I love his translation...Actually it is not for everyone,,cause it explains everything with very short but deep lines...If anyone understands psychology,sociology, human behaviour and philosophy,,the book will make sense to him/her....Also Quran can't be translated perfectly because of our shortcomings

Riba might linguistically mean "increase" but its technical meaning is "economic exploitation" - the video's author is completely wrong and beholden to the traditionalist school of thought which promotes a mythological not scholarly understanding of the term. The peer reviewed literature bears out my contentions; specifically the contributions by Prof. M. O. Farooq.
Therefore Yusuf Ali's translation of Riba as "usury" is much more correct than the video author's(!).

This information should be spread among people, especially new Muslims. We are not like the Jews and Christians. We do not accept tampering with the Qur’an because this will later lead to distorting the texts just as the Jews and Christians did.

The Qur'an uses the word "shaytan" as a general term for adversaries to Allah... people who reject faith, and want others to reject, and inspire and whisper evil ideas into others.
But THE shaytan, that is a person, at least that is what the other contexts seem to suggest.
Regarding paradise and hellfire, i think they are places also, but it's noteworthy, in some ayat the thing is described as "the parabole/similitude of paradise" and then the usual description of paradise, that may imply the examples are down to earth, so we understand the equivalent there, in the actual place, is good, or in the case of hellfire, bad.
But the resurrection is a fact and yeah no doubt about that, we will be recreated, Judged, and go to a better or worse place...

In surah isra verse 17 which is taking about that israelites will spread corruption in the land twice, i have seen that when the second time is mentioned in most of the translations it is written as past tense but in clear quran it is written in past future tense. Has the second corruption already happened or will happen in the future? And why is clear Quran translation differing than most of the renowned translations?

1:54 Well, to be straightforward, any “Muslim” who believes that hell and paradise are not actual places which really exist (as I speak) is a disbeliever, not a Muslim anymore or to begin with. What I am trying to say is that we have to be careful where do we get our knowledge from. Otherwise we could end up as disbelievers without even knowing it.

Remember the hadith which say something like (again not at all same,just for an idea) when you are at that position, you do your duty, if it turns out wrong you gain a reward, if you're right you'll gain double. Most important is worshipping Allah alone and believe in his final prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as servant and messenger of Allah.
How did Yusuf Ali's translation get so popular? The answer is Zakir Naik. He mentioned his translations in his lectures.
Many points are ambiguous brother which you are trying to give definite translation of it in incorrect sense. May Allah forgive us, guide us and reward him for His efforts and reward you for yours, Ameen.

I dont think it was ever even permissable to read this in the first place due to the numerous times it went against clear ayahs and tried to deform thier meanings in order to carry on pushing these obviously misimterperated and misguided ideas. We interperete the Qur’an with the Qur’an and Sunnah! Never our intellect!!
all criticisms are valid. *EXCEPT* the first one. saying something is a symbol of a concept does not mean the thing does not exist. saying "the Supreme Court is the symbol of Justice" does not mean that there is no such thing as the Supreme Court. however this is a minor nitpick. from all the other criticisms, which are all valid, it is clear why this translation is not that reliable.

ASA, I agree that Yusef Ali's translation may have some words which have poor word choices. But you are using your interpretation of the Qur'an to refute his. You aren't using the Arabic words in the Qur'an to refute it. Very little of what you said did that. Allah says in the Qur'an that these things are signs. What is a sign, it's a symbol for something else. Please read the ayah 3:7 in the Qur'an, where Allah says "in it are verses muh'kamatun and mutashabbihatun, which means "clear and allegorical." It's one thing to give an arabic lesson, but this video isn't about arabic per see. It's an attempt by you to give your own tasfir (explanation) of an ayah. I do like some of your arabic lessons but your video here is about your understanding of it not the actual arabic. Your example about riba is not legitimate as there are arabic dictionary that list Riba as usuary. If you want to give a tasfir, do that. But don't try to deceive students that these words support your understanding more than his
While the idea of being in the Hellfire for some time for some sinner Muslims is in the haddithes, it seems that it goes against the main message of the Quran and is originated not from our prophet pbuh, but from some older Jewish stories instead. So, in my opinion, this concept should be rejected by Muslims who can reflect.
Just because it doesn't agree with YOUR Aqeedah, Fiqh, or specific interpretation does not make it innacurate or wrong. You are a literalist, and you have a very rigid and overly simplistic understanding of Islam. I feel sorry for people with such a shallow view of our beautiful religion. In every single critique of Abdullah Yusuf Ali it is you who had a misunderstanding of what he was saying or your projecting what you know to be right instead of approaching things with an open mind. Ive always felt that the thing that makes religion so beautiful is that it is for everyone at every level of understanding. It is fine for laymen in remote places or with little education to hold such rudimentary views, but the degredation of our tradition is largely due to the fact that in todays time it is the scholars and teachers (like yourself) who have these ridiculously overlysimplistic and literalist views. May Allah protect this ummah from the rigid fundementalists that have hijacked our deen and turned it into their ideological weapon of choice.

There is only 1 Aqeedah (Creed, the stuff concerning your beliefs), because the Aqeedah of the Messenger's (عَلَيْهِ ٱلصَّلَاةُ وَٱلسَّلَامُ) Aqeedah is the only true Aqeedah.

Let me ask you straightforward: Do paradise and hell exist as places of reward and punishment in which the believers will be rewarded and the disbelievers will be punished? Does the hellfire burn the bodies of the disbelievers and do the believers eat and drink and acquire other means of pleasure we know of in our life?
