Thank you so much!!! Having this problem on my S20 ultra. This is the only fix for now. Turn on always on display and never use the power button to put your phone to sleep. Hope samsung fix this problem asap.
I do hope they do as it seems to affect any Samsung phone. Also a bonus tip I use double tap to wake and the new double tap to turn off the display now which works without needing to touch power.
i am facing the same issue, few mouths back s9 + start doing this ,so when i used always on displayy it worked, but then few updates came phonn was completely fine, bbut one week ago a new update just broke the phone again, for 1st few days always on display fixed it, now even that is. not woking. this is a huge samsung issue.
Thank you so much for this. I've been trying various methods for several weeks. Yours is the only one that has worked. Galaxy S9+. Had to buy another phone on the meantime.
I've been having the green screen problem with my S9 intermittently for months now! Thank you soooo much for this fix! For S9 (Android 10) go to Settings - Lock Screen - Always On Display - ON Then just double tap on the screen to wake up then use the fingerprint reader to turn on without the green screen.
Thanks for this solution Ricardo! Almost three years and this still works! I woke up this morning and my screen was extremely green, I realized that I tried turning off the always on display before I went to bed, now I can use my phone again! Merry Christmas from the Philippines, Ricardo!
Yes I, fi real! There does also appear to be some temperature component to this. If the issue is occurring and you stick the phone in the refrigerator for a few minutes you can use the hardware power button to your hearts content. But as soon as it starts to approach room temp, the problem comes back. Further evidence of this is that if you use the "Run Graphics Test" from "Android Recovery Mode" to exercise the graphics circuitry immediately after removing the phone from the refrigerator, the problem is triggered. This together with the AOD workaround appears to suggest; there are 2 ways for the screen to come on. 1.) via the the hardware power button and 2.) via the AOD software. Method #1 appears to be affected by temperature. As someone else suggests, an update may have damaged circuitry and maybe why the issue is not with every single device. (some weak material in the hardware circuitry of some devices that couldn't tolerate the software update screw up) This is a horrible problem for SAMSUNG, especially since it seems to persist in several S models. Time to look at other brands...... geez!
Thank you, Ricardo! This display issue has been a thorn in my side for a couple of months now. Even though I had the "Always On Display" set, it was on "Tap to show". This was fine for clearing the display on power-up, but anytime I got a phone call the display would revert and I couldn't fix the display any time during the call. The "Show always" setting seems to resolve this. This is definitely a software issue for my phone (never had water; the liquid damage indicator is negative; phone always in a Pelican case).
Thanks! had the same problem with my s9 plus and this worked! 3 updates ago the flickering began and got worse with every update... the last update was an hour ago and the screen was green constantly. :( I am so glad i found this fix of yours! Thanks!

Hi. Your video really helped me resurrect my S9plus. It was very hard to see enough to get into settings but I managed, often by hitting buttons repeatedly. After I did what you suggested I then booted the phone into recovery mode and factory reset the phone. This almost completely fixed the phone. Finally I went back into recovery mode and erased the cache. Now my phone is 100% fixed and I do not need to use the "always on" anymore !!.....I should now make my own video and I probably will! Thannk you very much for the video.. I was about the buy an iphone because of this issue, you saved a ton of money. What i observed in my galaxy s9 is, you can use the power button to lock the screen, but unlock it only when the date and time is seen to make it work. If you unlock even before the time is displayed in screen the issue will be observed.
oh nice thanks for the upload. Had a similar problem, where my phone wouldn't turn on sometimes, but instead had a horizontal green line on top. Turning on the always on display was a great idea, whenever always on display is on I can unlock without issues. I actually have no problem closing it using the power button, except to turn it back on just need to wait for the always on display to show. Was gonna buy a new phone, but might still use this one for a few months now. Cheers
Very nice, this helped a lot on my S9. I already noticed that plugging in the charger cable would activate the lock screen, from which I could unlock the display without issue. The always-on notification has the same effect.
Good to know i'm not the only one, but just for your information, its a bug, and i don't think samsung will fix this any time soon, thank you for the help.

I couldn't try the suggestion with restarting it in Safe Mode and clearing the Cache because I get nothing but a black screen and can't see anything. Sadly, the fools at Samsung didn't seem to listen to that part. I guess I am probably going to have to get a new phone since they clearly aren't going to do anything about it. Ok friend
I thought I was color blind for a minute 😂
Lol
my s20 ultra screen was just always white..How Can I Do ??Same Problem ??
Hello, my friend, it's a matter of screen or motherboard?
Motherboards. I updated my s9+ on android 10 recently along with Samsung's minor latest update. I Purchased 2 amoled display already and they keep on acting up like that green tint and lines at the same time sometimes flickering and used to be deep blacks are now deep maroon which is frustrating.
And the phone is draining more battery and heats up really quickly too
@@drexelbrise_156 so never buy samsung premium phones
@@Gkm- i would rather stay with Samsung's midrange than going to their flagships
@@drexelbrise_156 me too in future
How to fix that?
What if I can't get to the always on display? My screen is too green for me to do anything.
Keep force restarting until the display gives you a chance to
@@rickytlc1985 I've done it over 30 times

@@Ayaps2023 yes i have done it, my screen was same as shown in this video, i got worried and change to replace it, but original screen price was around 17k so i kept it like that only, and every day i use to tap on screen and one day screen was normal so i just reset my phone completely and now its working fully fine as usual
@@FASTERBOLT87 Okay thanks Bro...I appreciate
Just make complain to samsung. And show them evidence. After update i got this problem.
What happens when you change the brightness? I can have very dark or very light. Anything between it goes green.
mine didn't work for some reason
Will try this in my Note 10 and see if the issue appears less often
It really worked. Thank you very much.
Thanks alot, I can keep my phone for another year now.
Enjoy it
hai i found this out on my own but after it just completely stay in a light yellow screen and i cant change it bak so d screen could share clear
@everyone Whats the reason for this issue I think something to do with battery
The problem is when you get incoming calls. You cannot pick up the phone because the green screen freeze the phone.
I dont have that particular problem.
Same problem. I've had to always plug in earphones so I can answer or end it. I had to rely on a smartwatch to identify callers
You can set press volume up key to answer by going to phone call settings 😀😀😀
Sir, if you on the phone, the screen will naturally off when you put the phone in ear, and then when you need to turn on the screen while on the phone, the screen will auto on and the screen is coming green back. Have you solution with this problem?
i experienced a white and green flickers on my S20 Ultra 5G last Sept 3, 2021 but I updated my phone last August.. What should I do, the warranty was over 1 year already.
You can still use the power off button but wait about 5 seconds and the clock will appear, Then when you turn it back on the screen is working ok but if you don't wait for the clock to appear you will get the green screen
Is is a ui problem or screen problem
There is a comment below that explains the issue from a user.
My phone is very green and I cannot see anything. I tried the no power button tip and it did not work. Can someone help me?

@@bingus1691 were you still under warranty? How much did you have to pay? Did you have scratch on your phone?
@@mariejhoe27 I'm not under warranty. It cost $0 Dollars . And I didn't have to do anything to my phone
I still cant fix my phone tho ,it jyst happens today and im ready to breack it somebody help me.
Sir i think you need to turn off the WQHD resolution too, and also dont put your screen to sleep when any game are running
But otherwise your solution worked for me. Thanks
Thanks for the added discovery-might also add to helping another user. I Disabled on time and saw no effect, will test more though.
@@rickytlc1985 the fact that I got now is the green tint happen on my device when the device or at least the screen is hot. To prevent it, dont apply maximum brightness and maximum resolution, and after playing game or heavy use the device or screen, let them sleep by it self, mine is set to automatic sleep after 30 second and it work for me. If I tried to sleep my screen by double tap or lock button, my aod turns green for about 5 second, and then turn black again, after that the screen will back to normal.
Atleast that solution work for me, and prevent green screen to appear. I think that the problem on one device is different with others, so we need to research by our self on our device, but at least we provide much way to solve it. Also i hope my device problem wont get woelrst. Hahaha. Thanks.
@@adhikakurnia549I have exactly same problems. This helps. I ask samsung centre, it cost 2 million rupiahs to replace my S10e LCD lol
