Cracking sail and informative as well - it’s great the way you film things like conversations with approaching ships to establish they know you’re there and that they’re going to take steps to miss you - I learn from every episode. Thanks 🙏
Thanks for the informative and inspirational vlog. We are a sailing couple getting ready to head south from the UK at the end of August and your videos really hit the spot. Great to see how you operate on passage all very professional and considered a good template for others to emulate. Looking forward to the next instalment👍
Another great video, and unique too (amongst the plethora of sail travelogues on YT) in terms of the passage making rationale and the very real sailing and vessel management content. 👏
Nice video, mates. Good to see you under sail and saving your pension, Iain. It’s getting tight these days. Cliffhanger ending. Developments keenly anticipated. Bon chance, mes amis.
Excellent VLOG! We enjoy the video and your views. As a side note may be worth having some of Kate' meal preps as part of your necessities video' at some point. We do similar for passages that are 2-4 days, all the prep makes the meal times quick and enjoyable. Keep up the great work!
Really enjoyed the video! It seems clear that British sailors need to make longer and more risky passages following Brexit. I’m hoping we can get visas to stay longer than 90 days but that, as you have found, seems difficult! Perhaps the French tourist visa is our best bet?
Hi Dale….it certainly is a challenge trying to manage the schengen shuffle and it does push you into passages you may not have made otherwise which is not great. Haven’t forgotten your email and will reply in more detail soon 👍🏻😎
@@DaleNewnham we did consider it but it wasn’t open when we needed it (covid), coupled with the fact that we needed/wanted to get across to Greece it didn’t work for us but friends went there and it seems to be a useful schengen escape in the western Med 👍🏻
Glad you found it useful. I see you’ve found the answer to your question on our Bear Essentials episode. The only thing I’d add is a note of caution that some country’s don’t seem to fully respect the right of innocent passage. There are stories of some of the Balkan countries fining people for anchoring in their waters and even for transitting them too close to shore. We had no problems where we anchored in Spain and Italy but we weren’t challenged by immigration officials. It is a little bit of a grey area around the anchoring.
Sorry Rachel! There was just too much for 1 video! 😬 Can’t even be sure yet if there will be one or two more parts as I haven’t started making part 2 yet! Glad you enjoyed it so far though…thanks for watching and commenting 😊😎⛵️
Hi, that is gone now but it was a cheap dashcam to capture unexpected moments for our videos. For eg if a whale breached in front of us or a big wave came over the bow the dashcam would catch it. It was a good idea but the dashcam was cheap and low quality and stopped working. One day we may purchase a better one, or perhaps use a 360 camera on loop record…but that will have to wait until we have some more money for cameras 😊 Hope that helps? Cheers

Thank you Richard. I try to get little helpful bits in where I can. I’m glad they are appreciated. Thanks for your support and comment 😊😊

Cheers guys!
Blue light stop check of a shifty vehicle on nights 😂. Well done guys…sorting those sails looks like a great workout!
Not too far from the truth Rob! And yes sailing is a workout but it’s all the beer drinking in between you gotta watch!! 😂🍺🍺

Thank you Deb….That’s a good idea for the essentials video on passage food prep 😊⛵️
Your top, port, lifeline has a 11mm locking nut loose securing the pelican clip (14:55 seconds in). Nice video.
Eagle eyes! Thank you I have now rectified that 😊
