I started playing this game on an emulator recently, I'm not exactly an OG player, I never owned a PS2 nor even had contact with the GT franchise. But the moment I started it up and the intro music kicked in I said to myself "this is f*cking it." I've never heard a racing game with such fine soundtrack.
This is what makes GT stand out from most racing games. It's not another random and generic racing game with trending OST and easy to manage but unrealistic physics. And don't get me wrong: these games for sure have their places in the market and most of them are also very fun to play. But Gran Turismo is in another league: it is made with passion BY car enthusiasts FOR car enthusiasts. Everything about this game - from the minimum details in the cars' models, textures and info to the refined and great soundtrack - was carefully thought to deliver the pinnacle of racing game experience. IMHO, the PS2 games were the golden age of Gran Turismo.

@YOungSheek216 Yeah, the intro song depends on region. In North America the song is Panama by Van Halen. I chose the JP region song because I like it the most and it's the only one that continues through the series.
