Empanadas are always great. I strongly suggest you try the Brazilian dough (pastel). It is thinner and becomes crunchier after frying. Very similar to the Chinese version.

As a native spanish speaker, I find it funny how people are calling it empanadas now😂 it used to be hand pies or pasties. Don’t see a reason for the name to be changed to a spanish word. Looks incredible tho, cheers.
I used red bell pepper and onion. Par-froze my slab of meat to make easier to slice thin, seasoned everything with olive oil salt pepper and garlic. Cooked the meat and veg separately then chopped it fine and used pepper jack. I also used egg wash over the top and baked instead of fry.
Great job! I add some mushroom/seasoning for umami, or sofrito/recaito + sazon for PR flavor, or thyme, soy, homemade curry and habenero hot sauce for Jamaican flavor!
Puerto Rican "pastelillo" is what they call.. That's been a staple a finger food originated in Puerto Rico,,, But I guess every culture has their their copy version of it...🙌🙌🙌
I’ve never seen empanadas disks before. Not even at my local “Northgate market”. Which is primarily Latino market. I’m on the hunt for them now. Thank you for another delicious dish.
Yes, Walmart has them in the freezer isle with the Goya frozen products or they are usually in urban area Hispanic supermarkets in the frozen aisle. If your city has a Western Beef supermarket, they also sell them too!

These are sold here in Argentina on most empanada places as a "Cheeseburger empanada" more than a cheesesteak, with around the exact same ingredients and some little bits of bacon on them. My advice with empanadas, NEVER fry them in oil. Empanadas are traditionally fried in LARD. They taste so, so, SO much better, so meaty and delicious! And it's also healthier!
Looks good. I notice that you and several of the UA-cam cooks don’t recommend pre-shredded cheese. The other day I brought the brand Kraft and they no longer use hormones in their cheese. Just thought you might like to know.

That julienne you do on the bell pepper before dicing is super smart. I'll start cutting mine like that too
Great recipe. Simple and easy. Man that sauce is delicious. My first time cooking empanadas. This will be a go to of mine now

Another great recipe. Also, you should look into getting a manual cheese shredder. SO gratifying to use, and can do an entire block in minutes.

It’s not the hormones.. it’s the anti caking agents like potato starch they use to keep the cheese from clumping together
Use what you want, it’s not mandatory to not use shredded cheese! 🙄🤷🏾♀️
