙌🙌🌷
👻👻👻
Billings all the way
Next time for sure!
Zoo town
What's all the locks on the bridge??
I’m not totally sure to be honest, but we have seen that a lot in Europe and on the Brooklyn Bridge too.
@@AdventuresofAplusK hmmm do u know wat bridge it is? I can do some reserach 😉
I think it’s the van buren st foot bridge! By Jacobs island!
They are love locks!!!!
I’m born and raised in mt. Didn’t live far from Garnett but it been 15-20 years so maybe that is y I don’t recognize a lot. Or y’all doing something shady
Haha definitely not something shady 🤣
Wait wait wait. U didn’t hike the M. Wtf
We didn’t have enough time 😔 We were just passing through, but definitely will next time 👍🏼
