I really liked this episode. I like how Anthony wasn't argumentative, or stubborn like some of the other chefs on this show. He truly seemed to want chef Ramsay's advice, and tried his best to follow it (taste everything lol) The rest of the family were equally co-operative, and I really wanted them to succeed. I really liked the proposal and wedding at the end - one of the best Kitchen Nightmares episodes I have seen.

this is a really late and random comment but im bored. i don't really get your opinion on this. i know in the end he listened but 80% of the episode he was saying gordon has no clue what he's talking about. and that the food was up to his own (anthonys) standards and that the customers were wrong.

Nice to see as Gordon's rarely nervous self when the critic came to dinner as it's his reputation on the line as well, and he really tried to motivate the chef.
I disagree, whether the critics liked the food or not, it really won’t damage his reputation. I know what you meant, I get it. But he was only there to mentor and to observe, at the end of the day it’s still the original chef/s, waiters/waitresses, and the owners who runs the restaurant. Gordon isn’t the one who is cooking and serving. It’s just like saying that a professor’s reputation will be damaged if a student isn’t performing well which is by the way not true in any sense because no matter how good you are as a mentor if the mentee is incapable of assimilating ideas properly or is consciously choosing not to take those knowledge into heart and mind then nothing good will still come out from it.
I am really impressed by this show. The humanity in it is beyond expectations.

Chef is not a major title, it’s a job. You don’t refer to someone “Manager Thompson” or “Receptionist Smith” and it’s not an official thing like when cops become “Officer Surname”. It’s cringey as when Americans make out like being a chef - and anyway, Gordon is way more than that now - is some big thing. About as cringey as when they say “I’m Italian/Irish” when one great-grandparent is and they never set foot in those countries in their lives (and actual Irish or Italians view you as American because that’s what you are). Why do you guys need to over-exaggerate everything?

Does anyone else ever watch this and wonder what Ramsay would make of your cooking? Like, I enjoyed the dinner I made for myself earlier (stewed beef with courgette, aubergine, carrot and onion) but I know he would think it was disgusting and inedible lol

As long as you don't add frozen sausages to instant ramen, i don't think he would hate it. Normal food with normal ingredients is still amazing, he would easily give it a 7/10 which is good enough for us normal people.

After spending a minimal amount of time in the Army Infantry, eating sh*t out of cans and pouches, I learned that with a little planning and effort, you can do so much better. Pack a frozen steak, a few potatoes onions and raw veggies, with your buddies doing the same. Our armored troop carriers came standard with a Coleman 2 burner stove. We ate like kings. And with stealth shopping raids into villages, keep it up for a month or more.

That's exactly what I thought, actually. I wouldn't like that at all. Of course, maybe they knew about it and it was all for show? Who knows? But if it really was a surprise like that, I don't think it's appropriate. You don't want your husband pushed into marrying you (or visa versa), and you want to plan your own wedding. I would. And I would DEFINITELY want to pick out my own dress (and preferably, my ring too; or at least have my BF pick it out - the ring).

Jan 2025 here! That's a shame they closed. It was only kitchen help and their interior aurora was fine. This was a nice special episode what Gorden did for Tiffany and Anthony and they had a blessed surprise after the pressure! 3 kids now and a chef in NYC! Congratulations on your family and your fine skills. And thank you Gordon for doing that for them❣️
I'm so happy we have yearly inspections on kitchens in Norway.
Sometimes they even come on surprise visits and if it looks like this, they get closed on the spot.
The inspectors might come back in a week...
So do the Americans, they just don't quite get there with so many restaurants, and their schedule gets known in advance so they clean up for inspection.

9:53 - i lost it when I saw 'Executive Chef" on his jacket. i don't understand why he thinks he can cook amazingly well straight out of culinary school. Doesn't he realise that we need to train under several real decent chefs, unless you have a pretty special bond with an amazing chef for several years (Gordon with Marco), that will definitely accelerate your learning curve, i wonder how many more restaurants Gordon worked in, after Harvey's, before he got to the Aubergine.

So i checked on trobiano's and turns out it closed in the year 2008....since then Anthony joined one restaurant which closed shortly after in 2011 and then he joined another restaurant in America and is the head chef there since joining....... Btw Anthony and Tiffany had three beautiful children

Most places Gordon tries to rehab usually go out of business within a year or two. It is a very tough business and many of them are so far in the hole by the time he can help. Also, some people have a dream of business ownership but, they are not cut out for it.
