I have the original Grizzlor but this one is awesome too! Looks just like the cartoon version. They did a good job on the face sculpt. And the lack of fur doesn't bother me. It's awesome!
Hard 2 believe that was an actual motuc release.... I mean it looks exactly like the vintage but taller, just not the quality we come to expect from such a superior toyline

They need to seriously STEP UP their game. I honestly don't know what to say, what can they do to make this right?
Hey Dan I'm glad to see you still plugging these reviews of the Masters figures, this is probably the first Super Seven figure I've been impressed with, as my collection is geared toward the old Classics line he wouldn't fit in. I was thinking about trying to pick the classics one but his furs a little to fuzzy looking for me, he needs a hair dresser.
He does look good in the respect that he looks like the animated version, but for me, Grizzlor just isn't quite as cool without the fur. That being said, this guy is probably one of the most accurate to the cartoon so far.
grizzlor a great detailed figure from four horsemen super 7. the down fall is the shield when I put the shield in his hand it broke of to brittle plastic.great review dan.

I have to wonder if the paint they use to make a lot of the "flat" colored Filmation stuff needs a clear coat of some sort applied over it. It almost feels like the nature of the paint needed to get that look is inherently fragile.
Don't put any weapons in Grizzlor's hands, due to those sharp nails, they scratch the paint on the weapons. Besides that shield goes to Hordak, as he used that in the Filmation series against Skeletor.
Most likely the baton and the shield were made in the same mold at the same time to save on tooling costs. In fact, the whole wave's weapons may have been made within the same tooling.
Paints problems? His nails scraped paint? I feel that to some extent the toy industry and its quality controls are going back 40 years. Super 7 has the advantage.
Honestly, I think at least part of the issue is that the expected standard of quality from many consumers (especially in the collector market) has actually gone up. Paint errors, weak joints etc. weren't exactly uncommon in the vintage toys I remember from my childhood, but since they were marketed to kids, it wasn't really a big issue at the time. I certainly didn't care as a kid.
I actually think that the original MOTU toys had a pretty good quality compared to the current figures. Sure, they didn't have many points of articulation, but they had great action features and I remember them feeling very sturdy
Yeah, but that's partially my point. The original MOTU figures were incredibly simple and basic in comparison to what's expected out of a modern action figure, and still they had their share of weak points and breakage issues (the rubber bands in the legs, the tabs on some of the armor etc.). On top of that, adjusted for inflation they cost the equivalent of around $10.00 in today's money.
I'm sorry to say that it's not very good. The fur looks more like he's some kind of chocolate man monster. I would never get him personally. If I could say some good about it it's the paws. Those are cool.
Somehow it looks cheap and boring. I think they should have done the harness as a separate piece and given the fur a better sculpt (also its colour could be more rich). The shield an d the paws are cool.
thefatman69fude i generally like the Filmation figures, for example I prefer Filmation Skeletor over Classics. But Grizzlor will always have to be furry for me. As I my connection to the character is fully based on the vintage toy. But that’s exactky the point of Classics and this is exactly the point of Filmation, so both are great in their own right.

I like the newer one better. The fur on the original is out of control. This character works better in the Filmation style.

Well that really took a while for them to ship the figures to your place. But nice review overall.

I think I like the plastic fur though.
My Grizzlor Isn't sticky, He came in nice.. I did however scrape paint off on the shield..

I wasn't very excited for this figure so I haven't even bothered opening him from the box.
