Four years ago my friend wanted to be a balloon handler at the Philadelphia Thanksgiving parade. I said sure, I’ll do it too. So, we get there Thanksgiving morning to find that we were assigned to candy canes. Not Sonic or Waldo, no, candy canes. That year was extremely cold and windy. So, instead of walking through the city streets we would only be walking in front of the Art Museum so that the people at home could see the balloons because who cares about the people who stood outside in 17 degree weather? Anyway, it was almost our turn when a gust of wind caught the candy canes. I tried to get my rope under control and wound up face planting on 24th Street. So instead of getting to walk around the Parkway holding my balloon I got a ride in an ambulance to the emergency room. Yes, just another run of the mill Thanksgiving.
I think we need to start a drinking game while watching Steph and Pam. Every time they show something (chart or fabric) that is discontinued or no longer in print we take a shot. By the end of the show we won’t care we can’t get it. Also, I love it when Steph gets close to the camera and talks directly to us.

Hello Pam and Steph! This past Saturday I finished one of my WIPs! Yay! I was so happy and excited! I went to show the hubby what I finished. As I was walking away, he said “I didn’t hear the bell”. Honesty, his statement just zipped right by me because of my excitement in my finish. A few minutes later, here he comes to my stitchy spot with the egg timer. I hear the ticking and I’m looking at him like he’s lost his mind. He’s holding up a finger and says “ wait for it”. Then the bell goes “ding”. I’m still in the dark. He looks at me and says…you guessed it. “Happy Finishes Everyone!” Needless to say we both lost it laughing so hard!!🤣🤣. Who knew… he does listen and really does care about my stitching completions! He’s a keeper! Thank you again ladies for the wonderful laughs!!

Sunday is the first day of the week. I used to be a monogamous stitcher, but thanks to floss tube, my stitching has balloon (ed) into multiple projects!

It was my birthday a couple weeks ago and a sweet family that has "adopted" me (I'm a widow) brought a birthday cake balloon--they were so sweet to remember me. I had it floating above my stitchy chair for about a week and a half before I deflated it. Who knows, it might have kept floating there until my next birthday! Thanks for your entertainment. I love having you with me at my dining room table each week for a visit. And I always think of Sunday as the first day of the week.
A ride in a hot air balloon is on my bucket list! But since that is an expensive venture, for now I will stay home and stitch! Thank you ladies for my weekly giggles!

Hi from Canada. I am a new cross stitcher this year and my sister Frances put me onto your channel. I’ve been enjoying watching you both and love the content. Going on three weeks ago, I took a spill on my bike and broke my knee and shattered my shoulder. Yup. A brand new shoulder was the result of that!!! I haven’t been able to stitch for the past four weeks. Recovery is coming along and I was excited to pick up my stitching today for the first time. I was afraid I might have been over confident and was worried I’d “burst my own BALLOON 🎈 “. However, I’m happy to report although slow, I am back in the game!!

You always make me laugh! I was, as always happy to start a new school year in my classroom, but this year, I am experiencing one HUGE problem! That problem is, I have to wait until much later in the week to watch you! You are both so educational, I feel like there might be a way to sneak you into my classroom teaching....I'll keep pondering how to do that! It would be easy if I taught math (because see math), or social studies (stitch harmony), but I teach middle school English, so I'll have to keep thinking creatively!

You ladies are so funny and a joy to watch. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Christmas ornaments is a balloon. Santa uses one when his sleigh is in for service.
Maryland is the home of the Preakness ( horse race). They have a wonderful hot air Balloon festival each year. It’s amazing. Thanks for sharing stitching.
I love Beatrix Potter as well. We visited her house Hill Top about 4 years ago and that area is just stunning. There’s also a museum in a neighbouring town that’s called The Beatrix Potter Experience and my kids loved it. I feel inspired to dig out some patterns I have now with Peter Rabbit on them. It’s a bank holiday Monday here in the Uk today and my family have just been to the cinema and out for a meal - which was lovely but I feel a bit like a balloon right now- I may have overindulged. I’m glad I’ve just been able to sit and stitch whilst watching you guys to recover a bit now 😂 xx

Hi ladies. I am using a plastic Nurge hoop and it holds my fabric pretty tight. The plastic hoop has a ridge inside which I think helps hold the fabric tighter - this particular hoop is a rectangle shape which I find easy to use as I am a stab and poke stitcher. See you next week 🙂
Hot air balloon festival with about 500 balloons is a yearly event in Albuquerque. Should be on everyone’s bucket list!

I live in Colorado, and every year we have an annual Hot Air Balloon Fest. It’s so fun to see them launch and also to talk to their “pilots.” The flames that are used to launch them were shocking to me the first time I saw them. I don’t know if I would feel comfortable riding in one of these balloons, but they sure are pretty to see, especially at night.
This is going to show how old I am, but back in the day there was a song by The Fifth Dimension with the words “up, up and away in my beautiful balloon” that I absolutely loved. Steph won’t know the song, but maybe Pam remembers it! Great video as always, ladies. And have a good week.

I just want to thank the two of you for your fantastic talents at enabling! So many amazing projects/charts/floss & fabrics...thank goodness I don't have a LNS near me or I my stash would swell like a hot air balloon! Not that it isn't already the size of a monstrous beach ball but hey, we all need our little hobbies don't we? I can't get my hubby to understand that growing the stash and actually doing the projects are two separate (yet complimentary) hobbies, lol! Thanks for the laughs...take care of you 🤗❤

I just love watching you too . The story of Leeann has so touched me since I am in the same situation . I have never been on a retreat and hoping to stay well enough to go to stitch con this year . I just have gone down the rabbit hole of floss tube in the last 6 months. I watch all day and stitch which has been my personal therapy through all of this and the ultimate hoorah would to meet so many of the people that I bring into my life daily and they have no idea what they have done for me as far as strength and inspiration. Stitch con seems like a hell of a good time to kind of go out on . So hopefully I will be able to attend . You two are the best and starting my week off .

Every time I see the "Shores of Freedom" posted in Pam's American Trilogy SAL, the song "Up, Up, and Away in my Beautiful Balloon " comes to mind. I supported my LNS with Expo purchases too. I love the balloons when the stores used to give them out to the little ones. They loved it when they get it, but cry when it inevitably joins all the balloons in the sky. I used to stop their crying by telling them they go to the doggies and cats in heaven. 💕💕🌸
Another great episode ladies. Was at a fair here in my hometown in Australia last weekend, great fun. Brought back memories of when my children were young lining up to get their helium filled balloon 🎈 .......only to see it disappear into the sky when it wasn't properly tied to their arms. The tears! The screams 😱 ! Then queueing up again! Saw the looks on so many parents faces and couldn't help but chuckle. Bloody helium balloon.

I absolutely love Shannon Christine Designs, so excited to see you show her design! Really enjoy watching y’all! Many years ago I took several packs of balloons that had glow stick in them to a family reunion. Once it was dark outside, we turned off all the lights inside and threw the glowing balloons at each other in the dark and had a balloon fight! Such great memories!
My mom passed away in 2019 but every year we would go to the balloon fest. Great memories of time with my mom.

Great video ladies, love your stitching. Pam, I think our Witch's Pie would look good finished on an old black book, you can find at Goodwill stores or second hand shops. Something different and interesting.
My dad told that he got a balloon from a market when he was a little. When he went home in a bus the balloon exploded and other passengers laughed. Balloons were not so common here at that time and dad didn't buy his kids those because he knew how sad we would be when the balloons breaks. Thank you for a lovely flosstube. You have so pretty projects and fun stories.

Hey girls. Great video. A couple things I think Sunday is the first day of the week. I don’t know why. Maybe just calendars? Next I think it’s a bear under the tree on the Beatrix potter stitch. But I’ve been known to see things….. remember those pictures craze back in the 90’s that you had to stare at and then see a 3 d picture. Took me the longest time to figure out that. My husband wouldn’t tell me what it was. Love Steph’s shirt. I’m a life long Tigers fan but moved to Colorado 40 years ago and now I’m a Rockies fan. About to move to Florida. Who knows who I’ll chose down there. I will get to see spring training. Love the Lizzie Borden stitch. Anything historical is up my alley. Have a great week girls.
