- Interview portions from this incredible 1988 MuchMusic special. Unfortunately we had to remove the performance pieces else the video would not have been able to be posted for copyright reasons. Most of these clips are from Leonard's many MuchMusic appearances, and a reminder of what an amazing channel it was, once upon a time...
Retrontario’s primary mission is the preservation, research and exhibition of rare videotape recordings (1970s to 1990s) recorded off of any and all Ontario (and surrounding area) TV channels; footage which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. We also hope to create an ongoing oral history of this content through comments left below the videos. Please add to this evolving history, if you know more information pertaining to the clips, fondly remember them or have a modern thought all comments are welcome! For more information on how to help in our mission please visit us at: www.retrontario.com
299 Queen Street east...oh wow, the memories and the Cohen! This is classic 80's and I am loving this! Hallelujah Amen!
He is giggling up there in the tower of song, i met him once back in the UK 1978 & what a humble guy he was.
He is my soulmate!
Legend.
Forever
WOW ! What a beautiful deep voice and hot,handsome man !! 😍😍
Great find!
I do not have many role models or father figures but this guy at least seems worthy.
My parents saw him and had a couple of his books of poetry I also enjoyed but Canadian arts and culture may have changed or disappeared since then unfortunately. It's sub culture again to enjoy such things as poetry.
@annalisavajda252 totally agree with you
Everybody knows 🎵
I see this guy.. and I see Anthony Bourdain... WTF ??
They were both from the Jewish race.
French Jews are always so cool
He spoke french but he wasn't a French jew
@@citizentuck he was ashkenazi not sephardic. i find him quite french in demeanour.
There is nothing French about Leonard Cohen. The closest he came was to be influenced by Quebecois culture.
He’s ann Ashkenazi Jew from Montreal. Hence his French language skills.
*an
He seemed a bit self absorbed but then again the whole generation did. 🤷🏼♂️
well I mean he was the one getting interviewed, not the other way around lol
@@lukefrees 🤣
Do you understand the concept of interviewing someone about their work and views?
