The brother most likely refers to the current situation in Syria. There are a lot of little sects there who claim to be Ahlul Sunnah and follow one Amir and they claim they commit Jihad. This is a very dangerous territory, I advice every Muslim to be careful about this.

Short answer: No.
Why not? Because the cartoon "Train Your Dragon" involves the virtual animation of beings. Only Allah is Al-Khaliq (The Creator), the only One who possesses the knowledge and prowess to give the gift of life, Al-Muhyi. In Sahih al-Bukhari 5951, Prophet Muhummad ﷺ said, "Those who make these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them. 'Make alive what you have created.'"
In Sahih Muslim 2109c, Prophet Muhummad ﷺ stated, "All the artists who make pictures of the living would be in the f|re. Thereupon a s0u| will be breathed into every character generated by the artist who shall now be pun ished by this character (now blessed with life by the decree of Allah).
Even though you stated you did not digitally draw the dragon and other characters, you are somewhat involved in the production of this animation film, hence some level of responsibility lies with you (cf. those who are indirectly involved in the sale/transportation/delivery/etc of alcohol, as well as those who have indirect involvement in the accounting and facilitation of interest-based transactions).
Allah is Al-Arlim (The All Knowing) and Al-Hukeem (The All Wise), thus Allah knows best.

The drawing of 2D static images of both living characters and fictional creatures are equally as haraam as 3D ones.
It is therefore best to entirely leave the 3DFX industry. For those that possess the skill, creativity, and passion for drawing, I advocate one strives to train / become educated in either design engineering or architecture.
Today however, everyone is potentially at risk at incurring the wrath of Allah through the request via prompts of AI-generated characters on various cloud-based platforms. Do NOT fall into the trap of believing that such image generation of characters is harmless fun - it is absolutely not. Do not follow the heedless into the f|re.
