This is what love looks like. I love this episode. I would not be thinking divorce when I have been with someone for 51 years. I hope they stay together for another 50 years. They are too cute and he truly loves her.
The episode was much needed. It was a good reality check. Not because a couple together for 20+ years means that they are happy years! I also hope men look at this episode to see how valuable women are. Women need to look at this episode and stop trying to raise grown men like their children.

She tired of feeling like a piece of reliable furniture to him. He comes home she is there, foods cooked, house clean, clothes cleaned and put away. He probably doesnt have to ask fpr a single thing because she already knows what needed and handles it.
He has forgotten that he must love on her how she likes. Just because she is reliable doesn't make her unworthy of demanding attention and love in her own language.
Marriage is also about becoming comfortable just like it's also about having spontaneity... There needs to be a balance...
Mr Perry gives her PLENTY attention but she's just making a fuss over hardly nothing being unreasonable/unsatisfied... I once had a girlfriend who I could spend 24 hours with doing whatever she likes but she would be like well you didn't spend 25 hours with me so it's not enough... This episode was a Gem, brought tears to my eyes, fond memories of being happy with in a loving home raised by two fabulous parents who took me under their wings for which I'll be eternally grateful.
My adopted parents was married for 55 years. My mother passed in April 2023 aged 91 & dad passed 2015 aged 85. Miss them dearly, seeing this lovely couple reminds me of them..
Both had Gsoh & family came first, Dad never had a midlife crisis thank god & mom got on with life, 😊❤
Their relationship was strong to the end..

I think that they should stay together. Because they really love each other deep down. She just did not know how to make him understand that she wanted his attention. I am shocked that she would even consider a divorce let alone breaking up their huge family that they both share together for 53 years. I think they both need to try and remember what brought them together in the beginning. I went through something similar with my husband. He's older than I by 25 years, but he was still the "young one". Towards the end, he got a little wild, and I went a little crazy. Therapist said both cases were because he was reaching the end of his time, and we both knew it on some level. He was right.
If she meet him at 16, she has a right to be on her on terms. Live life taking care of yourself. He’s got his dream; get yours.
After being married for 23years and losing my husband to cancer in 2022 during Christmas broke me. This couple just suffered from a case of being stuck in their ways and not willing to change. It happens when you are together for so long. Change is hard for a lot of people. I would give anything to be able to experience my husband's love again. Work it out life is too short family ❤.

I disagree on how Judge Starr is making it like he's wrong. But, she just said that she's restricted. So, if he took her anywhere she wouldn't want to walk or do anything. She seems to be set in her ways and like he said, they are of age to now enjoy life without any kids and their life should be enjoyable with trips, concerts, movies, dinners etc. it just seems to be all on him.
I wonder who expended the most energy throughout the years of raising the family. There may be a reason why one is more tired than the other.
@@sereneamani1713 I've raised a lot of kids with my two and grown folks too, and now at 60, my life is my life and I'm going to enjoy it to the fullest. I'm single bc I no longer wants to cook and clean behind anyone anymore. I started washing dishes at 10 and been doing up until a yr ago. Everything was put on me and everyone is now shocked that I have set boundaries and no longer run to them, nor do I no longer cook for holidays unless I want to. Ppl can come ungrateful and feel entitled. So, I understand what he is saying. I never knew what out the country looked like nor traveling past Dallas. But, now I do. I've been to Dominican Republic Mexico on a cruise and now I'm getting ready to head to the Bahamas. All I ever knew was traveling to my hometown in the country, H-town, but now I'm reaching for better places and seeing things and places my mama nor my daddy got to see before they left this earth.

The "pants" statement made me cry.
Years of being married does not mean years of a happy marriage. Her physical needs are not being considered. His consideration is all about himself.
In addition, his wife has been depended on for so long for everything by everybody that she's tired. She tired, physically, mentally, and spiritually. You can look at her and tell she worn and very unhappy. But more than that she fills used. While he plays in his junk room and when he's not doing that he's out in his convertible roaming the streets trying to feel young again and at the bar and pool room shooting pool. Like a user he doesn't mind leaving everything on her. He proves his deliberate and unnecessary dependency when he said he doesn't know what size he wears he will have to call and ask her.
While others are wowed by the 51 years of marriage, it's irrelevant to his wife when she's terribly, she's physically in pain, and she's tired of living with his junkiness - who wouldn't be?
He says she's his number one. This can mean he has a number two, a side chick, hence the convertible, the consistent disappearing acts, and refusing to answer his phone calls from hers for hours of his disappearing acts.
He's needs to grow up, stop being child-like and clean up his mess, and start catering to her needs - treating her like she's his wife whose needs have changed.
I agree that she needs to be happy. Life is to short for her to continue to be unhappy. In this case, don't let 51 years of marriage turn into 52 years of marriage.

@@d820m Actually, the issue isn't the hobbies per se. I also do not believe the answer for her is finding a hobby. I'm not sold on the fact that he's playing pool solo and he's riding around in a convertible for hours solo. I don't believe all the right questions were asked.
Not for one minute do I think this man’s interest is his wife. Why? Because nothing he has done was in consideration of her. He showed no interest. But, I do believe he was considering somebody, it just wasn't her.
He goes and shop for a car by himself, then buys the car he knew she would not want to ride in because the car was low riding and the seats design didn't accommodate certain body types like hers. For example, a person who has problems with her knees find it difficult and painful to get out of a low riding car. To get out will require your body weight to be placed on your knees to push yourself up and forward. Ouch! That's very painful. The way the seats are designed will begin causing her back pain after a while. Ouch, again.
Now, he knows if he buys this convertible he doesn't have to worry about his wife ever wanting to accompany him in the car. He can ride in his car with the person it was considered for from the beginning - and we know it wasn't his wife. And, the testimony reveals he goes “riding” for hours.
He also loves to go shoot pool. The testimony reveals he does that for hours. I don't believe he spends all these hours shooting pool by himself. Nor do I believe any friends he has are spending this much time daily and weekly shooting pool with him. Of course, Im sure he’s shooting pool on the regular with someone. I wonder who?
Then he has the room he uses for gaming and has junked up so horribly that his wife gets exacerbated and just keep the door close.
They also sleep in two separate rooms.
When I look at just these few things that were revealed, I can bet you that the marriage is dead. It's not about a couple that can't decide on what hobbies to do.
I see a women who is empty, unhappy, lonely, depressed, depended on by everyone to do everything and is taken for granted. She know it, now. Even though the husband said her loves his wife, Im not convinced. I did not hear one thing he did that indicated love existed. At the most, she was a mode of convenience for him and their children. Divorce would disrupt the conveniences the husband has enjoyed for 51 years. In other words, since she was 18 yo she's been catering to him. Since he was 20 yo he has been catered to.
I can guarantee you, she may not have filed for divorce right then, but they will divorce if she doesn't die from depression, loneliness, exhaustion, and a broken heart. Or, maybe if she doesn't divorce its because they guilt her into not “destroying” the family. Nevermind her state of destruction.
I just know, if it were me I would have been at an attorney’s office instead of Divorce Court. 😊 Just sayin’.

Just remember that song was sung by one of my favorite singers, Bobby Womack, who died broke and addicted. The husband has signs of dementia, but he realizes he needs his wife (there is a reason for his belief).
On a lighter note not sure if the songwriters’ bio is relevant but as a married woman I can see a tug of war between them, each has to compromise. She seems very unwilling.

She may feel left out but she’s not doing anything to help the relationship either. He needs to be more focused and romantic with her. But he probably distance himself from her because she just doesn’t like to do anything and just live up a little. They can fix this I have faith in them.

Time is not a measure of quality. This lady is miserable and this man isn’t paying her no mind. He doesn’t keep promises. He can’t plan a trip or celebrate milestones.
He’s disappears and doesn’t answer his phone. He doesn’t take her out it seems like he has a Camaro and doesn’t want to be seen with an old lady. He’s at family events but he’s not really present.

I once had a girlfriend who I could spend 24 hours with doing whatever she likes but she would be like well you didn't spend 25 hours with me so it's not enough... There are MANY people in this world like that and I think Miss Perry is one of them...lol
🙄 Only a woman would get mad at their husband for spending time with his grandkids and being able to connect with them in ways the grandkids enjoy, they probably LOVE that their grandpa plays video games with them...smh
I don’t think she meant it like that with the video games. I think she was just trying to imply he was “too old” to be playing video games saying that’s something her grandkids do but I do agree she probably being too greedy for attention.
@@Versiongurl ABSOLUTELY and I agree but even if she meant it as if he's "too old" to be playing video games that's still a terrible thing to say if it's something he enjoys doing... Nothing wrong with video games it's just an entertainment outlet like anything else... I'll bet she wouldn't like it if he wanted to restrict her on an activity she likes doing in her free time...lol
