What I always worry about when those jet skis are running around looking for a surfer who just wiped out, is that they are going to run into his head when he pops up to take a breath.

I went the Eddies by cathing the bus. I do know that a lot of people parked miles away and just walked to the event

Are you sure they were "running"? Those waves weren't even big.
+Tim Buktu It's difficult to see from the high angle of the shot but the wave they were running from had a 60ft face...one of the largest of the day.

it was huge. i remember the announcers going wild when it happened. electrifying moment.
May not look big but you also have to consider the volume of water behind that wave, alot of power.
Out of respect for the Eddie I wouldn't have flown during the contest... But very beautiful shot of the lifeguards racing away from the wave...
