Nothing against top-tier Jets and or low Tier Props but either type of plane you use they both need to use strategic playing as well. You can pick a top-tier jet game and have it over in 3 to 5 mins or you can learn to maneuver in a prop and learn these things to get better. So idk MrUnivers but if it takes you 45 mins to climb you are doing something terribly wrong 😉 To each their own and locking onto an enemy with an Aim or an AMRAM or even better a phoenix or Python doesn't take much know-how or much for a skill level and neither does having an all aspect AAM. Also buying a XP 50 doesn't take much to climb up and drop down on new players. Honestly, its more on what a person prefers. For some people rank 3 and 4 and lower dog fights are actually their thing like you yourself said in the video there isn't much for dog fights in top-tier jets and if anyone who has played them knows this, there is quite a bit of them if you play rank 5 jets where Aim-9B start coming in and PL-2 and what have you. Really it's all that makes the player happy to play and promotes that euphoric feeling for them. Playing top-tier jets use to be fun when it was Sabers and then came the Star Fighter and it all went to crap kind of. Missile discipline is important, but don’t forget radar discipline. Turn it off when you’re trying to get the jump on people so they don’t see you behind them on their RWR.
At 2:21 the player who was killed by my friendly was an ADF but in death feed it shows (F-16A). I went to replay all the f-16 players in that match were ADF players :)!
But some guy on Reddit told me there is 0 skill in top tier!!!!!!! Great video, thank you for bringing up situational awareness. If I can ask, where are these air rb leaderboards you mention?
Reddit is always right Kappa LOL! If you go to community at the top left, you should then see leaderboards then top left to select Air Realistic Battles and there are different category's for the leaderboards ie. Kills to flyout ratio and winrate % :)!
That's not far from a lie because if a person can make key binds and learn them they could come out of a top-tier battle most likely with 2 kills if not 1 for sure. I have been playing WT since it started and it was called World of Planes then changed to WT and there was nothing but planes in the game. Also, there wasn't anything like these rank 8 or 7 jets they had the Sabers. Props do bring more nostalgia and euphoric feelings for a lot of players and the Top tier just brings 3 mins of your life gone barely without much of a fight. Just learn the key binds and what each AAM can pull or do along with Radar types. You could say pay your way to an F-14B and just spam a Radar missile and fly back to your airfield when gone and I have seen it and that person ends up with 4 to 6 kills EZ and that's because many have the slightest clue how to evade them and because Gaijin likes to sell 70 dollar premiums to pre school kids But nothing against top tier players because maybe that's there thing and that's what they enjoy. But if you like to get in games fighting America vs America and Germany vs Germany quite a bit than GL with that.
@@farmcat9873 Someone can just as easily learn keybinds and get a kill or two in props by going full commit in a head on. Additionally, AAMs are way more than how much they can pull. The AIM-9D can pull 1G more than the AIM-54. Which one is useful at 3km rear aspect? 30km head on? I don’t see how learning your missiles and radar is NOT an extension of learning your plane. I will agree that Phoenix spamming is devoid of skill, but the results of Phoenix spammers show that. Rarely do I see a spammer with more than two kills (most of the time with 0). And when in a disadvantageous position, they either leave the game or get killed with little effort. Skill is not determined by how easily you can get one or two kills, it’s determined by your ability to prioritize targets, choose the right engagements, survive, and win based on an ever-changing situation where you use your plane and it’s weaponry to its absolute fullest.
Paused at the question. I would go for the 5 players, because getting the numbers advantage for my team would make it more likely multiple friendlies can engage the top 20 player.
i got bored grind and just bought my premium F-4S and i hate that everything happens so fuckn fast in top tier i am like what is my radar mode how can i change that and boom i am dead asf. this tutorial actually helped me to change my way of thinking so thanks 4 the tutorial and i have to say u r a amazing player
There are plenty of F-4S videos and how to set up radar cuz the missiles and radar is rlly good but it's susceptible to notching so just be on the look out for that.
At 3:39 "He should have jousted with the AIM-7F" brother the 7F does not win the joust against 24R at this distance what are you cooking if you are willing to test it i'll be happy to help : ^ )
Im an idiot lol. Read it wrong, you are correct. My missile would have won that joust due to multiple circumstances that were in my favor (Alt, radar spotting him first and close range) Thanks for the comment!
I just got the F-14B yesterday and doing pretty good in it, trying to get 2 K/D ratio with it or higher, i think the biggest problem i have here is missile discipline. (I think the highest i can possibly reach is only 3, and thats if i do actually somehow get even better). I have a bad habit of launching 7M’s on players that are less than 300 meters off the ground even tho I KNOW they’re gonna avoid it. Im not gonna do that anymore and im also not gonna use my 9L’s for headons since 99.9% that will be flared. Another pretty bad one is, almost everytime i go into altitude at like 7-8k meters up to utilize my -54C’s, i am the ONLY person who climbs in my team, while usually there is at least 2 enemies who climb and more often than not they’re MiG-29’s so now i have to worry about 4 R-27ER’s unless the other mig goes somewhere else. This creates a problem for me since i panic everytime i get radar i think its a MiG-29 or yak-141, but everytime i disengage to notch i have not seen a single missile fired at me, so i just notched for a missile that never comes. I just ask myself after the match if the “Players” who were radar locking are actually players or NPC’s. Il take the -54C to practice again to get better at cranking and not just nothing. Thanks for the video.
Btw universe how do you play the F-14B on non-EC maps? I usually take 3 AIM-9L’s with the BOR CM pods with 5 sparrows, on ec maps, i take two AIM-9L with CM pods, -7M’s, and 54C’s. Also should i go high altitude regardless if its EC map or not?
Love this comment. You are self aware of your mistakes and have set goals for yourself. You will succeed with out a doubt, continue this mindset of understanding how you can improve and you'll get a 3+kd with ease! Mentioning your notching situation: be more confident use your vision to spot out radar missiles if you don't see any just crank and drop alt and be confident. If you become scared of dying you'll continue to die more. just let loose and unleash hell with the knowledge you've gained from dying and use it to your advantage.
Play as a support when playing the f-14b is handles awful in intense situations. I usually take 4/4 Aim9Ls with flare pods and 4 aim7m's i find this better in my playstyle due to the aim9L's being broken OP but its honestly a learn curve from how you play so it may take time to figure it out. :)
@@MrUniversTV “Be more confident and just crank if you don’t see any missiles” yeah NOT doing this is the source of my “ER hits everything” fear, 54C’s seems to track better than the -54A, so il take it again (only on maps like Afghanistan or rock canyon, on vietnam, spain, usually mobody climbs) and see if i can kill a MiG-29 or two and help my team by having less R-27ER’s to worry about. But the amount of bombing phantoms and F-16 ground pounders are making my situation harder than it has to be, other F-14B’s or Mirage-2000 players are 100% of the time the better teammate that can help me. Also the BOR pods on the 14B helps, a lot. I love this jet, my most capable jet right now, and im about to get the ADF, but overall i would still like the 14B better.
Recently I've been struggling to get past the 5-6 kd and 70-80% wr range on some of my top tier jets, honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong alot of the time. I play solo without J-ing out on af or killing AIs but it's a rough time trying to get my stats up, mostly my kd
Sometimes its a playstyle issue. you seem to have everything down just need to mix things up and find your style. Took me some time as well. Just take it easy and take your time. It'll come with time
Thank you! ive been playing since around 2019 December time, i briefly quit for sometime before returning when the f4e came out :) and have been grinding since
@@MrUniversTV That's awsome btw u are so good at the game so that's why i ask you do u have any tip for the ja37c i been having a hard time with it so any tips?
Mig-29 that is bombing is an " extremealy dangerous target" 😅😅😅.The plane might be dangerous but you will NEVER see a good pilot bombing with a mig-29. And if he does it for the memes,he will definetly react to your aproach better then just turning away.
i play the tornado ids from germany as a fighter so im pretty used to brick handling and i found that playing really bad jets that arent suposed to be dogfighting really improves your skill and techniches since almost all of the time you need to pull off something almost impossible to win, so when i got inside a mig 29 i was getting like 10-15 kill per match, also you are faster at making important decisions since playing a strike aircraft as a fighter is 90 percent about engaging in the right time and being aware of what you can out run or out turn or out climb. i mean if you decide to do what i do you will hate this game for a good 2 months but at the end its worth it
I bought the WTD61, and I can’t bomb bases, I physically can’t get to them without getting chomped by a R-27, so I tried playing fighter, and it’s not a fighter, I mean, I’m first dead on every match. I now wish I’d bought the Mig 21 or something instead of the Nasty Tornado WTD61. It’s just bad at everything.
@@TH54_Officialits bad yes but you gotta play bad planes like a vulture. If you cant dogfight DON'T, avoid all engagements unless you're forced to. Bad aircrafts require you to play smarter. You gotta learn when to fight and when not to, if the missle doesn't connect, fuck them. Assess the situation and find someone else to sling a boom stick at. The mig-21 is also very unforgiving. All of them besides the double delta wing bleeds way to much energy to fast meaning you have to fly smarter also
With positional awareness its also understanding that the spotting system is not so great and to work around it by placing yourself in a situation where you are less likely to fall victim to failure of the spotting system. For example flanking from behind enemy lines and staying extremely cautious of your surroundings to avoid being caught of guard by a player. If you are struggling to stop people from IR missiling you, you may need to flare more. A good ex. made by copsi is "Anytime you want to look around for enemies, just flare intuitively. With the expectation of being missiled" I do this commonly when merging with an enemy when friendly's are around and have seen a drop in TK's because of it :).
Exactly... But don't forget the radar tells you a lot of things but honestly a majority of players don't think or think to look at that. Top tier has turned into bottom tier with the skill level of many players due to the Snail selling TOP TIER jets to every Tom, Dick, and Harry that has 70 bucks to spend.
This guy has an extreme ego when killing people ☠ currently balling my eyes out cuz I’m always dying in the f4j but I will try your tactics out…VERY informative video!
I do apologize, My cockiness can get out of hand for sure but that's why I make guides so others can be cocky with me as they improve! :) Have a nice day
Bro how to most people not flare your IR missiles 😭 every IR missile I shoot off is instantly flared even when it seems like they aren’t paying attention to me
With the MiG23? well its quite simple. The MiG23 is extremely fast but its guns and r60s are mediocre at best. Due to low player count as it was the end of the game, more players are self aware of their surroundings meaning that the r60 is extremely easy to flare. So instead of rushing the enemies who are in 4TH gen aircraft who have far superior radar, ir missiles, radar missiles and overall maneuverability. the only weapon I have available at dominating these 4th gen aircraft are my R24R's as they are chaff resistant and extremely dangerous. So all in all playing for speed and using my only 2 good missiles to takeout these unsuspecting 4th gen aircraft 1 by 1 asap is the best way to go about the endgame. Patience is key specially when you are at a disadvantage mechanically.
Why at around 4:36 did you not use your radar in MTI mode? What about this situation made it so src was preferrable? I use the mirage f1c rn which also has MTI so im curious
The radar missiles the MiG23 carrys (R24R) has a special mode in its tracking that’s basically PD so pd is not needed in the radar as it can stilll track the target even if the radar is stuck on the chaff. I prefer this mode because it’s tracks way more consistently than MTI in my opinion.
Do you have any tips to help with stuff like how to multitask easier between playing defensive and offensive at the same time? I’ve been struggling at toptier because I have Asperger’s which makes it hard to multitask and for some reason I just can’t do both at once
sorry i just saw this comment, realistically you have physical limitations which are out of your control so just play for fun and dont take anything too seriously cause this game is quite frustrating when it comes to multitasking. best of luck man!
If we turn off the radar lock or chance the direction of jet, won't the rocket still go towards the jet? I am asking because ı am new at the top tier@@MrUniversTV
so what do i do in a F4J phantom at the start of a match? if i climb, i die. if i stay low, i die. if i stay on the edge of the map, my team dies, and then i die. so far, i haven't enjoyed a single match, i survive 1 in 6 matches and that's usually because my team carries me and i'm like in second-last place... i want to get better but it feels like i can't do anything against F-16s and MiG 29s... i'm outgunned, my engines are outclassed and i'm just frustrated. all i can do is bomb bases in simulator battles and hope to some day unlock the sparrow missiles... and some actual advice would be great instead of "be a better player than the others and you won't die" :/
It’s all about practice, you really expected to be a pro in 6 matches? Lol my advice is for top tier you are in low top tier. It will be much harder for you and that’s guaranteed. But you gotta just see the good in every death and learn from those mistakes and use that for when you have actual jets that can compete in top tier***. Just keep playing with the play style and you’ll figure out your groove eventually. Best of luck
@@MrUniversTV last time i played war thunder, the phantom was top tier. then i took a break and suddenly i'm low tier xD also i didn't say that i played only 6 matches. i said i survive one in six matches ;) though, i was asking what the best way to start a match was. with props, it's mostly climbing. with germans and americans, it's boom & zoom, with brits it's classic dogfighting and russians have a mix of both (energy fighting). with jets, none of seem to work. boom & zoom fails cause missiles are faster than jets. the phantom isn't made for dogfighting. and i have no clue how to energy fight with jets because again: enemy missiles. so far, i've had more luck surviving in DCS world because of the larger map and the sky's not as cluttered with planes. i'm not expecting to become a jet pro within a week, but at least knowing how to start a match without being immediately locked and shot by a missile would be great. in your video, you explain that positioning and awareness is key. but if one doesn't even know what a good or a bad position is, there's not much to be aware of :/ right now i'm avoiding mothballs and just trying to stay outside the fight, but that's no fun at all. especially since i don't have BVR weaponry but everybody else seems to have, it's getting frustrating.
Bruh I've been playing a while and always experienced that if you chaff a non PD radar the SARH will miss. But obviously here that didn't happen. Can you explain. Edit nvrmnd, I remembered r24 has IOG. BTW u sound like ur reading off a script... GPT?
I see your edit lol. and yes GPT for explaining why Positional Awareness, Missile Discipline and Personal Accountability is important from a 3rd person aspect. but after the explanation's of what i was going to be talking about it was all me :)!
Um sorry but most of this is basic, at top tier if you want to survive, reverseal is your best friend and hug the ground like your mum because those radars are everywhere
I feel like the point about going for either zerfix or the other 5 players is basically null. I have no idea who the best players in the game are. What you basically told me is to learn all the good players in the game and recognize who they are if they're in my match so I can avoid them. Like what???
You missed the point of what I was trying to say it’s not about remembering everybody’s name who is good it’s about understanding the players that you were going against. if they have a lot of kills and they’re dominating everyone in their path it’s mainly talking about good awareness and understanding the Jets you’re going against if you see a player with six kills you’re more than likely to understand that he’s a good player and to play it smart when going against them. Lol
Plus WT is doing all these great changes and EVERYONES gonna have countermeasures and FPE so the games gonna end up a little different when people don't have to grind for some of these things anymore. Thats why WT is probably going to fall even more out of my circle and more realistic games will stay for me. Like the Python 3 and the PL-8 DO NOT HAVE THE SAME EXACT statistics in real life but in WT exactly the same. Isn't that odd that the PL-8 was a copy of the Python? The PL-8 Chinese air-to-air missile (AAM) originated from the Israeli Python-3 AAM, (PL short for Pili (Pi Li, 霹雳), meaning thunderbolt or what ever you wanna call it). Experience gained from PL-8/Python-3 helped China greatly in developing its next missile, the PL-9. The PL-8 is not the same exact thing no matter where you read about it, but Gaijin thinks so. Even though they are similar they actually aren't and the PL-8 depending on when it was made could go a bit faster than the Python but couldn't pull the same G's. The seeker of the original Python-3 AAM was able to have slaved to either the airborne fire control radars or DASH HMS. These capabilities initially did not exist on PL-8 at the earlier stage of its service in Chinese hands, because the missile is only compatible with Western radars, but not compatible with Chinese radars. So WT has jets from the 80s and earlier fighting jets from 2000s and above even. Sorry for the rant just WT used to be fun at one point and when they said that they used realistic stats that seems to be a little bit of a lie.
This guy talks in 1.25 speed

Legendary.
@@MrUniversTV I'd never make that decision knowingly, I don't really keep tabs on who's a top player and who isn't lol.
i got bored grind and just bought my premium F-4S and i hate that everything happens so fuckn fast in top tier i am like what is my radar mode how can i change that and boom i am dead asf. this tutorial actually helped me to change my way of thinking so thanks 4 the tutorial and i have to say u r a amazing player
There are plenty of F-4S videos and how to set up radar cuz the missiles and radar is rlly good but it's susceptible to notching so just be on the look out for that.
If your flying through a team fight cut afterburner and shoot through while hitting flares
Thank you brother
Any time brother
At 3:39 "He should have jousted with the AIM-7F" brother the 7F does not win the joust against 24R at this distance what are you cooking
if you are willing to test it i'll be happy to help
: ^ )
Im an idiot lol. Read it wrong, you are correct. My missile would have won that joust due to multiple circumstances that were in my favor (Alt, radar spotting him first and close range) Thanks for the comment!
bro used chatgpt for his script 💀
Brother you are months late. Everyone knew this. Plus it was only the explanation part of each subject.
@@MrUniversTV btw thanks for the video, il use the 54C’s the same way you use them and il see how it goes.
we should thank you for the videos and congrats keep up the grind
Thank-q for the support!
Nice
Recently I've been struggling to get past the 5-6 kd and 70-80% wr range on some of my top tier jets, honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong alot of the time. I play solo without J-ing out on af or killing AIs but it's a rough time trying to get my stats up, mostly my kd
Sometimes its a playstyle issue. you seem to have everything down just need to mix things up and find your style. Took me some time as well. Just take it easy and take your time. It'll come with time
from today on i will call Maverick a AIM54
Congrats.
thank you!
Amazing content brother
Glad you liked it, I appreciate the support!
Nice video I'm trying to grind out the F 16 using the F4s and f5c

hey universe how long have u been playing war thunder and congrats for 1k followers!

@@MrUniversTV That's awsome btw u are so good at the game so that's why i ask you do u have any tip for the ja37c i been having a hard time with it so any tips?
I have a video on the JA37C if you want to copy my playstyle but i may update soon!
Reallt good video help's me a lot. I still have 3-4 kills every game bud i feel more deadliest and comfortable in air fight if it makes any sense lol
Nice videos
Help me very much

Happy to help!
your sounding exactly like one of my teachers lol
17:12 IF ONLY CONSOLE PLAYERS WERE ALLOWED TO DO THAT, along with selling on the gaijin market
Great video btw
Thank you!
Thank you im getting way more kills now
Mig-29 that is bombing is an " extremealy dangerous target" 😅😅😅.The plane might be dangerous but you will NEVER see a good pilot bombing with a mig-29.
All of them besides the double delta wing bleeds way to much energy to fast meaning you have to fly smarter also
@@leschroder7773 but still £65 for the the most dog shit thing in its Tier💀
I would like to know how your positional awareness helps you with the spotting system and literally having a player you cant see 5K from you ?
Problem with that is that using radar to find others is also sending that player a signal of your location. so its best (IMO) to use your eyes :)
Great video, agree with everything that u said. GG👍
Thanks bro
great video :D but can you pls tell me how u use the radar like that straight in the beginning of your video?
I have a radar guide on my channel it was a few weeks ago :) and thank you!

Holy shi... eminem 2.0
Great video :)
Bro how to most people not flare your IR missiles 😭 every IR missile I shoot off is instantly flared even when it seems like they aren’t paying attention to me
Just wondering why RTB when you have 139 rounds left and 2x R60s and 18mins of fuel. What’s the though process out of curiosity
You are the best ❤❤
Very good content
Well deserved 1000 subs
But why you gassing them in the battles😂😂
XD Thank-q!
@@MrUniversTV Thank you! I have the german mig-23 so thats useful for if I want to use it :D
4:35 Why don't you change direction? your radar is locket the consumables.
The radar is tracking the chaff but the missile is still locking the player. That’s why I don’t change it.
If we turn off the radar lock or chance the direction of jet, won't the rocket still go towards the jet? I am asking because ı am new at the top tier@@MrUniversTV
Staring the video with the German mig23 is a bold move, let’s see how this plays out
Edit: wait what plane is that? My RWR is not as good.
so what do i do in a F4J phantom at the start of a match?
if i climb, i die.
if i stay low, i die.
if i stay on the edge of the map, my team dies, and then i die.
so far, i haven't enjoyed a single match, i survive 1 in 6 matches and that's usually because my team carries me and i'm like in second-last place...
i want to get better but it feels like i can't do anything against F-16s and MiG 29s...
i'm outgunned, my engines are outclassed and i'm just frustrated. all i can do is bomb
bases in simulator battles and hope to some day unlock the sparrow missiles...
and some actual advice would be great instead of "be a better player than the others and you won't die" :/
@@MrUniversTV last time i played war thunder, the phantom was top tier. then i took a break and suddenly i'm low tier xD
also i didn't say that i played only 6 matches. i said i survive one in six matches ;)
though, i was asking what the best way to start a match was. with props, it's mostly climbing. with germans and americans, it's boom & zoom, with brits it's classic dogfighting and russians have a mix of both (energy fighting).
with jets, none of seem to work. boom & zoom fails cause missiles are faster than jets. the phantom isn't made for dogfighting. and i have no clue how to energy fight with jets because again: enemy missiles.
so far, i've had more luck surviving in DCS world because of the larger map and the sky's not as cluttered with planes.
i'm not expecting to become a jet pro within a week, but at least knowing how to start a match without being immediately locked and shot by a missile would be great.
in your video, you explain that positioning and awareness is key. but if one doesn't even know what a good or a bad position is, there's not much to be aware of :/
right now i'm avoiding mothballs and just trying to stay outside the fight, but that's no fun at all. especially since i don't have BVR weaponry but everybody else seems to have, it's getting frustrating.
@@MrUniversTV I was put off at first but there is quite a bit to learn from this vid.
Good job!
Get a pop filter for your mic. Not a bad video tho keep up the work.
You know that the f-16a does not have radar missiles right?
this video was released when the F-16ADF would say F-16A in kill feed. That has since been fixed. But ive already confirmed in replays it was a ADF.
Ohh, Yeah i didn’t think about that
I am sorry, I need you to speak a little slower, I am french and I am slow to understand so can you speak slower, after all, really nice video
Sorry!~ glad you enjoyed!
flying straight and chaffing is useless
12:45 exacly
Lol
How to get more kills on our piece of shit jet ?
Its rly simple you just grind MiG-29
*yawn
how the hell you gonna say hes hella good, and he plays baby plane sweden, airplanes that need no damn skill
This is the dumbest comment I think I’ve ever read.
Bro mad respect. Keep it up. Love the content❤ 🤌👌
Thank-q!!!
