Great video! One more tip: add two tablespoons of white vinegar to a bowl of water. Dip all your berries and fruits in this then let them dry on a clean towel before putting into the fridge. It kills the bacteria that causes them to rot. They should last longer. You won’t taste the vinegar once they are dry.
Thanks a million! Will give it a try!!
I soak all my fruits/veggies in a big bowl of vinegar+water. The berries last longer plus it removes pesticides and cleans the produce. Love your videos.
Great tip, we will give it a try!
What kind of ratio? I would imagine if you go too strong, you just end up with all your fruits and veggies with a vinegar flavor...giggle. Do you use just white vinegar?
@@TheStoneWhisperer I don’t really measure. Maybe 1/4-1/2 Cup for a big big bowl of water. Then I rinse the fruit/veg. There isn’t any vinegar flavor/smell remaining. I alternate with baking soda now. Sometimes vinegar, sometimes baking soda(removes pesticides)
While there is no actual proof that it removes pesticides, It may only removes the pesticides in the skin, what about the pesticides inside of the fruit? they are sprayed throughout all stages of growth.
I can feel the health trough my screen when you open your fridge😱
Yay!!😄🙌
yes!
U can say that again
Thank you so much for this video! It was very straight forward and so helpful. My husband and I are switching to a much healthier and eco-friendly lifestyle, very excited!
I ferment some foods or dehydrate them if I see them not looking so good. Then when I want to slow cook a roast, I put them into a crockpot with my fermented vegetables, herbs and it is delicious.
My lettuce I also keep in a plastic box in my fridge with paper towels in between layers. It can last over a week. I use a big box and keep kale and all leafy greens.

Vera Parker thanks a million! We’re so happy to hear that! More goods to come soon!!!
Thanks for this video! 😊 There are also ways to refresh wilted, shriveled veg - e.g. Put wilted leaves in a bowl of water, some ice cubes and couple hours in the fridge and they'll expand and be nice and crunchy again. The same for soft wrinkly root vegetables carrots, radishes etc. (no ice cubes needed). Carrots are also best stored in a jar with some water like the asparagus in the video. Also make sure to see if at least part of a fruit or vegetable can be saved.
The issue is that these veggies over time loose liquid so the point is to add that liquid back to them
So complete! Thank you!
Awesome video. It’s amazing how such nutritious foods are so beautiful. It makes me excited for the garden this year.

Anothertip is you canstore leafy veggies with a papertowel between theleaves to absorb moisture after washing and they will last forever. Also blue apple is really helpful in absorbing co2!
Berries do great if there rinced dried and diced in quarters then put back in container with several layers of paper towls! Then referigerate easy to grab and use!
Timothy Gorsuch thanks for the tip!!

Very helpful, thanks!
you guys look super healthy. You guys eat healthy. That is my dream one day.....to have a kitchen like yours, be super fit, happy, and healthy.
Hi Erin 🤗 you guys are great. I actually soak my berries (all but rasberries) in a 1cup vingear:3 cup water solution to kill off any bacterious spores off the berries, which is usually why they go bad so fast 🥺... I still try to eat them first tho, because even after cleaning them with the vinegar solution, they still tend to go bad before my greens 🤦🏼♀️. Hope you like this trick 😁
So helpful! Thanks guys!!
You have taught us so much, thank you 🙏💚
You are so welcome!
nuts go rancid. I keep all nuts and seeds, basically anything that contains oil, in the fridge. Also, somewhere I got the tip of putting a paper towel in the container of spinach to absorb the moisture. I take some out and shake the closed container for air to circulate before placing the paper towel on top and then close. Keeps so much longer.
Elizabeth B thanks for these helpful tips!!
Yes. You are right. I put paper towels on my greens too. Works really well.
I freeze my nuts and seeds. They last so much longer! You can use them right out of the freezer for cooking, and I regularly defrost a small portion about once a week, that I put in my morning porridge or eat as a snack.
Ffeff, great tip about nuts.
Just came accross your channel! I’m in love! You’ve got a subscriber! Finally a channel I can relate to.

Thanks for sharing!
VERY Motivating, you live soo healthy, thank you for Sharering your your VERY good ideas
So glad to hear that! Thanks for watching!
Amazing video as always! 👏🏼I have read places that berries shouldn’t be washed until ready to be eaten, I find they don’t rot as quick this way! Also I love my green onions and want to share that chopping them up and storing in container lasts very long or if you don’t want to chop them, put a moist paper towel around the green onions every couple days to keep fresh :)
I've read the same thing about berries and onions.
Great tips!! Thank you 😊
Thank you for the vid. Its very helpful during lockdown. I seriously dont know how to keep this things fresh.

Daria Alexandra Dobrosz awe thanks a bunch! We really appreciate that!!🙏☺️
If you wrap salads in some wet kitchen paper, they last longer. Kale can be washed and frozen in a bag without the stems. It crumbles easily when you take it out to use on salads or in smoothies.
Cool thanks for the tips!
@@EatMoveRest You are welcome. I love your colourful clips!
I just love you guys and this channel ☺️
Shaneice Crawford awe thanks a bunch for your kind words and your support!!
Hi Guys, Great, Informative and fun video, I learned so much....Thanks! I do want to offer some advice on leafy greens for those of us who don't eat them enough unless they are ready to grab and eat right out of the fridge.....I know it's best to wash only right before eating them, but, for example, if I want to make a salad, the thought of having to wash AND DRY my greens first sometimes stops me....so, I find if I wash my greens as soon as I get them home, lay them on clean tea towels to dry for a couple hours, then put them in airtight containers in the fridge, they will last 7-10 days! Knowing I can just grab ready to eat greens is helpful for me.
Ron Stallworth thanks for the great advice! So glad you enjoyed this vid!
Great video thanks for sharing this with us
Ronna Lambeth you are so welcome!
Unwashed berries in a mason jar in the fridge lengthens the life and keeps things like grapes more “crisp”. Lettuce 🥬 washed chopped and put in a reusable ziplock with a paper towel and then not sealed all the way keeps it and makes it easy to grab for salads too. The cilantro trick works for most of the other fresh herbs too. I keep my onions in the veggie drawer, makes you not cry while chopping. Nuts in mason jars and in the fridge too!
These are great tips, thank you!
You are so welcome!
Thanks guys, loved it
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very helpful video..love watching u guyz..👍
Sonam's Food Recipes thanks you! So glad you enjoyed this one!

Ashley Cowan ☺️🙌💚💚💚
So helpful ! Thanks 🤗🤗
Glad it was helpful!
What you call that stretchable cover to store the mushroom?
Luv you guys ❤️❤️❤️
Berries tend to do best if you put them in the fridge in hard after washing
What’s the best way to store potatoes, onion, sweet potatoes? It’s very humid where I live and can’t keep them from sprouting or going bad.
We store ours in a dark cupboard!
Great video, I'll definitely be replacing cling film with those reusable ones and stealing the hanging basket idea to store some of my fruit. More likely to eat them if you can see them! Subscribed :)
I saw some 'veggie life extenders' on amazon, that may be worth a try, however, I've not tried them yet. They look like little porous pads that line your fridge drawers to help humidity control.
Thanks for sharing and thanks for subscribing Arran! If your feeling supportive you can find all of our recipes in our e-book on sale this weekend here www.eatmoverest.com/shop/recipe-ebook
The link to the lids dosen't work 🙄
If you wrap moist vegetables or veg with high water content, in tin foil, silver foil it will last and keep fresh two times longer, the foil keeps moisture in the veg stops it from escaping, try it
Are u referring to cilantro corriander spinach types veggies ...they go do bad in my tropical climate
@@amitas7047 no using foil as a wrap is for celery, lettuce, aubergine, and any solid types of vegetables, to prevent growth of fungus and extend the life of the food sell by date, I have not recommended it for herbs which can be frozen in ice cubes, and used later when needed I have not found a solution to keep spinach longer, but you could try keeping it in foil and see if it works, i have not tried that, yet, the reason it goes off quickly is because of it's high water moisture content, keeping it in a bag also increases the bacteria which encourages moisture to grow fungus on it. Give the foil a try and let me know if it worked for you. Thank you.
@@lauraaqui219 sure will try n revert...avoiding getting any spinach these few months as we are in monsoon season n somehow I dread picking wet spinach 😄
Thank you very much your videos are awesome I am eating more fruits and vegetables in my diet Your family is adorable Saludos de Peru
