I would watch the Korean princess one. A fool trained by his ex princess wife then gone on to be a military hero? I mean, who wouldn't want to watch that?
AceOfShades no Mulan went to war in the place of her father because he was too old and she went as a man because they only allowed sons. Also when she went to fight, she had no experience fighting she had to learn it like all the other men who were sent. In this story it's a princess who takes her father's threats of marrying the fool seriously. She takes her jewels and sells them to help them live and she trains him to be a badass warrior because she already had that training. Two different stories.
"How do you Disney-fy that" IDK they managed to make the tragic story of an 11 year old little girl getting raped and kidnapped and living the rest of her life miserable and then making a her love interest said raper and kidnapper AKA POCAHONTAS
If Disney wanted to badly enough, they'd find a way to make these into movies. FFS, they've completely rewritten the relationship between Native Americans and colonists and revised Cinderella's sisters cutting their own feet off... among other things. We know what they can do when they put their collective minds to it. They're Disney.
If they can turn the tragic tale of Pocahontas into a Disney movie, they can do just about any story. And then there will be the jaw dropping shock of how that so didn't happen.
A few of these....I could see Disney possibly taking them on. I mean, they did Atlantis, which was probably one of their more mature ones in terms of people fighting each other, and number of characters getting killed. Beauty and that Beast, and Tarzan were also pretty dark.
Man I was so scared of Iara when I was a kid. My mom used to tell me that if I desobeyed and went to the deep part of the river Iara would grab me by the ankles drag me down and eat me. She could have just told me I could have drowned, it would have been better than the killing mermaid ;^;
ok... when I hear rejected I think theses were princesses that Disney was thinking about making a movie of but then got shelved. Then are not rejected if they are not even considered.
You disnefy iara by saying she fell into the lake because she was running away because she accidentally hurt her mean brothers and the fish saved her and turned into a mermaid
Iara was my favourite fairytale as a little girl, but the fairytales I was read as a little girl are a lot different to the actual tale. They are pretty much Disney-fied stories. Iara belonged to a Brazilian Indian tribe. One day a tribal elder told her to collect some corn and showed her the route. She sang with the birds, played with the fish and then fell asleep. When she awoke it was night and she was afraid, but could not go back to the tribe, so she stayed the night. When she woke, she was happy and singing. Then two jaguars (which is symbolic of the two brothers) chased her, and the fish (who are now her friends) told her to jump into the water. She jumped into the water, and no one knows for sure what happened, but she turned into a beautiful mermaid who lures men into depts because she hates being alone. Pretty Disney-fied already I believe
Disney-fy iara by making her fall into the ocean after running away from her mean brothers (like Cinderella's stepsisters) in a storm. The fish, seeing her pure soul, save her and turn her into a mermaid.
@@Fernandanatac Maybe it's during a storm, and the river is wild, dragging her far off from others eyes, where the fish finds, and transforms her, in a bid to save her.
Correction regarding Boudica: She and her army were actually better at battle. In the battle where Boudica and her troops lost was in a narrow pass. Boudica's army used elongated swords to increase their swing radius. Due to the narrow pass, they were unable to properly use their swords (unless they wanted to kill each other off in the process). This left the army's defense at a disadvantage, and resulted in most of the army being slaughtered.
I had read many years ago that they were excellent in quick strikes and guerrilla war fare. But the Romans were better at 'drill' type executions. Also, she had actually 'won' and Cesar had called the troops back home. But there was this 'one' fellow who could not live with the idea of being defeated by a WOMAN! He pleaded with Cesar to let him return to try 'one more time' to defeat the Iceni Queen. She and Hatshepsup have always been my two favorite ancient female leaders.
At school, I learned that the Celts told their families to come watch the war so they came on wagons. When the Celts tried to fall back they couldn't because their families were in the way. Also the Romans were on a hill with a forest behind them which would've given them an advantadge.
PEOPLEEEEE!!!! There is a corean drama named "My Only Love Song" that is related to the princess Pyongyang (plus time travel) story, it's truly amazing and you can find it on Netflix (or other stream sites, google it!). Really, go!
It's kinda close. Romans knew her as Boadicea. Which in actual Latin pronunciation would be "boa-dick-ya" (not the "boa-dish-ya" in modern Church Latin). In Welsh, her name is Buddug, pronounced something like "bithig."
Ariel is my favorite princess because her singing, etc. Is so fascinating. The part where Ursula (or however you spell it) applies the lipstick from sea leaves or something is my favourite part. Idk why
Which goth are you talking about? Visigoth, Gothic period, or gothic subculture (which is still the damn weirdest name as it's more a celebration of a macabre Victorian/Edwardian era rather than anything of the gothic period or Visigoth people.)
A really badass lady from mid-eastern folklore is Scheherazade. Not only she is a beauty, but she has nerves of steel and well read with a quick wit as she tells an embittered Sultan stories within stories to delay her execution. 1001 nights later they got married and lived to the end of their days.
um haha no she wouldn't. while i adore the story of persephone and hades, it would not be appropriate. persephone was born after demeter was raped by her brother, zeus. when she grew up, her uncle, hades became infatuated with her and kidnapped her against her will. demeter was furious, and went to zeus, but he refused to help her. so she threatened hades and zeus, telling them that if persephone was not returned then she would not let any food grow, causing millions of people to die. and in retaliation, hades didn't let any dead people into the underworld, meaning there were zombies just roaming around. he ended up tricking persephone into eating the pomegrante so she'd have to stay. pretty dark story. however i think the story of psyche and eros would be perfect, as psyche is a great role model and it's an adorable story (and the dark bits can be easily removed).
Arthur Kirkland While I agree, considering how Disney watered down Hercules to the point of having Hera as a loving mother. I’m sure they’d have no trouble watering down Persephone’s story into a love story

Anyone else dying about how he pronounces Boudicca 😂 he says bodiqua wich is amazing😂😂 I'm from England so we were all taught it was pronounced boo-Di-ka 😂
Omg I cringed every time he said Boo-dee-qwa 😂😂 I mean I know some people say Boo-di-kah and some say Bow-da-see-ah but I have NEVER heard someone say it like that! 😂😂😂
Boudica honestly should've gotten the movie over Brave. Brave's gender plot didn't even make any sense because it took place in a pre - Christian era along with Boudicca meaning that the Druids would've still been in charge. Druid society had men and women pretty much 99% equal to each other with women having to work slightly harder to achieve political positions if they came from a lowly family. Merida's Mother literally had ZERO reason to complain about her daughter using bows and swords from a historical standpoint.
Ching Shih was a badass pirate captain in china who held off an entire naval fleet for years. She is definitely the kind of empowering lady id like to see in a Disney film
Agnes also had a secret passage to smuggle food into her castle while it was under seige so when the English forces thought that they were all starving, they were having a feast.
also, there was this really good princess story, so here goes. A princess lived in her palace with her father. he loved her very much, but one day, the palace was attacked, and her father sent her away. she met monks, who trained her to fight. she lived with them, and even shaved her head like them. one day, she was in town, only to find a girl being attacked by theives. the princess saved her, then left. later on, the girl's family was threatened by the theives, and they said if she didn't marry their leader, they would take and destroy EVERYTHING. the girl said that if she could beat the leader in a fight, he had to leave forever. if he won, she would marry him. she went away to train with the princess. the princess taught her kung-fu for a few years, until the promised day came. the girl left to fight the theif. she beat him, and saved the day. great story, huh?
Disneyfied Version Iara was a strong and beautiful warrior. Everyone loved her except her two brother who planed to put her into a bamboo boat and let her be drifted away by the river. The bamboo broke and she was drowning and when she was about to drown. She turned was into a mermaid by an anaconda she decided not to kill earlier in the story. Meanwhile, a bunch of soldiers are in the island and plans to chase the Amazonians away and a boy goes to seek Iara believing she's still alive in the forest. When he finds her he asks her to stop the soldiers and she agrees. Sending anacondas to the soldiers. The boy decides to follow Iara back to the river.
I would watch the Korean princess one. A fool trained by his ex princess wife then gone on to be a military hero? I mean, who wouldn't want to watch that?
There is a K-Drama you can watch on Netflix that also deals with the story
Maybe that could help with waiting for a Disney movie 😉
Johanna What's the name of it?
'My only love' I think.
Johanna Ok and Thanks
Insanity Lover its my only love song and it's realllyyyy goooddd!!
A woman training a useless man into a badass warrior? Thats perfect for modern day Disney.
James Brice That's Mulan, only crossdressed.

I so agree that that's my daughter
YASSS queen that woups be perfect for modern day Disney but the prob won't do it since is to similar to Mulan
Am I the only one that would watch ALL of these movies. They all sound so good, and look badass.
Hailee Williams you’re not alone
Yes, I rather watch them so much more
"How do you Disney-fy that"
IDK they managed to make the tragic story of an 11 year old little girl getting raped and kidnapped and living the rest of her life miserable and then making a her love interest said raper and kidnapper

POCAHONTAS
😢 and they turned it into such a great love story
the black panther queen would later go on to found wakanda

you're brazillian, right ?
Brazilian squad yoooo

Haha that's funny, she was my favourite when I was little. Her and curupira. But the story I was told was very light hearted.
mano tua mãe é louca. hahaha
What? Rejected disney princess means they were gonna use it but then didn't.
panther queen is a good band name
Yes
Captain Tanooki totally!!
Especially if Black Panther becomes huge.
Ro and mo
Wow I can't believe Disney rejected some of those, those would have made amazing movies
Introducing a Korean princess and using Japanese, Chinese women images.... what? 😂
ann parki know right.. WTF😂
I'd really like to see some of these. Maybe not as Disney Princess movies, but just as normal movies...
I liked the panther witch that was shrouded in mystery and Korean princess that turned the fool into a warrior
COME ONE DREAMWORKS MIGHT ALREADY ON THEIR WAY MAKING THESE PRINCESSES IN THE BIG SCREEN.
Lovi Lyall
Ikr
Lovi Lyall yeah.... probably more pretty
E.T. Emoji
Lovi Lyall true that
Lovi Lyall THANK YOU! Someone remembers my precious DreamWorks
wtf they need to make an iara movie that sounds dope
They do
Extremely dope.
The story of Pyongyang could totally be a Disney story
There's even a kdrama on it
Elizabeth George then again, she's named after the capital of North Korea, or its named after her
natasha rules
Nah I'm pretty sure she was born way before the creation of North Korea
Terri Ly yeah, but today her name is also the name of the capital of N.K, wouldn't that be a problem considering the current N.K issues
natasha rules
Yeah, that is true
The Panther Queen is so badass. I would've loved to see that on disney even as a child.
Dione's Disciple Black Panther
Why does everyone pronounce Celt like it's an "S" sound? It's a "K" sound smh
Also what is up with the way he pronounces Boudicca?
Exactly!
Thinking the same!
Many don't know, or think of that Sports Team.

The Korean story of Pyongyang was turned into a Korean dramedy
YoInTrouble what is it called?
What's the name of the drama???
Dreamy Its more of a dramedy then just a drama. It's called "my only love song" and its on netflix.
YoInTrouble I️ was planning on watching that but now that you say it I’m definitely gonna binge watch it tomorrow 😂
In ‘The Princess and the Frog” they cut off the prince’s finger, so I think they can make an exception for some of these...
Pariness I thought it was his eyes...
No they did not, it was literary a single drop of blod in the talisman smh
Arely Castañeda omg lol
Never mind I’m thinking about rapunzel
In the OG princess in the frog. Tiana had to either kill the frog or throw him against the wall to lift the curse.

Nina A. I was thinking about this when I saw this video! I love that Netflix original

Ikr! And white sirens, I was like "really man?". Native americans are not white or black.
ikr.

probably because his white lmfaooooo

Camille Giraud you don’t think dark skin people could be from South America I’ve seen some dark Brazilians so?
Sarraouna is technically in Disney. It's in one episode of the tv show Gargoyles

Omg I cringed every time he said Boo-dee-qwa 😂😂 I mean I know some people say Boo-di-kah and some say Bow-da-see-ah but I have NEVER heard someone say it like that! 😂😂😂
Who is this "Boudiqua" you speak of?
You mean Boudica?
Ask google. Google knows everything...
I think he was taking the piss of the terrible pronunciation.
Cheaminks g
We do know what happened to Boudicca, she killed herself by drinking poison after being defeated by the Romans and captured.
Serial Margaret Cleopatra died of a (self inflicted) snake bite from an asp.
I want to watch the mermaid one
Boudica honestly should've gotten the movie over Brave. Brave's gender plot didn't even make any sense because it took place in a pre - Christian era along with Boudicca meaning that the Druids would've still been in charge. Druid society had men and women pretty much 99% equal to each other with women having to work slightly harder to achieve political positions if they came from a lowly family. Merida's Mother literally had ZERO reason to complain about her daughter using bows and swords from a historical standpoint.
I would not want to see a disneyfied Boadica, but that girl that turned a fool in to a hero is awesome
I think the Princess PyongYang would be a great movie.
Um we know how Boudicca died. She was captured and decided to kill herself as to not bring shame upon her name
Blueberry how do you know
Blueberry .....Bravo!!!
Armarni Thomson ....Because WE KNOW HER FULL STORY! And +Blueberry is Quite Correct!
The piratequeen Anne Bonny who lived in 1698
Ching Shih was a badass pirate captain in china who held off an entire naval fleet for years. She is definitely the kind of empowering lady id like to see in a Disney film
Agnes also had a secret passage to smuggle food into her castle while it was under seige so when the English forces thought that they were all starving, they were having a feast.

You pronounced both Boudica and Celts wrong. It's Boo-di-ka and Kelts phonetically.
Why all the African pics when talking about Brazile.?
There is also the Huron (?) Maiden of Summer and so many more..
For the love of Mike, half of those 'African tribes' were Aboriginal tribes from AUSTRALIA.

Just because the skin is black. Doesn't mean we can't be apart of another culture
I wouldnt mind Iara
also, there was this really good princess story, so here goes.
The Korean princess one is on Netflix called my only love song

So...Iara could be a mixture of The Lion King and Peter Pan. Disney already lied about Pocahontas, they could definitely do Iara.
Disneyfied Version
Iara was a strong and beautiful warrior.
