    Just did a interior on a 2003 Cadillac Deville 32 valve North Star. Silver Metallic paint and Chrome factory rims. Tan Leather interior. Never cleaned the interior in the whole ownership. Used Vinegar and glass cleaner and water with 20 drops of Dawn dish soap. Cleaned very well! Then used Weiman leather cleaner and Conditioner and Mother's VLR together. Let it sit for 20 minutes. Wiped off Conditioner and VLR wiped off with Microfiber towel. It has a Lemon smell. Clean and freshed the Leather. The driver seat had some small cracking. Restored the moisture back into the Leather interior. Shawn

    YES Sandro, THANK YOU! You have to remember we all love your content and with the last 10 -15 videos being paint correction and updates it's good to see a change up from a great detailer with a nice following... Cloth seats, carpet, and the most hated seat belt, it would be nice to see how you approach and tackle those part of a vehicle. Thanks again for this.

    I've watched many a utube video. but none have approached the cleaning of leather/vinyl as you have. The cleaning and wiping off of APC is the definite way to go. SO glad I landed on your channel. Helped me with knowing the right way for both my vehicles: one with fabric and the other with leather/vinyl? seats. Thank you, once again.

    Do you have a tip or method on have to remove bad smells from leather interior on cars? I bought a lexus from a man who did extensive smoking in the car and other various drugs. I cleaned the interior with APC and let some baking soda sit in the car for a couple days but even after i finished once i got back in the car the next day the stench was back. It's really noticeable when its out, like 40 degrees or more. The leather is pretty damaged so i assume the inside of the seats have picked up all the smell. Anything would help.

      We don’t have that here locally, but if you’re going to use a stronger alkaline based degreaser make sure you dilute it appropriately and do a test stop first, but it could very well be to aggressive for leather or vinyl.

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing

      You have to be careful with most headliners as they tend to be very delicate and the glue can fail if you get the area too wet or use too much cleaner. You can certainly use Inside to clean a headliner, but spray it on a soft brush or microfibre cloth and not directly on the headliners and just brush or wipe it down gently.

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing
      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  3 роки тому

      This video was about cleaning and protecting leather/vinyl seats, no paint sprayer was used and you don’t need to remove the seats in order to clean them, though you can - they have four bolts in each corner of the base railing, be sure to torque them back down to OEM spec, but I’d advise no to do this for safely reasons unless you’re experienced in this area.

      It doesn’t really matter which material you clean first, but it’s really a similar method, I’d just try and limit the amount of liquid on the suede as it doesn’t tend to respond well to getting overly saturated but apart from that a brush and a little cleaner on it should work well follow by a good wipe down with a cloth.

    Hi Sandro, do you know how to remove pen stains on the leather seat?

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing
      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  2 роки тому

      Unfortunately pens stains themselves can vary a lot depending on how long they’ve been there, the specific ink and the leather itself, so some are easier and others are much more difficult to treat.
      Placing a hot water soaked towel over the stain for a good hour can help as a pre-treatment to soften the ink and then you can start with something like a citrus interior cleaner and brush or non-scratch scrubbing pad and then also try some isopropyl alcohol dilutions and even at times something like a magic sponge can work. The hard this is that leather itself can vary immensely in its sensitivity so do tests on an inconspicuous area ti see if these methods cause damage is also vital as that’s the main thing - to remove the stain without damaging the leather. Also understand that sometimes this is just not possible in my experience depending on the specifics.

    Good job! But I saw a video of a guy cleaning leather seats with magic erasers, and the results were amazing. And it took very little time to clean the grime away.

      @@CarCraftAutoDetailing You may have a point. But I don't want a shiny finish to my seats. I am looking for a matt finish, but with an even colour. Any suggestions?
      I'm in the UK, and the products you use may not be available here. I'll steal my wifes foundation brush, that will give me a head start, lol. But will make sure its clean first.

    Is Aerospace Protectant essential just a water based dressing because it looks like it and has the same consistency, maybe the only difference is that it is not slippery? Hence why we don't put things like carpro pearl on our seats.

      @@CarCraftAutoDetailing So 303 is basically the same thing to an extent, but properly diluted to use on leather and interiors?

    Have you had the chance to try super clean. You could easily dilute it down to 10:1 and get great results.
