This hit me right in the feels. Been focusing too much in presenting a high quality paint job and assuming that's going to automatically lead to great sales with more money for me. Big mistake. Now I see why other companies do jobs that don't even look as good as mine and yet they manage to charge more...I guess they focus more on having great sales people. Find a balance of both (craftsmanship and salesmanship) and you'll be golden. Thanks for the video!

I’m curious how do you do estimates in the car? Do you have certain templates for bidding? I love your content and your strategies on production rates. Sometime I find my self doing bids for 4 hrs on a complete interior. I’m curious on how to make this process much quicker.

I can run estimates simply over the phone with a few questions. Or Atleast build a base bid. Once you paint enough you’ll devise a way that you can calculate costs on jobs quickly.

Way too complicated... what people really want is to be listened to. The customer has a problem... solve it! Really listen to your customers and genuinely care about them and you will always get jobs. This goes for residential, commercial and industrial.

It does work. I never advertise and operate at the high-end of the spectrum. I know what customers want and I deliver. As far as watching this video goes... I will leave you with this... "as soon as you stop working on yourself, including your business, you have ceased to progress". I watched the video because I searched for something else related to painting and came upon it... so purely out of curiosity. Getting insulted about someone disagreeing with you is not a good sign for creating a successful enterprise. Your market is painting contractors that are not running their businesses correctly... so you are inherently working with failed systems, which is fine, but also explains why your views are low. You are making a complicated process out of an industry that needs more streamlining it its systems and procedures. Not to mention an underrated and underappreciated industry. I would suggest target-marketing average painting contractors as those are the ones that might listen and benefit from your theories.

I never advertise... lol... you're a real mogul... sorry dude, this guy will forget more about about helping folks blow up their painting companies that you'll ever know... get a life...

Reverting to insults... a true sign of ignorance... no need for that here... if you have a different opinion, you are obviously welcome to it, but your insults are less than admirable in this venue.

take your own advice... I've watched all of brendan vids (and the accompanying feedback) and you're the only one who's acted like that... I guess there's always one... lol...

Your response takes no logic into consideration. There is very little feedback on these videos thus far so your comment has little basis. Not to say Brendan´s methods will not help some regular market painters, but there is a level beyond that market which is rarely tapped and that market does not involve competing and selling. It involves a whole level of thinking beyond that. That is where I am coming from. You are citing references from guys that need this type of thing. I am citing the fact that there are super high-end clients out there that are tired of firing regular market painters when that is actually not what they have been seeking for so long. You are missing the point and instead of engaging, you are simply flailing insults, thereby revealing your lack of understanding. It is not serving you well in this forum and only perpetuating the general consensus of painters in the U.S.
