@@What_happens_in_Vegas88 I used one while servicing a semi and forgot about it because the battery went dead when I walked away for a minute. I then forgot about it after the service was done and sent the truck out, but the next time it came in, it was still there.

I have a 1986 ford ranger I’m having a problem with. Rough idk then runs smooth then almost stalls out and repeats. Go to drive it and jerks really bad.
Have done anything with the timing

check your computer capacitors
@@keatyofficial I changed the computer. Pretty sure I have a bad ground somewhere. I unplugged the distributor engine runs great!
Whats up buddy i just got a 89 with the 2.9 it seems painfully slow are they just slow or where should i start trying to trace the problem
They are not fast by any means but they are reliable. The sluggishness could be caused by a number of different problems too. Start with the simple fixes first and work your way up from there. I've put hours into my 2.9 to get it where it is. It has 212k on it now and i wouldn't trade it for the world. Truthfully at the end of the day it comes down to balancing expectations with reality. Overall tho they can be good motors.
