Those Dr. Scholl’s are super cute but I found them not breathable at all. Agree that sneakers are everywhere and everyone will know that you are a tourist. 😊
I bring two really good pairs of walking shoes, Hokia's and On Cloud waterproof. I then bring a couple pairs of extra insoles like Super feet to switch out. My husband and I walk 23+ miles a day on our last 23 day trip.
Sometimes, more "athletic" shoes are needed because of the support. I'm really interested in Dr. Scholls, but I also have really flat feet and am prone to Plantar Fasciitis. I'm also concerned about weight. Being a hiker, I know that the heavier the shoe, the more miserable I tend to be. Hahaha! So I'll be taking that into consideration, too.
Note: everyone says don’t wear white sneakers to Europe, you’ll stand out as a tourist. Untrue, everyone is wearing white sneakers, converse, and whatever just like in the US. If you find your choice of shoes isn’t cutting it while you are on vacation people in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia, Africa, or wherever else have feet and buy shoes, get a new pair that’s better than what you brought. Don’t overpack shoes, too. Wear the heaviest shoes, for me it’s my hiking boots, on the plane and pack one pair of sandals and either sneakers or some sort of walkable dressier shoes. And buy quality shoes, not cheap ones.
Totally true about the white sneakers! Everyone wears them because they look good with all types of clothes. And yes, they need to be a good quality and comfortable.

What are your favorite walking shoes?

Wow! That is some serious walking!
@sueblaisdell2430 that’s exactly the shoes I took. The Hoka’s in black & some white OC . Also took a Naturalizer sandal.

Everyone's needs are a little different in terms of support right? The Dr. Scholls worked really well for me and my feet are terrible in most shoes.

Throw some pink laces on those and you’re all set. Pay no attention to the lady with the pink walker. 😂
