@@pissed555 Tack!
and we lived our lives in black 🖤🖤🖤
Nice post , bud. RIP to your brother.
That’s so sad. I’m so sorry.
This band has been instrumental in my life, in a very weird way. I’m not going to get into it. But this is the first time I’ve have the nerve, guts, desire to listen to this.
In fact, my first purchase of artwork was from the
Innovative, graphic design, his name is David Carson. I bought a piece of artwork from him that he created back in the day, when this song hit radio, and it was in the day that cut and paste, or actually was scissors and glue and marketing was at its pre tech height. sidewalking. Jesus and Mary chain. that hangs on my wall and I’ll never let it go.
Pure evil and malevolence...there was a time when JAMC were the greatest band on the planet bar none...and lucky (old) me got to see them several times in their heyday...all the stories you hear are true....relentlessly aggressive and sure of their own superiority they were iconic and iconoclastic.
Agree. Saw them at the Holloway Rd gig, which had elements of Pop Art to it. The violence was like a Tom and Jerry cartoon. Maybe they played for 15 minutes. The Electric Ballroom was more like the Itchy and Scratchy Show. Darker. Still, a great band.
The best Not Hit Single of all times !
fuck mtv
Number 30 in the UK in April 1988. Here because it came into my head randomly just lately.
Heard John Peel play this back in tha day. He had the 1st radio airplay of it and as soon as it finished he just played it again! Saying something along the lines of "record of the year? It's going on again". I'd never heard him play the same track back to back before so he must have though it pretty special. Wish I could find a recording of him playing it with his commentary....superb. Needless to say I made a purchase as soon as it was released.
Dee Egginton i can upload it if you want to?
+pojk_tant PLEASE
Dee Egginton yeah I remember that. At least he didn't play it at the wrong speed. Classic tune👌
J&M CHAIN ARE DEFINITELY ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED BANDS OF ALL-TIME; MAYBE THE BEST BAND TO COME OUT OF SCOTLAND EVER!!!
He liked the Duane Eddy guitar
favourite Jesus & Mary Chain song :)
Mine too, went to see them tonight in Berlin, but they didn't play it, I told the brothers later
You can be 'anything you want' cool, but you'll never be JAMC cool ...
Very true
I saw them in concert around 1992 (?). They were great. A girl that came with us jumped on the stage (small venue) and grabbed the sunglasses off James Reid, the lead singer, and he was not happy. She gave them back.
I love this Tune.... absolutely lovely.
Simply the Greatest Record in the history of Rock Music ❤❤
Love the bass that sounds like a burr & the drum machine- so industrial and yet the whole song is pure rock _ magic
Sounds like Love & Rockets in the beginning. So many elements combined. Coolest blokes around.
I love bass, and they are my favorite band for heavy bass.
I remember this being the coolest thing ever...🎸🔊🎤😎
My favorite JAMC song. That groove doesn't quit. Better in hq of course
Great innovative band to hit middle 80's with, still have their albums and concert memories.
Industrial hip hop with signature distortion from the always inventive JAMC!!
a lot of skill from these bhoys fer kilbride! class act!
They are just so effortlessly cool 🕶️
All I can say is...Masterpiece!
These guys were just so fucking cool!! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶🎶🎤🍺💊🚬
The ubiquitous Marshall Amps
Hahaha... well what can I say but that I played this a lot when I was a kid. On vinyl. It's quite a weird but great song :)
A dirty song about vice... it's a great song. Definitely agree with you Sophia - weird and great song that is also cool :)
Sophia Adcock Hip Hop beats with dirty 50s Rock n Roll . A song about being teenage & Reckless. Played very loud
JAMC videos were my "We got horny to you" (the SNL song) I was around 16 at the time and a late bloomer that made it more acceptable. I mean "Far Gone and Out", irresitible AF. I loved the thinly veiled sexual references and my dad hated the f**k out of them and then I was sure I was out to something."Upside Down" is the song that I play for him and he just seemed horrified. Maybe it was a bit much by way of an introduction. Should have gone with Just Like Honey or even Cut Dead. I know this is unrelated with the previous post but what can you expect after smoking a lot of weed. This may not even be related to the thread and this is how I know this was good weed.
"And I got to get a call, and I got to get a ride, got to get a car, got Jesus by my side.... Sidewalking."
I like that they stayed cool instead of being commercial.
Un chef-d'œuvre, je l'écoute en boucle !
Perfect production by JohnLoder
as strummer said " i wear a motorcycle jacket..but im always walkin'>>>"
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!
Kinda like four Eddie Cochrans that were unfrozen and reactivated in the mid-1980s.
I loveeeeeee themmmm
Completely underrated Jesus and Mary Chain.
Dancing to this down The Pink tooth brush .
damm it, so heavy! love it
AmaZinG!
man these guys were great
Fav song by them
Thank you xm radio I never knew this song existed sad part is I'm an 80s fan and screw you fm radio for depriving me of good music
sadly you never had a PROGRESSIVE 99 in your neighborhood. Sad.
Radio? What’s that? If I listen to it an hour a week, I’d be surprised. Go to a used record store and buy what you find.
1:28 HEAD ON
Like the Ramones, The JAMC are only getting recognition so many years later........
They were big around the time of Honey's Dead........but then faded out a bit. Glad to see them back.
True
Streaptese music
Badass feed back distortion… one of their kind! No one beats them still to this day. I listened to this religiously as a young adult 🖤! Still love it.🖤
You're a genius. Thanks
sweet
The best!
Chilled to the bone and five miles to home
I'm messing in the dark and feeling all alone
I got ice in my fire got the heat in my wire
Inject a little heat I'm burning up the tyres
Sidewalking sidewalking sidewalking sidewalking
Talking like I'm on and I'm the only one
I'm making like I'm done and staring like a gun
And I gotta get a car and I gotta get a ride
Gotta get a car got jesus on my side
Sidewalking sidewalking sidewalking sidewalking
Messing in the dark and walking all alone
Alone in the streets I know just where I'm going
Sidewalking sidewalking
Chilled to the bone Chilled to the bone
Hot wired heat all the way home
Brilliant absolutely Brilliant..
Perfection.
WAAAAAAAAAAAA Thanks!!! I love this vid!! Just epic
oui, higher is always brighter :)
Sounds almost like a Primal Scream track.
Jamc made primal scream
This video is only available in PAL format, right? I want it so bad... I also want to buy their music video collection, but I'm in the US...PAL is good for me
在B面精选听到的。超喜欢这首。没想到还有MV^_^
i like the "up rock shure shot, never stiop the body rock! up rockin!!" genius rip!,turn the tempo down a little! fuckin awesome guys!!!
FAB !
ITS JUST HORNINESS IDK WHY EVERYONE GETS SO MAD...JEEZ...
SAD WALKEN
The one was covered in pimples, like gross yellow pimples in the Smash Hits back in the day. Luckily they RAWK!!! ;)
Because pavement walking sounded stupid.
I miss the feedback and distortion that used to be their signature sound. Seems nobody wants that today.
More feedback to the masses.
They done one album with feedback 35 years ago. If they kept doing that people would have became bored. Besides this single is from 1988.
Their sound evolved as much as the people wanted psychocandy 2, Jim and William would’ve got bored
I always thought this sounded like Love and Rockets.
Pretty sure these guys were first, so you have that backwards.
Yeah, I agree. They were certainly a lot of overlap with the equipment then.
What does sidewalking mean?

...WTF. MARRIED TO JIMMY PAGE. Robert plant & NEIL YOUNG!?!
