It is recommended to fast nine days of Dhul-Hijjah Fasting nine days of Dhul-Hijjah is mustahabb (recommended). This is indicated by the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), as narrated in the hadeeth of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days - i.e., ten days of Dhul-Hijjah).” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, not even jihad for the sake of Allah?” He said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a man goes out himself with his wealth and does not come back with anything (i.e., he expends all his wealth and is martyred).” (Narrated by al-Bukhari, 969)

So Allah SubhanaAllah Talah obligated fasting therefore we become Muttaqun, then before hajj we become Muttaqun and perform Hajj. Whoever intends to perform Hajj, no intimate with spouse, nor commit sin, nor dispute unjustly, whatever you do good Allah knows, and take provision for you and the best provision is Taqwa(mind ful of Allah).#2#197 When they both (Adam's two son) offered a sacrifice, it was accepted one of them and not accepted from other, I will surely kill you said the latter said, he said Allah only accepts only from who are Muttaqun(mindful of Allah. #5#27 What is Taqwa or Muttaqun Definition of Muttaqun explains in #2#2-5 and #2#177: believes in all books, establishes prayer, gives charity...
