I haven't tried a C5, but I may reach out and see if I can get one to truly give that a try. No one has asked. Love it! Though the only thing I find that sometimes is annoying is when I ride with the visor fully open and the sun shield down, I get a hint of wind noise. Other than that, I love this helmet and its integration with the SC-2 comm system. So great!
The C5 was largely unavailable when I got. much more widely available. For the review and the test, I didn't need the peak, but last fall, in Africa (Tunisia, Morocco), I used it. I need the E2; it's nowI love the shade it provides when riding into the late afternoon sun!
I bought one last year. I like mine and the speakers and FM radio is great.
Good to hear! I love it, though interestingly I haven't tried the FM radio!! Need to do that!

I got a C5 shield for a extra for my E2. It is interchangeable with the E2 shield and peak. No noticeable difference in wind noise.

Why didn't you try it with the peak? The C5 is better if you doesn't like the peak.
