    This VY V6 Storm is in pretty rough shape, but mostly from sitting for ages. So first thing is first... operation clean up, and registration. But, we have no shot at registration with a sagging headlining! As you can see, its being held up with pins as the material had separated from the substrate. So today i'm going to show you how I fix it in under 2 hours, and under $100.
    Next mission is to make sure the mechanicals are up to standard and hopefully, she passes first go!
    But then what?!? Blower? Turbo? Nitrous? V8?... Let us know what you think!

    No more circus tent roof!
    Rolling 1-2 sheets of sound deadening material onto the roof before refitting the headlining also makes a massive difference to acoustics and even as insulation!

      That sound deadener is definitely amazing stuff, but it sure is heavy!

    Did exactly the same way but I did mine all black to keep it modern. The inside plastics, grab handles & visors were all NOS OEM from Holden.
    Great video for those who want to DYI & most satisfying!

    Super satisfying.
    One thing I've recently did on my car for $25 was a stitch on leather wheel cover. Took a total of say an hour and a half and the results are amazing.
    As we all know the later V'series suffer from the wheels getting worn.
    Enjoying the vids, keep it up boys.

      Have seen those wheel cover kits. Might be something to look into if we're feeling frivolous 😅

    Torx are used on the visors as they are considered a safety device.. and every Joe blow has a Philips head screwdriver. Stops people messing with them ya know. Good job big guy!

    Did my ve ute liner, decided to be a tight ass and hand washed the original, found the glue/ foam came off really easy which lead me to squirting off the roof liner too, worked brilliantly!!!! Then used one of those plastic/rubber spray on aerosols, needed a few coats but worked out awesome
    Regards Matthew

    Hey boys good job, I just did my headliner on my vs clubsport, it had a non factory sunroof, I deleted it, patched and repainted and put in a new headliner.it makes a huge difference, I also put in a statesman interior light with the 2 forward facing map lights.
    Do you guys have any 304 parts like a block for a stroker build I want to do. I put a wanted add on gumtree and the only responses I got were from Sydney and Melbourne with big freight costs it's not worth it. So I thought of you guys, being close to where I am. A 304 solid lifter or roller I'm not fussed but a roller cam block would be great, anyhow keep up the great work and the vids.

      Amazing the difference a fresh headliner makes hey Troy?
      We've got a couple spare bits mate but they're all already earmarked for future shenanigans. Like you said, it's starting to get a bit thin on the ground, so gotta hold onto what you can!

    Black cloth would have been a bad choice as anything black gets very hot in hot weather.

    Hi do I need new fabric or will the old fabric do?

    • @TorqHub
      @TorqHub  2 роки тому +1

      Hard to say, without knowing the condition of your current fabric. Have seen people scrape all the foam off and reglue the separated material back onto the headliner, but the result isn't as good. If the budget allows, I'd 100% splurge on fresh material.

      Great work Jordan. One thing I forgot to mention in the video, and the reason I used the Forch adhesive, was its heat rating! A regular spray on adhesive will never hold up to an Aussie summer unless the car is always under cover. So while it's fine to use a cheap fabric, don't skimp on the glue 🤙🏻

    • @JFWGarage
      @JFWGarage 2 роки тому +1

      @@TorqHub $3 for the black fabric and $25 on a decent adhesive glue from supercheap. The new headliner look really good. Like you said it’s all in the prep work

    You won't find this problem in your Japanese cars or South Korean cars. I never owned any European cars, therefore, don't know what happens to them. However, the GMC cars (they say Aussie, I say American) have this terrible problem. Oh, how I hate Holden vehicles - dead elephants.
