Good Day Russ, Boy I sure wish Arizona could get some rain storms, bring some back with you. Big fires all around Arizona and the heat, the heat is on. Depending where you are heading in AZ you might want to consider doing some night driving to beat the heat of the day. Be sure to thank your family for sharing you with all of us! See You Soon!
I can't wait to see US 60 across New Mexico, thanks Russ. I hope to take it into Arizona to the Mogollon Rim as soon as I can, maybe this winter. I'm stoked to see that, sounds awesome. Glad you had a great family visit!
If you stay on 60 all the way to AZ you will be traveling the same way when we were either coming from or going to Globe, Az when visiting relatives in eastern Oklahoma.
Good Morning ☀️ I’m glad that you had a great time w/your family! I have to quarantine if I go to NJ now so staying in Colorado until.....I Love I40 for driving. ✌🏾💙 I also like the state sign selfies 📷 😁 A rest stop shelter is also new to me 😱 although I’ve been to Texas before...7 years ago. Wow, that’s a sweet drive Awesomeness, that’s a first 😂😂😂 yuckdonalds...🎻 Hello Tex!!! ☀️
As a future idea, consider a visit to Marfa, Texas between El Paso and Big Bend National Park. Marfa is an artistic and cultural oasis in the desert. The downtown shops will keep you busy.
Next time you passing through Canyon, Texas, there is a great museum there. Writers use it to research frontier weapons & lore of the west. Very much worth a stop. Takes awhile to tour it. Thanks for posting.
Glad you could make it out to see my little brother Tex Randal. Wave if your if your driving past Fort Worth, we will be here all day. Have a safe trip. Al & Kathleen
Another Great Video Russ....You Always Take Your Viewers To See Things We Can Never Visit "TEX RANDALL" ....Also We Listen To Every Word You Say Russ....."YUKDONALDS".....
Great Video, Russ !!! Around Socorro west about 30 miles of town off US60.... The Very Large Array( National Radio Obervatory) was very fascinating for me. The movie CONTACT was filmed there...
What we wouldn’t give to have one of those rain storms come through Tucson right now. The Catalinas are on fire and the air quality is horrible. Leaving on Saturday, I will keep my eyes peeled for the Beast. Safe travels.
As a born and raised Okie I can attest to the storms. Especially in the western part of the state, when they get going, there's nothing to stop them but a couple old cows and a rusty barbed wire fence.
You should take a look at Tex on Google maps... a 2013 street view image and a sign asking for public support ("Cowboy Up") to restore the statue. Tex had 'sho 'nuf seen better days back in 2013. Looks like the campaign was successful though!
How about trips to Pioche NV, Caliente, Tonopah and Goldfield the old mining towns. The Wind River Reservation hwy 26 to Jackson and Yellowstone. Love your videos you have good cameras. Stay safe. Look forward to your trips to the Rockies and foothills lest we not forget the desert
I grew up in Amarillo and I know that the Tex has been there in Canyon since the early 60’s. So I am sure since late 50’s too. It is very recently that they fixed up Tex and made a park there. For a very long time he was there alone by a rundown empty cafe and later an empty lot. Even in August of 2019 when I last was there he was there alone and very worse for wear. Fingers broken, cement flaking all over. I was afraid he would soon be taken down. So I am glad they finally fixed him as he deserves. As for being very windy. Well, welcome the Texas panhandle. One last thing and you may know now but this is for others. The town is pronounced Her-ford.
Hey Russ, loving the videos. Is your family in Newcastle ,Ok. When your heading out in the video, your at I-44 and hwy 37 out of Tuttle and Tri city Ok. I just live about 15 miles from there. Would have liked to meet up and say hi. Maybe this winter. Planning on coming out to Quartzsite. Safe journeys.
Some of the road looks rough while other parts look smooth , I love the flat part of states . Wow , that cowboy is huge but then everything is bigger in Texas. Russ is there a story behind yuk Donalds , or you just plain dislike it I'm curious.😊
Next month my daughter and I will go to Moab, Utah. I will drive from San Antonio, Tx. I remember that last year when we went to Grand Canyon, when I came back I spend the night on Albuquerque, on my way to San Antonio my GPS took me for a road where I saw far away two giants cowboys one in front another each side of the road. I was afraid to stop to take a picture. It was a solitary road. Any chance you know that road? I would like to take the opportunity to make a video next month when I go back again.
Love when you say welcome back to TX. Makes us feel like we're home, even tho we're sheltering in place in CA because of TX Gov Abbott's terrible management of Covid-19 that's affecting the entire state right now. We actually feel safer in CA because they're so much stricter the at home in TX.
Turns out Texans never did drop like flies in the year since you posted that comment. Abbott's policy sits well with me, but I'm glad you're happy in CA.
I drove this section of US60 two years ago. I enjoyed my stay at the Water Canyon campground (high elevation) outside of Magdalena NM. Your sprinter can easily do short road to the Campground! www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/cibola/recarea/?recid=64076
@@Dive-Bar-Casanova I don't know but when I was just a kid I think 4 yrs old I remember getting a hamburger after seeing this scary thing I remember I was scared stiff of it. but the restaurant wasn't far away and also a western wear dept store I got a plastic cowboy hat. I wish I could remember more. this was over oh maybe 64 yrs ago and he had mustache
What no coffee mugs for sale! Cowboy sized . Maybe Texas A& M Home of the Aggies get calculus homework ... post the volume ... oh gosh . Mr Smith best ever mathematician. She tub of the border math baffles me still!
Too bad you drove through the trucker side of the billion dollar rest area. The view on the auto side is incredible. You're allowed to stay in that rest area and it's East bound cousin for 2 days . It's too bad that Texas put all their money into those rest areas ,because the rest of the 40 has none. Several parking / picnic areas with NO bathrooms. Consequently, the smell of urine is quite evident at the parking/picnic areas . When ya gotta go . Ya gotta go.
Be sure to check out the Space Museum Video too ua-cam.com/video/HjblgfKDwag/v-deo.html

If the restaurants are open, you have to stop in Pietiown NM.
I heard the pie restaurant in Pietown closed permanently. 😢
My wife makes better pie. Sorry I drove out of my way for that.
New to your channel just love the way you edit and show the scenery Keep it up.
Come over to Missouri. 60 goes in front of my house.
Nice road trip
Check out the VLA near Datil N Mex

Hi Russ , Are you going to go through WILLCOX, Az. ???? If so Can you do a little tour of the town ?? Thanks !
I always laugh when you say yuk donalds!😆
Google street view 2013 of The Big Texan shows an empty lot with a well-worn out
statue. Looks nice now
Hereford Texas has free rv. hook ups at the aquatic park, just a little way from walmart

Will we see any home movies from Oklahoma?
Why the heck are you going back to Arizona in the middle of summer??? It's like 135 degrees there now.
I have such poor vision, i was hoping that you would read more of the Tex Randall statue. Was he a real person or not?

Have you heard of the Sahara sand storm that is headed for Texas...the South...today? Possibly causing lung problems. Stay safe.
