@@AmelieC-ek7ne Hey Amanda, there’s another song called Like The Wind that played on a radio broadcast from the 80s and the true name of the song, as well as the artist is still unknown.

Sounds like something you'd hear in Initial D First Stage. Also, actually sounds like an options menu theme, compared to the English one, which best fits for racing. Japan's Gran Turismo ost knows how to use its soundtrack well.
Oh btw the song you may be referring to is the “Joy” song from initial d that plays in the first stage when he usually wins or makes a miracle. If you do a search for “Initial D Joy” you should find it.
Because it literally is almost the same song as "Date" in Initial D First Stage, lol. Has the same mood and even the 90's saxophone. Both are my favorite.

This is the absolute top of the mountain where department store/on hold music is concerned. This is the peak. There is nothing better. Every single JC Penny's and Alco store had a song like this playing in the early 1990s but this is like the caviar of that music. This music would have had me dancing in my kitchen on the wall landline phone, waiting to talk to a customer representative. This music will brighten your day. It's perfect.
This is what makes Gran Turismo a game you can play for hours straight. After going hardcore for 4 hrs at the Nurburgring Nordschleife and coming back to the menu to music like this, it's great
And this is why I will forever listen to Japanese music, I grew up with all the NTSC versions of Gran Turismo from 1 - present, so almost none of the great Jazzy funky tracks like these, But a few years back I discovered retro Japanese music of all genre's from the late 70's to around the early 90's, Stuff like City Pop, Jazz Fusion and some light rock. Right now I'm binging Xerf Xpec's "Yatabe Track Day" playlists on YT, but one day a few years back I happened to stumble across the Japanese OST's for GT1 and GT2 on YT and when I heard this and a few other tracks on it I Immediately had the same realization as you did, it was one of the coolest things ever since I listen to Casiopea and T Square regularly! Just goes to show that Polyphony Digital doesn't accept anything but the best.
