When I was a kid I would listen to Gran Turismo 2 blasting through my TV all day on my PS1. Sometimes I wouldn't even race, just draw or play with my toys. I used to dream of owning a 90s Supra or RX7 and drive around my hometown. Man the memories!!!!
Bro that red 93 Supra is always my starter car. Easy to drive, cheap to upgrade. That game was in a class of it's own back then. Still want a red 93 Supra in my real garage!
Gran Turismo music is the absolute pinnacle of any car/racing game music. I wish I had a PlayStation to play GT7. I played it all the time with my dad when I was little.
I think the early 2000s had such a great thing going on in the world of acid jazz and fusion. It was pretty popular in the japanese video game space, judging by the OSTs that a lot of Dreamcast and PS2 games sported. Jamiroquai was still doing their lovely little thing over in London. This Gran Turismo collection really shows off some of that video game music that I still can't get enough of. Shout out to Mario Kart 8 for their excellent OST that draws a lot from jazz fusion.
I completely agree, it capture an age of expansion of technological capabilities without a clear vision of where it takes our society in the future. It’s a global vibe that represents the entire modern human age
This brought me back. I remember just browsing cars in the garage with my dad since we used the same save file, with Be At Home strumming along in the background. He'd show me his favorites, compare them to mine, and talk about the times he may have seen or worked on one or two.

Having this on whilst preparing for an interview makes me feel so relaxed and like I'm gonna boss this interview lol. Core memories of playing Gran Turismo after school, and now having time to play it after work feels very full circle for me.

Played this game so often when I was 6 to 10 years old. I have a whole collection of good memories of me playing it with my older brothers. They would sometimes pull an all-nighter just to win a long race. It was really epic.

I used to play a lot of GT3-GT6 with my dad we can no longer play them because our ps2 and ps3 dont work anymore and I always go back and listen to their great soundtracks that bring back so many wonderful memories
the neat thing about this is that I had practically never played GT or see much of it on my own, but I heard some of the tracks here and immediately remembered some cause my dad used to play alot of the GT games (not as much right now) and sometimes he'd jus be on a menu screen or the car editing thingy or whatever it was in the games, and id listen in and take in that sweet ass music.
I remember some of this music because I used to play gran turismo 5 as a child, they are wonderful, now I listen to them to work in the office... a nice background.

Still doubt I played it but I appreciate some nostalgia that ones from missing the days when I was younger.
