    Well done on the draw die, most blacksmiths don’t understand the way sheet stock is formed and conforms to the punch without the need for a bottom die of the same shape. This method uses less tonnage and leaves the metal free from damage provided the binder is polished, you might consider buttons that hold the binder at the material thickness plus a thou. This way you don’t have to worry about tensioning the the bolts exactly the same each time. This is how it’s done in stamping tools. Great video, great project, glad to see your at the anvil!

      @@larrybrown6068 I’m afraid I’m like your husband, I don’t miss it in the slightest! The pressure has been lifted, I don’t miss the people at all. The only thing I sometimes miss is the smell! • @garyhuston
      @garyhuston  Рік тому +1

      if you mean the one for forming the bobeche type of top, there isn't really much to it. It's just a mild steel bar with a radius turned into it ending at the diameter of the tube you are using. I have several for different sized tube. Not worth doing a video but if you look on my instagram feed I think you may get a better view as i did a reel on it a while ago.

      It’s ok, they have some stupid ideas but at the moment it’s still worth doing for an extra bit of cash. They are introducing some more stupid regulations next year where everything has to be CA marked and materials must be traceable, safety information on everything! I will ignore it all until they stop me.
