    Thank you for all the info on these pool robot models. I like buying the best I can find and knowing the differences is extremely helpful. Now I'm looking at a local store that does the serving and sales for the model I want. Thanks again for the info.

    This is by far one of the best explanations that totally untangles the terribly confusing mass of model options at the maytronics website. I also now understand why the premier is ranked the best by some very knowledgable sounding commentators. Thank you. If pelicon was in my state i would be there tomorrow buying my robot. I am not sure yet if i’m going to splurge on the e70 or go with the m400, but now the choice is so much clearer. I subscribed!!!!

      M400 is a great value compared to other similar priced units. if you want to save $100 compared to an E70 the M600 is the same thing minus the thermostat. also I have a coupon code for them in the comments of the 2023 version of this video :)

      By the way, as an update, in case it helps anyone decide: I ended up buying the Dolphin Formula 30.
      I was expecting more for the 830 euros spent (975€ regular price). This thing won’t clean the walls (falls off half the time) nor the waterline (starts going sideways, but won’t go very far). The fine filter gathers stuff, but most of it goes back to the pull through the propeller. In the slope through the longitudinal axis, it kind of goes ‘crazy’ many times and kind of goes floating around.
      In my opinion, not a good investment (i was weary of buying a cheap alternative, but they don’t seem so bad anymore.

    I recently purchased the cc plus from Amazon before coming across your video. I realize I don’t have anywhere your depth of knowledge but as I watch this thing navigate around the pool it comes right up to the waterline and goes as far as it can before it hits a obstruction, so I’m confused when everyone says they don’t do the waterline. Even the instructions say it doesn’t do that. But nevertheless, it does it in my inground pool. Now I am concerned about only having a fine filter and I’m wondering if there are any workarounds for that

    • @thedolphindoctor
      @thedolphindoctor  2 роки тому

      in some pools it can manage to do it. Very rarely though. it isnt consistent so Maytronics cant advertise it. the way the motor is weighted its heavier on one side so it tends to lean and not go straight up..... Ultra fine filters can be purchased online I believe the part number is 9991432-ASSY

    Thank you for the informative video. For an novice buyer, it is really helpful to have this level of detail. Many of the models appear to use filters which work well for finer debris. What's unclear is if these models work well in pools which are subjected to flower drop in the spring and falling leaves, especially in the fall. The Polaris pressure side sweepers with a bag are pretty good at picking up leaves, but have their own negatives. Are some models better than others at picking up leaves as well as finer debris?

    • @thedolphindoctor
      @thedolphindoctor  2 роки тому +1

      Any of these models can get debris like that. I would just use the "fine" filters instead of the "ultra fine". All the brick and mortar options have both in box

I have one question: do the control units all run only on 110v or do some of them run on universal voltage - 100-250V? I ask because I am thinking of buying this for use overseas, where the voltage is 240V.

    • @thedolphindoctor
      @thedolphindoctor  2 роки тому

      Id be cautious with "a LOT of leaves" Id get any obvious piles out with a deep net. You need a basket model for more than regular amounts so it can handle it a tad bit more before considering itself "full". more strain on the motor means it wont last as long just be mindful of that.

    Does the M400 third brush makes a difference to the M600? Which one would you recommend between the two?

    • @thedolphindoctor
      @thedolphindoctor  2 роки тому

      Id say its indifferent. usually, 2 brushes is just fine. Im assuming it doesnt make that much of a difference if they cut that feature from the M600 which is supposed to be better all around. M400 has more parts due to this brush, if you keep it in the pool 24/7 its just more parts that could go wrong down the line from chlorine eating at it. I always suggest take it out when not in use anyway.

      M200 has been retired since 2019. But it wouldve fallen into the same category as the nautilus cc plus. keep in mind this video is outdated. (2022 version) the 2024 version is up on the channel with more up to date info

      @@thedolphindoctor I reviewed this and the 24 video - no mention of a M200 from what I can see in the slides. (exceptional content!!)
      I was gifted an M200 with the fine filter cartridges. The literature seems to suggest this is a bottom-cleaning robot only, correct? I see that it actually cleans the sides of my inground 17x35 AS WELL it can scrub the waterline to a decent degree. So I wonder if there is such a thing as a "late" or 'upgraded' M200 with more functionality? I'm very happy with this functionality for sure. Thanks for the insights!

    • @thedolphindoctor

      Glad you found the video! yes premier tends to be overpriced higher then that $1199 MSRP. S300 etc would do just as well in my opinion plus it comes with the cart and wifi. BEST performance though will be M400 or M600/Active 60. The best "bang for your buck" would be s300(or equivalents), m400 and m600 plus they all come with the ultra fine filters and the better dealer support if you buy from someone like pelican who I have in the video

      @@thedolphindoctor thank you so much for this video. All of UA-cam seems like a marketing video for the Sigma and Premier so I really had nothing to go on. I’m in the final stages of pool construction on my first pool so have no experience and the robots that seems to have the best ratings are Sigma and Premier but I was always suspicious because the Premier is so old and the thing the tout with it (leaf bag) seems ridiculous because it’s not as if the bag is allowed to expand inside. It has to conform to the same basic shape as the cartridges so you’re not really getting much more capacity and seems like a gimmick. I have a little bit more research to do thanks to your video. I'm curious how beneficial WiFi is to the decision between, say, the Active 20 and Active 30? Is the caddy the more significant addition of value, rather than the WiFi "ability"?

    • @thedolphindoctor

    Sharkvac vs dolphin nautillus cc?

    • @thedolphindoctor
      @thedolphindoctor  Рік тому

      any nautilus cc would be better. sharkvac only having 1 year warranty is terrible. Also Hayward could be a real pain with warrantys. their designs are often overcomplicated with more parts that could possibly go wrong. Id go dolphin everytime. I would say however the dolphin E30 is better than the cc. E30 will do waterline scrubbing and has the basket design for only $100 more or so.

    Amazon teamed up with asurion to provide extended warranty after the manufacturer one runs out. Any thoughts or experience with that? I have my phone insurance through them and they've always been great. It's quite tempting to want to do the online purchase now with this reasonably priced extended warranty. Esp after my dolphin nautilus broke (motor died) at 2.75 years when we had manufacturer warranty up to 2.5 years🤦‍♀️.

      You would still need to send it to maytronics which peak season takes a long time. Id still buy from a dealer. Usually maytronics will honor warranties within a month or two especially when a service center submits it for you. I know pelican does all the work and its free shipping. I personally dont like extended warranty companies as most times they always have exceptions and things that void it. Shady.

    • @thedolphindoctor

      The way the E70 is designed and any model for that doesnt have a float handle are designed to not need it. Instead that have floats and even weights in key areas on the robot to help with the buoyancy. That being said SIGMA is often overpriced online so be watchful of that. should only be 1499 or so. not 1699..... it doesnt even come with a cart. • @thedolphindoctor

      That does seem strange. I will say this the first few times it goes it will be measuring the pool so it will go until it hits a wall and then reverse while tracking how long it takes to get to the next wall and so on. I would give it a few more tries. I dont think the wonder brush would make a difference. If the problem presists i would go to your dealer and have them submit the 30 day bad out of box claim so you can get it swapped. Once in a while it happens with any model. Another thought is manually brush the walls. If its been a while since u had a robot in there or did any brushing you could have slippery walls from microscopic algea leading to the unit to struggle. Im suprised it hasnt gotten much. Thats usually one of the top guys when it comes to filtering. I would check impellar as well
