Sailing the Fjords of Montenegro - Tranquilo Sailing Around the World Ep.12

- Опубліковано 1 лис 2017
- Continuing our sailing around the world adventures, we sail through Montenegro's magnificent fjords, right up to the town of Kotor.
Kotor turns out to be one of our favourite towns so far in the trip, beautiful old buildings, great setting amongst the towering mountains, and a great vibe! The walk up to the fortress provides great views of the town from above, as well as the surrounding fjords.
And thanks to everyone who's provided us with tips on holding a SUP paddle, yes it turns out we've been holding it the wrong way around...! You're going to see this for a while until we catch up on videos.

Very good! I'm much happy for the family in the Sailor Boat Tranquilo. A hug in all... And in the Kaleena...
Fil! Did the women get sick? I really enjoyed seeing Aiden dressed in a shirt written Brazil ... Montenegro is a wonderful place, I will visit. Thank you very much!
Barbie rocks👍 great vid
Beautiful scenery.
Great to see a fellow Kiwi :)
wow
Lovely looking country. You are giving me so many ideas for places to visit when I set off for the Med - a lot of which I hadn't even previously considered. And I really like the way you don't drench the videos with background music. I, for one, would much rather hear the actual ambient background sounds. Thanks for sharing.
Men, Men... I already have you like my brother. I wish one day meeting your family here with my family. God Bless you! Marcello, Brazilian your brother.
Obrigado Marcello, maybe if you're ever in Australia when we finally get back look us up!
Thanks again for another great Video :)
Cheers Smeggy!
Wow! Wonderful footage! I definitely want to sail the Mediterranean someday! Keep up the great videos!
Thanks!
cool video nice place
Stunning scenery, very rugged... and I'm not just talking about Fil's chest!! ;)
Looks Like Tranquillo wll do 10 knots on a reach. Not bad for a big mono. Great adventures. Beautiful area.
We've got her up to 11 knots on a reach in 30 knots...
Stunning place
It is!
For Adriatic’s sake turn you paddles around🏄🏿 great vid
Would love to see a video where you demonstrate how you do a Mediterranean style docking. We see that rarely in my part of the world and I think it would be interesting to your sailing followers. Cheers!
Hi John, we've taken a closer look at Med mooring, have a look at Episode 6, ua-cam.com/video/-VvltFQLM94/v-deo.html
Nice grill on the back! What brand of yacht is that? It looks modern, clean lines, spacious, and perfect to sail, I love it!
Hi Kevin, Tranquilo is a Hanse 455. Yes we love the BBQ at the back!
Hi, good quality of pictures. What camera do you used for your video?
Thank you for the organized, informative videos. We just came across you and your adventure. Our plan/dream to sail is nearby so we appreciate watching and learning from you. PLEASE tell us about the BBQ on the stern of the boat! Is it built in? Is it propane? Are you pleased with this piece of equipment?
Hi Joni, yes we love it! It's a factory option with the Hanse 455. The model is by ENO in france, called the Plancha Encastrable. It runs off the same butane system the stove is connected to. If you want more details please let us know. (And apologies for the slow reply, we've been sailing across the Atlantic and now telecommunications is a bit tough in the Caribbean, especially post-Irma).
Very nice videos. You guys are off to a great start. I hope you will keep it up! :) Especially the sailing part.
The only thing i would suggest is that you use a mic that are less sensitive to wind.
Hi Soren, thanks for the feedback! Regarding mic, it's about the best of breed we could afford, a Rode with the cat - unless you can suggest an alternative?
Beautiful video. Superb cinematography. The colors just pop in my phone. What res.are you filming in? I also love you use natural ambient noises, not relying too much on a soundtrack. Keep up the great work! 2 thumbs up! 👍 👍
Thanks Eduardo, means a lot to us! We're filming at 1080p
Great video again, just love the work, you seem to stay in a few docks any chance on letting us all know what sort of money they charge per night? & maybe how hard or easy it is with customs.
Cheers
Swany
QLD OZ
Hi Swany, we prefer to stay on anchor, but that's not always possible! In Montenegro, simple marinas with few facilities like Kotor were EUR 40 per night, up to EUR 75 for Budva. Croatia generally was more expensive, EUR 75 to 95 per night. Southern Italy was ludicrous, EUR 130+ per night, but we managed to anchor quite a bit, even though some of the anchorages were exposed.
Customs has been a breeze so far, and once we arrived in Schengen (in Greece) and cleared in, they weren't interested in clearing us in or out...
Thanks guys, I look forward to next week.
Cheers
Goodonyah guys
Cheers Ben!
No chilled white? 🤔
What type of boat ?
Tranquilo is a Hanse 455. and thanks for following!
vocês são brasileiros? ou alguém é?
are you brazilians?
A beautiful place but high up on my list of cruising tips would be try not to go anywhere that has cruise ships.
Old mate from NZ offers some great advice, you can go to all the beautiful and exotic places but its the people you remember.
Totally agree about the cruise ships, some of the best places have been where the cruise ships couldn't get to! And yes Bill was spot on.
:)
Thanks Jon!
Everyone in comment think this is Mediterranian, it's Adriatic sea
