I've been a fan of the Sony a6000 series of cameras, particularly for their size. When I heard the A7C line was coming, I was all in. Due to what I shoot, I decided on the A7CR, but would have as happy with the A7Cii. The size is perfect. The small lenses make them the perfect carry with you camera. The speed at which I can grab a shot is phenomenal. I like the camera as it is, but would like a better EVF. My right eye has cataracts and the image through the EVF is not good. It's my eye, not the EVF. As for buttons, please NO MORE. I shot many years with film cameras like Pentax and Nikon F2 and FE2. They don't have much of anything but a shutter button and shutter speed dial. That's all I need. The question we have to ask, how did all those great photographers get such great shots with primitive cameras? We don't need a million buttons and encyclopedia menu system.

You are a video guy, I never do video ! For photography it is very annoying that the Sony A7CII and A7CR do not have a good joystick and that the EVF is too small with limited resolution, those two cameras are also too expensive compared to the bigger brothers, sometimes the bigger Cameras are on offer and cheaper than the C series. If Sony make a very good Joystick and a larger EVF with better resolution an a Sony A7CRII, I will be one of the first to buy it.

What lenses did you find that was happening with?
@@chrisbrockhurst I was using the Sony 16-35 G with power zoom lens. On another occasion I was using the Sony Zeiss 35mm 1.4.
I would notice before the camera would freeze its auto focus capability would be hindered and or not show the green boxes on screen while pressing whatever button you use to obtain focus.
Hopefully this is probably something Sony could troubleshoot and patch up with an update assuming it’s an issue across the board.
And why not the a7cR if you have the R5 and are thinking of potentially sell it?
Great question. I don’t think the R is worth it for the cost, just my opinion though. My video before covers why
@@chrisbrockhurst well it’s still much cheaper than the R5. I’ll try to find you other video.
I have the A7Cii and have watched all your videos on it. I’m at the point where I want to spend around $1100 on a lens. Should I get the Sigma 24-70ii or the Sony 24-50 2.8?
The Sony 24-50 is going to pair a lot nicer!
@@chrisbrockhurst Thank you!
The A7cii replaced my Sony NEX5n very nicely! Not as compact as the 5n, but it's 4x times the quality and utilizes the lenses i have for my fx3.
Chris, thanks for the video. I have the a7rv. It’s a great camera but I have been considering the A7cii for travel. Do you have a link for the SmallRig L-Bracket. I looked on their website, but don’t see one.
Jump on Amazon, they have a bunch on there
You CAN bake the Aspect Markers, there's an option somewhere in the menu, i saw it another video on it...
I have the same camera and its awesome but what film simulations settings are you using? and what program do you crop to get the 2.35:1 cause i download the images and forget that I was supposed to crop it in that setting.
Great video! Love this type of long term real world review. I’d love to buy your A7R V if you sell it!
Send me a message on IG and let’s make it happen.
I don't quite understand this A7C series camera. They are really not that much smaller than the A7 body, but have inferior EVF and flash sync speed.
Is it 4k 10 bit?
Up to 60fps
Would love a similar one with the ZVE1
Maybeeeeeee
As a voice over artist, it makes me sad to see creator of your calibre promoting AI voice over… eff AI
I agree. I have a generic natural northern voice that works well for corporate and where honesty is vital. In addition, I have honed my skills in Chracter work. I worked hard for my 1st in English Language and use my skills to create adverts and commercial scripts for radio. To advocate the use of AI really doesn't sit well with me. Sorry. Please support talent, not artificial un natural fakery.
Womp womp
The first wave of many a victim to AI unfortunately
@@CrowCraggvoice is not talent …
@@MrBacescu Clearly.....I let others judge whether I have talent or not. I have been very fortunate so far.
Has become my daily carry
I can easily see that
great camera but the one card slot is a big no for me for paid work and as an EDC its still too expensive, even used..
as someone who got to test the a7cII and the a7iv for an hour, I find it really pointless to sell an a7iv for an a7c ii unless you focus more on landscape and domestic animals.
Sony woulda been had my money by now if they added LUT support for JPEGs
Fingers crossed soon
I think it's worth saving up a bit more for this one. If only for the front dial. And 10 bit. And auto framing.
And now Sony, give us LUT import for stills ❤
Plsssssssss
@@chrisbrockhurst would you choose the A7cii over the x100vi?
Chris, I apologize for the insensitivity of my previous comment. Although I find it frustrating to see so many ads for Artlist, I understand that sponsorships are a substantial source of income for UA-cam content creators, and I can't legitimately fault you for partnering with a company you like. Thank you for the quality content you provide.
Battery sucks for videos, but otherwise a great camera!
I honestly think that you have the best channel on UA-cam.
Every video is informative, educational and done superb!
Thank you.
Great video
Ok but what the fuck is up with this video's quality? like I put it in 4k and it looks like 720p or worse.
A7Cii gonna sell like hotcakes...Oh wait
It did haha
Sold in big numbers waited ages for mine. Worth the wait
zeiss lenses work best on this camera. I have a 24-70 f4 and and an 85 f1.8 Used sigma lenses for a while and the colors were not as acurate which required post prod work. I'm happy with this camera. the creators app is decent thogh not as good as the quik on gopros. if I could have the quik app with sony cameras that would be an amazing experience.

Hello
😎
Я вот думаю zv e 1 🎉
Love the video, I’m sure your aware of this, you said it has oversample 6k sensor, not 7k sensor. I’m sure your on a tight deadline and was like I’m going fix that and take the video. Thx for hearing me out
Really nice camera! I have paired it with my Tamron 17-50mm f2.8! 📸
Very nice
you mean 17 50 f4?
@@troywalt4834Yes sorry F4. It was late 😉
@@Pfagnan haha yeah i was like if this lens exists i definitely need it
Just keep using you’re a7iv simple
It’s gone!
Why so much walking? lol
Horrible render... but thanks for the review

@@chrisbrockhurst Was watching the video in 4k and the whole picture is just shribled in pices and fell appart. You can see it in the moments like 2:22
