Hi Jenny, the brass bit with the slot would fit on the rear of the buffer and the wire fits into these either end to give you 'Sprung buffers'. The wire at its mid point passes through the coupling as you did. However I can see the model may not have given you enough room for this. 🙂🙂
Hello Jenny A great little starter kit build, even if some parts are hard to source, I'm not sure I'd have the patience to do those buffers and couplings but without any drawings/diagrams to work does make it slightly more difficult (5 out of 10 Peco not upto your usually high standards !). Nicely finished though Jenny. Thanks
I like 3D, but buy hand is more with the end result but which ever you like we do find scratch building models on youtube, that are more like tips on how too but not the maths to convert from photos.
Very nice kit Jenny I think that wire on the buffers were the spring.😊😊

You should do more kit building videos.

Jenny can theses wagons be fitted with 0 gauge NEM pockets and could they be set for 0-16.5 running.
Should have added, page 176 of Peco's product & modelling guide give a better illustration. R.egards, Dennis
