¡Hola!
Did canva take this away with their new "glowup"???? I am following the steps exactly, and same steps here as in other videos, and there is no longer an option fpr "Delete Image" and "Delete frame" when you select the image in Canva after uploading as a project :( I've used both photopea and photoshop... neither works.
Does anyone know how this is done PLEASE. I have something I am trying to both understand and create. The bottom layer is a white background. On top of it is a square Canva frame, that doesn’t cover the complete work area. On top of that is an image of a white coffee mug sitting on a kitchen counter. What I’d like to do is to be able to move that top image around and be able to see that frame cover only the cup as it’s moved around. I have seen it done and spent the last few hours with my sister trying to figure it out. We tried everything and just couldn’t make it work. How is it possible to see that frame show through to the top layer as it’s moved, but the frame doesn’t show the whole picture, just the mug? I know I am repeating myself; I’m trying to make it make sense. I searched Google, looked at numerous videos and no answer.
Hi There! If you are still struggling can you please email me so I can try to assist one on one? I am having trouble following what you are saying. You can email me at hello@sellingdigital.vip
Thank you. I am just learning Canva. Love your video on how to create your own frames. I was able to create but each time I do a word invariably one of the letters I can't seem to remove the background from the center of the letter. For an example an o. So it ends up being a solid shape-looks like an oval. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I go to delete that background center of the o and it turns the entire letter black. I'm not proficient in photopea. Any suggestions?
Hello! My guess is that the middle of the "O" is not merged in photopea prior to saving as a PSD. Check to make sure that all pieces are merged into one layer in the layers panel. Hope this helps!
Omg I did it!! I have been searching how to do this for awhile then BAM clicked on your video and got one made.. Now just gotta do a few more.. I do need help with doing cut files though.. Am I able to email you?
Hi there - I am following along and have gotten to the point where you pulled in a digital image. What file type must this be to work? I am trying to use a JPEG but the Clipping Mask part won't work. Where do you get digital backgrounds from as well?
PNG, JPG etc. should work just fine. You can find digital papers in a lot of different areas, I design most of mine but you can also go to places like creative fabrica and click on their free section and search for digital paper. Make sure that you are selecting open/place and that the image if above your SVG file prior to doing your clipping mask. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much. I watched other videos; they used Figma. It's easy to follow but did not work for me, especially the merged part. Figma also has a subscription fee, and it's only free for 30 days. I did all the steps on my mobile phone, but when I upload it to Canva, it's not framed. You delete the photo and then it becomes framed. It's probably because mobile phones don't support PSD files, right?
is this only for graphics created in canva? it seems that something created by ai would not work. Is there any specifics about which graphic types can be used for that?
Hello! I am sorry you are having trouble. If you Right Click on the image do you see an option that says "Detach Image"? If not, then something went wrong in Photopea. I would just start fresh. I have a new video on Frames coming out tomorrow morning if you need addition help.
I couldn't get this to work for me. When I put the image in canva it doesn't let me delete the background. However, I will say I watched a figma tutorial about exporting to .pdf that does work but it is more steps.

What if the image has a raster mask?
You will need to have a Clipping Mask for this to work. Since it's is a vector shape that defines a precise boundary.
