Hi, ex-samsung engineer here - when heating the device, place it on its front rather than the back. The reason for this is that the heat is not being applied directly to the battery or NFC/wireless charging coil, and removing the back glass is a lot easier. The heat will also evenly distribute throughout the body, and will allow you to remove the back glass.

When trying to separate the back cover or the lcd you can dip the prying tool in 96%-98% alcohol or put a drop of it on the prying tool while is stuck inside to make the glue separate fast. Just don't go too fast so you don't break or tear something. And don't use too much of alcohol as it can damage the lcd in some cases.

for the back panel i sometime use dental floss to remove it, sounds stupid but works really well as well as a few drops of isopropyl alcohol helps make the glue less sticky.
Great phone, and great job! I Bought it recently on Ebay. I slipped in my Verizon sim and it worked like a charm, even though it's AT&T branded,- Boy did I get lucky!
Interesting thought: If you sold phones in 2 versions, 1 being very easy to repair but had no waterproofing and the 2nd being totally waterproof but not user repairable, I'd bet the general public would go for the latter because they like the thought of a waterproofed phone. Here's the interesting part: I bet if you asked the general public how many had broken their phones screen or needed a battery replaced due to capacity loss vs how many had lost a phone solely due to water damage, the vast majority would belong to the former group. We tacitly agree to harder and harder to repair phones for reasons like better waterproofing, but we end up needing the ability to easily repair a phone far more often than we need one that's able to take a dunk under water. Humans are dumb sometimes.
There is little sense in quoting the RRP of an almost a year old phone. The note 10+ 256GB is currently selling for AU$1200 new, but I have seen it little over the AU$1000 mark at various sales before. You can grab a used undamaged one off eBay for under a AU$1000. Given this is used, not water resistant and didn't come with any accessories I'd say the savings are more like $100~$200 at best.

What do you mean, that iPhone 11 (Pro) (4:20) have issues after dropping it? Is this happen often?
I also heared, there are some issues with the S10 Series.
The s8's vibration was awesome 😍
1:20 he’s getting aggressive with it,I thought he was gonna break it
It's speed up
Nezuh kun I’ve been aggressive with unscrewing a stripped screw on the inside of an iPhone 8, I missed and stabbed the front camera cable, now it doesn’t work so be carful
"this series of flex cables"
*wierd flex but ok*
This ain't it chief
It's w e i r d not w i e r d.
More like wired flex, but ok
Now we have matching phone sir :D
You should use X-Ray film cut up to size to remove glued backs. It is thin enough but strong enough tu cut thru the adhesive. I use it daily and it works amazingly well.
for the back panel i sometime use dental floss to remove it, sounds stupid but works really well as well as a few drops of isopropyl alcohol helps make the glue less sticky.
There’s a mother board and a daughter board, what about the father board😂
He left to get power it’s been 15 years
Feminists be like 🤫😤
hes just out getting a pack of smokes
Father is the battery which powers (empowers) both
He went to get a higher voltage, but he hasn't come back
358 dollars?
That phone wich is broken will cost 100dollars in my country
350 dollars is like a 2nd hand good condition Samsung S10+ or a Iphone X
Where do you live?🤔😃

Congrats on 400k mate I'm so happy for you
Great job! Man that sucks that the vibration motor got damaged because to me it's a lot stronger than the one it was replaced with.
9:06 "Now this stuff is incredibly strong" stoner alert!!
why buy new phone if u can Repair it cheaply? Good Work, mate. =)
Watching this on my cracked note 10+ as well 😂
I'm not sure you know what irony means
I always suggest if you are using heat to remove adhesives, that its wise to use heat when applying it as well. Just try it.
When you pulled up the battery at 5:45 it looked as if it had been damaged somewhat as the battery had a slight curve down the middle.
how did he save 1017$ when it costed him up to 700$ to buy and repair it, while he could've bought a new one for 1100$? isn't that a saving of 400$?
0:19
@@smitpatil1227 oof why is a phone selling for 1700$ damn that's harsh
7:27 bruh
Imagine finding a $300 Note10 on eBay
I found one for free in an goodwill bin
Congrats on 400k dude im really enjoying the vids during this time keep the great work
Great phone, and great job! I was about to buy a used one but then decided on a Note 8 that was used with a small almost invisible crack on the screen, for only $109, thus I saved hundreds of dollars! I Bought it recently on Ebay. I slipped in my Verizon sim and it worked like a charm, even though it's AT&T branded,- Boy did I get lucky!
Who else is watching this on a Samsung device
Not this time I am watching on iPad mini 4
Same haha on a Note10+ 5G
11 pro Max
Unfortunately I am
Samsung galaxy s10 ➕

Given this is used, not water resistant and didn't come with any accessories I'd say the savings are more like $100~$200 at best.
that's why I recommend using a temperature gun to make sure you don't pass the one eighty Fahrenheit you can definitely melt components going to 200
i honestly might do this, i've been straying away from apple
Love how all this turned out! Great job, dear @Hugh Jeffreys! Way to go! Thanks for the great content, man! Keep up the good work, mate! Peace! ❤ (●'◡'●)
And stay safe & healthy at these perilous times, man!

I bought one of these (the 512GB model) in good state for €680 secondhand, it looks like new.
Can say, I love this phone. Since I already have the Galaxy Buds, it's not a big deal that it doesn't have a headphone jack.
Hi big brother, I am from INDIA, I loved your videos... your restoration works are amazing, I wish i can buy a refurbished flagship phone from you but i cant afford it...
I dont repair phones, I don't own a repair shop or anything. But watching his videos are so satisfying ❤️
for everyone saying he won jackpot don't forget that the phone isn't water resistant dust resistant it has a samsung s10+ vibration motor doesn't have his original box nor charger
Lets get Hugh to 500k!! (Love your videos btw, keep up the good efforts)
I must say that this is one of the best phone repair channels
Good job brother....keep it up...
I think a nylon thread and rubbing alcohol would be a good option for curved edges because it will automatically change shape according to the shape of device...
Give Apple another year or so and they'll assemble their phones with super glue.
Saving 1000 dollars is a crazy amount to save on a phone like that
Also congrats on 400k 🎉
its a used phone... frame is scratch... click bait bullshit
Congrats on 400K subscribers!! 🥳
hold the device with the cameras toward the ceiling.
Heat the top side for 50 secs while consistently moving the heat across the device
take isesmo and carefully insert on the heated side; creating a gap
insert your plastic pick and take out isemo
slide the pick along the edge of the device removing the adhesive
repeat for the other sides.
At 4:37 my hey siri activates.
Does anyone know where Hugh buys screens? It's hard to find. Thanks in advance
Try ifixit it is more expensive but it’s quality parts
@@InferiorSerperior Thx for your reply. I checked ifixit but they don't ship most of the parts that are shown in US to Europe. There are some things in AliExpress, but the same, way less things for Europe than America.
is it me or this kind of video is very satisfying.
Congrats on 400k mate, you earned it.
