Scooter life is the only way to go in the city. Harley riders may not respect you, but you will be secure in the knowledge that you are the true motorcyclist. The Harley rider takes their motorcycle out a few times a year and stares at it in their garage the rest of the time. Scooter riders daily their ride and use them for everything.
No doubt!
I own both but I don’t think HD riders are that insecure. If one is an asshole, it does not matter what brand you ride you are still going to sound like an ass.
Yiu should try a 300cc sport bike
@@rolandjosef7961 posted my scooter on r/motorcycles on reddit and all the Harley riders were telling me to delete it and called it a turd. One even said "is it a motorcycle by definition? yes. Will I wave back to you if we pass each other, not without making sure no one else is around" . Was flabbergasted by that comment.
I don’t respect anyone with a seat height below 31 inch
In Indonesia and Thailand, then went crazy modifying this. The cvt section, the engine, the electrical, even some add a turbo to their xmax. Then can really go waay faster than stock if you have the budget. Many says that this one is a comfortable ride to have a long trip. There are tons of accessories you can fit into. Products from Thai and Indo would be the best recommendation.
I used to drive nmax in Indonesia and even if i had a 1000cc motocycle in Canada,im still enjoying more the practicality and versatility of a scooter like Xmax.
Same, I have an ADV150 in Indonesia and it's great. Wish we could get one in Canada. or an nmax. But seems like in north america bikes are more for Sport and need to be high power to sell to most people.
Appreciate your presentation! Luckily will purchase this model soonest🤗
Have fun!
Very nice review! Keep it up. Just got one myself, and it's amazing, but I'm feeling some vibration in the handle, brake levers, and the seat. both on idle and while on the move. Dealer said this is normal, but I'm not sure about that. Could you give me some feedback regarding the vibration? Thanks
Great video, man. I'm glad to see another scooter fan making videos. I subscribed for ya 👌
Thanks for watching! I'll try and get out on more scooters soon! Haha
Will be checking out the Xmax this weekend and the ADV 160. My first scoot was a Kymco 49cc. Then got a ninja 250, moved to a 2010 silver wing. Commuted every day rain or shine until the company gave me a truck 2015. Now the truck is going away so back to scoot life until I retire!😊
Thanks Scotty another good one bro keep it coming
Will do dude! 🤘 Thanks for the continued support!
Literally looking to get one myself, have an mt07 but since thats my only form of transportation looking to get a xmax as a second bike so i can have some storage / wind protection etc, good video man!
Greetings from the netherlands 👌🏻
Awesome! Thanks for watching dude!
Storage is huge.
I'm subbing simply on your honest opinion of the scooter. Because being on 2 wheels is suppose to be fun, not simply a status symbol. I wish we had more scooter options here in the states. But the powers that be seem to think that we havent evolved. But their inability to offer us reasonable gas prices is forcing us to evolve to more efficient forms of transportation and fun anyways so... BRING THE SCOOTERS!
Scooters are fun to ride been riding them for years saving up for a vespa gts super 300 Right now drive a Kymco Like 150i and love it had a Honda spree back in the day elite 80 elite deluxe 150 and Yamaha Riva 125..
Great video boss! Can you please share what Helmet x Helmet Camera and mic you’re using? The audio is great and I can’t figure out what camera you have attached lol thanks!
I use a Sena 10C Pro for helmet cam and audio. It does it all in one! Highly recommend. Thanks for watching!
So many YTers don’t wear protective clothing - you’re setting a bad example fella. I’ve seen too many mates end up in hospital because they DIDN’T wear the appropriate clothing.
We need the Tmax back in the usa
I am looking at getting one in Maine, question about the rear blinkers. For some reason on your version, they are LED integrated in the taillights. But on the Yamaha website and the dealership's website I am looking at, they are these ugly incandescent ones attached on the left and right side of the license plate holder. Any idea why there is an inconsistency in the US like this?
I see they have tidied up the rear light cluster on the US variants.
love my 2023
Is aerox model available in your country? it's much smaller CC though 155cc
Hi me evel good day! Congrats on your vlog very informative . I just want to ask what brand of helmet and the helmet camera you used? Thank you very much ill appreciate it so much. Ride safe…
Hey James! Scotty here! Thanks for watching, I wear a Fly Racing Revolt ECE Helmet and use a Sena 10C Pro for my camera/intercom setup.
@@evelkestriegel thank you very much ride safe sir!!!
I use the TMax 550 tech 2022 it’s got a smaller size under seat storage.
I had cbr1000. Practicality is huge with scooters. I even like max 155 vs Xmax 300 which I did ride both in the city and short commute 155 is good enough but xmax will be appreciated ❤
Beautiful bike, facelift 🏍👌😎
I’m running a Honda grom for my daily utility but sometimes it’s getting old wearing a backpack everywhere. I very much want to get one of these for 1. The wind protection 2. Highway capability 3. Storage. I also own a Multistrada V4S with a 33.1 inch seat height with a 31 inch inseam so I think from a seat height perspective this shouldn’t be much of an issue. The problem is finding one to my liking! :)
Regarding seat height, Yamaha do an official low seat which is 40mm lower - just over 1 1/2 inches.
The problem with that low seat is you lose the ability to store helmets underneath the seat; for that reason I will skip it. (I did end up picking up a 2023 Xmax, and didn’t find the seat height all that bad).
@@themystx2 Thanks for the info.
why no lumbar support?
I have a PCX150 in Thailand, thinking of getting this for Houston and getting around town
I've been looking at the xmax 300 ,pcx160 and adv160 and kymco 300 . Not sure which one is the right one for me . I'm leaning towards the xmax. Thanks for the great video.
The xmax is awesome, I really like the adv160 too though. Can't go wrong either way. Xmax is faster though
@@evelkestriegel Thanks for your reply and your video.
what is color?
On the highway, what is the maximum speed in XmasX?
Liked but I drive en the I,-85 inter state North Carolina more or lesse 20 miles to work .
🤔
Thanks for the video really liked👌🏻
I can't speak for a true top speed but I had it up to 75 mph and the bike wasn't struggling at all
I got it up to 90 mph indicated on flat ground with your head tucked behind the windscreen. (I own a 2023 US spec Xmax). You’ll probably skew 5 mph in either direction depending on the road slope.
As a Honda ADV rider, Im looking at this for my next larger scooter. I love the ADV, but it is a bit on the slower side. So I am looking for a slightly faster bike as my second.
I am looking into an ADV 350 or Xmax 300. I thought the ADV was the faster one? Most reviews say that the ADV is superior to the Xmax. I like them both and don't know which one to choose. 🙂
@@kristofvanheukelom5317 If you have the option to get the ADV350, that would be my advise every time. However, the last time I heard anything, Honda did not have any intention of bringing the ADV350 to the US. That is my issue.
@@vine1313 thanks for the recommendation! I live in Europe (Belgium). Both are on the market here. 🙂
@@vine1313 well i test them both.i dont know what people saying but personally i dont like scooters much .2 of my friends own them so i ride them very often.the yamaha is superior than honda.people saying adv have very good suspension.no it have not.i almost lost my kidney lol.both scooters have suck suspension but i found the suspensions of yamaha softer but with good handlings.the seat position on yamaha is soooooooo much better than honda.you have double space for your feets than honda.the honda have better front suspension that yamaha.its bigger and stronger and it works better but lets be honest you dont need the front suspension on a scooter as you need the rear one thats why i choose yamaha at this part.now about perfomances hmmmm i dont know how much hp are those scooters but the yamaha is more aggresive for sure.the consumption......hmmmm not even close .i push both bikes and i saw 4.2 at yamaha and 5.8 at honda .
brakes:equal .both bikes have great brakes i admit that.maybe honda are a bit better.build quality .most times at this part iam at the honda side but the quality of the xmax is much better than adv350.
overall my friend the xmax rolling better ,much better ,its smoothy scooter with less vibrations.tbh i was suprised a lot with that yamaha because it gives you a strange feeling that you are safe on it ,in the other honda have a weird driving position which i didnt liked much.they tried to bring it on adv style but they failed.
well i give 9/10 to yamaha and 7/10 to the honda.
I went from a Triumph Speedmaster to an X Max 300....rarely get a wave returned....but I still give everyone on two wheels the "Nod"...including the Pizza delivery Guy....
How does it drive? I've never owned a scooter or a motorcycle with an automatic transmission. Is it comfortable on the highway?
@@nerychristian Very comfortable cruising at 70...but will do 95 at a push, very little windblast and protection from a lot of the rain....if you ride "rally car" style, throttle on and drag the back brake a little , you can carve corners on the twisties which can surprise some bike owners....
@@nerychristian It's fine at 70....all day....if you are allowed to filter in traffic where you are, they also make a perfect traffic carver
Idk where your at..must be bunch azz holes.. because I ride my ruckus and almost always get the universal motorcycle wave from 9 out 10 other riders, iam in Pittsburgh and people are mostly respectful of anyone on 2 wheels, I actually wave nod at regular bicyclists!
Yamaha bring back the T-MAX!
What clamp is that attached to your side mirror, sir?
It's a go pro mount for handlebars
Does the seat lock when your away from the scoot.?
Yes, the scooter has a key fob so it will only unlock when you're next to it and have the switch in the proper position.
@Evel KeStriegel that's good. I thought so. Im in nj and most roads are highways. Says online it would last up to 100,000 miles.
Absolutely love my Vespa GTS 300, but this might be my next Scooter! Just like Motorcycles, all scooters have different feels….I’m just not narrow minded enough to not enjoy different rides!
Can’t decide .. Xmax 300 or ADV 160.. 50 years young and haven t ridden since I was 15.. a Honda elite 80.
they're very similar in a lot of ways but the Yamaha is substantially faster and has more features. the ADV 150 is awesome looking though
The leg position looks so weird in driving...could you tell us how tall you are? Thank you
Sure! I'm 5'10" with a 30" inseam
I’m short. My pants inseam is 29. I got a low seat from Germany , not available in the USA unfortunately. I’m tip toeing both legs now.
I have the same inseam and I agree that the scooter is a tad tall for those that are not comfortable tip toeing at stops. It's an odd choice considering the scooter audience
29” inseam as well. Where did you get the low seat from? Link?
Oh, the seat in the video is the stock seat. I think you'll probably be alright with the stock one as long as you're comfortable with a little tip toe feel. As far as an aftermarket lower option... I don't know if one yet
Given all my full sized motorcycles had 32.5-33.1 inch seat heights with a 31 inch inseam, this scooter didn’t bother me at all. The trick is to shift your butt to the left side when coming to a stop. It’s muscle memory to me at this point.
How many miles can this scooter take before looking for a new one?
If taken care of and maintained at every interval, I'd say at least 50k
@@dank9288639 thanks for answering
how much OTD?
I'm gonna guess just over 7k with MSRP being $6,099
7600.00 out the door
In OK and AR $7000 OTD
Great ❤ video. We are waiting for this update here in Brazil 🇧🇷 which only resells the 250cc version. Likewise, we are expecting the Zontes E350 to be sold as well. Looking forward to either one. Greetings.
Don’t ride in shorts? I’m guessing you’ve never been to the Philippines.
It looks like yamaha is making a low budget version of the xmax for the United States. On all yamaha advertising videos, the xmax 300 has a different seat, different paint, different colored rims on the wheels and different tires. From michelins to Dunlops, from blue and bronze colored rims to black rims, from a couple of different colors to flat white and the seat having an extra lumbar support to barely a hint of lumber support. It's like yamaha is doing the old bait and switch, advertising one thing and when you get to the store, all they have is this budget model.
What's up with that?
Anyone on a motorcycle that doesn't give the wave isn't someone that rides for the love of riding. Because at the end of the day 2 wheels is always best I don't care what you ride.
Would not use the music thing. The weather thing. All naff. Dont need navigation.
I agree
scooty scoot!
the suzuki its not so popular as you saying here at europe.i think its at the bottom
Dude, you aren't wearing any gear. You planning to be the guy missing a leg at the motorcycle shop?
🤣🤣🤣🤦♂️🤷♂️ I did make a point to say that in the video 🤣🤘 it was an impromptu ride and I had a MTB ride planned right afterwards 😅
In USA I find that a little common for people not to wear full safety gear.
Anyway it’s a very good review and a very nice scooter.
Personally always wear full safety gear even if I’m only going a mile.
I’ve got a brand new XMax and a brand new blacked out Triumph T 120.
Cheers NZ.
Hi I loved the total video BUT NO SAFTY GEAR THIS IS TOTALY WRONG !
Roads in Amerika sucks big time last village in Europe have better roads. Mindfields and corn fields banana republic
It's admittedly not the best part of town tbh 😅🤷♂️ we have nice roads elsewhere. Clarksville is... Well... Kind of a dump 😂
A "experienced motorcycle rider"...in shorts....um...no.
lol I specifically apologized for the shorts... the ride was on... "short" notice and I wasn't prepared. 🤷😅
Yeah, who gives a darn about "hardley" riders. Go waste your money on 1920's technology. Many won't even acknowledge me as I pass them on my mt10. 🖕 would probably be the appropriate gesture😂.
😂😂🤙
The xmax cost ard 22000-32000 singapore dollars , overpriced :(
Go buy a 4 runner ….
we asian cannot flat foot xmax :(
I struggle as well haha. It's so tall!
ADV 350 beats this bikenin every aspect
We don't have an ADV 350 stateside yet but I agree that it looks amazing.
And the price as well.
