That Dimebag's last note gives me chills to my soul to this day, and jerks some tears from time to time. It's haunting. Plus paired with Phil's voice... it's simply a masterpiece.
Funny this comment, it was like 2 hours ago I was sain the Dimebags riffs hit me different, like strong and heavy words not just plain instrumental sound, they carry so much more for me...
The answer to life, the universe and everything is 42. I am not going to thumbs up this now, because there are 42 thumbs at present. No doubt, I agree with This Love as a killer pick to react to. Also agree to check out the full version of this! The intro sets the mood for all that follows and you heard. Keep on with the great reactions, guys! 🤘
Vinnie Paul, the drummer (and Dime’s brother) passed away in 2018 😢 Surprisingly, Phil Anselmo said the vocal he had the hardest time with wasn’t the scream at the end... it was the “as the memories now unfold” part... he said in an interview he got so angry and frustrated that he broke a chair 😆 Great song, though!
It's funny you called it "Groove Metal". The band usually labeled themselves "Power Groove" time and time again. This is my 3rd video from you guys. I gotta subscribe now, you guys are pretty cool
This was the song that made me fall in love with this band! My friend had played it at a party in 1990, the year I graduated high school and I was hooked!!! I saw them live 5 times I believe. Even had the honor of meeting Dimebag and the bassist Rex. Amazing guys!! Dime is so badly missed!! As is Vinnie, his brother and drummer....
This reaction had me smiling so big.... I really enjoy watching y'all discover and love the music i grew up listening to and loving...KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK
How many years of reaction channels getting short changed will it take for Pantera fans to realize their is a *full 7 minute music video* of This song on some site called UA-cam??
You guys wanna see an amazing live performance. Check out Pantera play Domination in Moscow 1991. They played along with Metallica and ACDC. It was most likely the biggest Rock concert in History.
The Sleep by Pantera has arguably Dimebags best solo. Floods is another deep cut. Try Revolution is My Name or 13 Steps to Nowhere, Great Southern Trendkill or Shedding Skin 🤘🏼
Glad that you guys liked this one but as many have already pointed out, this version cut out the beginning of the song, which is a real shame. Give the album version a listen and you'll see what we mean.
Man every time I hear this song it reminds me of what true talent looks like. Such a well composed song with all parts done to perfection. Truly one of the best rock songs of all time. And probably one of the best songs period.
My favorite part of this song: Dimebag's solo. It doesn't just sound good, it fucking FEELS good. Music rarely gives me goosebumps. This does, every time.
Oh my goodness your faces when they hit those notes bahahaha EPIC !!! I know pantera very well, (I’m Old lol) so of course I knew it was coming… but that’s the beauty of these reactions!! I’m always so excited to see new people discover some Kick A$$ music, keep the vids coming!!! 🤘💗🤘😎
As far as a song suggestion, psycho holiday, a new level, the hollow, heresy, 5 minutes alone are all great. Those are just a few to start y'all off. Keep up the great work!
Ahh cemetery gates. Listen to that in 2022... I saw my teenagers years, my old purple Sony walkman, can picture my highschool again..etc. Pantera bring back memory for me 🤟 tx a lot from Québec Canada 🇨🇦
Guys, what he's using there to hit those notes is what's known as the Digitech Whammy pedal. It''s arguably one of the most epic guitar petals ever made. I had one when I was 15ish, and it changed my life.
From the Tales From the Crypt movie soundtrack. Excellent live band. Got to meet Dimebag backstage and he was awesome! So into the fans and very appreciative. Gave all of us huge hugs and signed whatever you put in front of him and absolutely loved it! RIP Dime!!
This Love is my favorite Pantera song, followed by Hollow. After that, Cemetary Gates. Their first 3 albums were impossibly good, and their entire discography is worth listening to. So much talent. The drummer, Vinnie Paul, was Dimebag's brother and he, too, has passed away. I remember in high school (9th grade I think) is when Dimebag died, me and my homies built an altar for him at the school. Some kids came and broke it but it was nice to be able to honor him.
The end of this song gives me chills everytime I hear it. Check out all the great ones from Pantera. Primal Concrete Sledge 5 Minutes Alone Rise Piss Domination Revolution Is My Name Cowboys From Hell Drag The Waters Becoming
It tickles me so much to watch people and listen to people listen to what I have been listening to all of my life and finding joy in the same things that I find welcome you are now here
I just came across your guys' Sabbath War Pigs video, which brought me to this one, I love music reaction videos, just subbed :) you guys are great! Tony Iommi and Dimebag Darrell are pretty much tied as my biggest influences as a guitarist. You could probably guess from my profile picture...although I actually got that guitar a year or so before I started listening to Pantera, I just loved the shape of that guitar so much, and was blown away that I found a left handed one those years ago, I feel so lucky being a lefty guitarist! Not the same balanced guitar upside-down :/ When I started listening to Pantera, I was like, hey sweet, that incredible guitarist has the same guitar I have! Haha! Anyway, I wanted to throw a few suggestions in the bucket as a big fan of both these bands, songs I don't expect most people to suggest :) if you've already done these, my bad, I just found you guys. Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath Black Sabbath - Supernaut (Ministry - Supernaut cover) Black Sabbath - Sabbra Cadabra (Metallica - Sabbra Cadabra cover) Pantera - War Nerve Pantera - By Demons Be Driven Pantera - Slaughtered Pantera - Yesterday Don't Mean Shit Pantera - Where You Come From I assume a lot of people will suggest 5 Minutes Alone and Drag the Waters, those are my two favorite 'popular' Pantera songs :) ...also, as a bonus, Pantera does truly phenomenal covers of two more of my most favorite Sabbath songs, Hole in the Sky, and, not only one of my favorite Sabbath songs, or favorite songs in metal, one of my most loved pieces of music ever, the spiritual trip that is Planet Caravan! If you decide to cover these, you should totally do a video for each song, with both versions: watching the original Sabbath version first, then see what Pantera did with it right after :) I do highly suggest listening to the Sabbath ones first, then you'll know where Pantera took creative liberty. ...extra bonus, if you dig Planet Caravan, then listen to Solitude, also by Black Sabbath. For the same reasons as Planet Caravan, it's one of my most beloved songs in all of music, it's deeply beautiful and perfectly what it is. Sabbath's Changes is another deep slow, non-metal song, more of a ballad, but still very special, it'll make you feel :) keep up the great work guys, I'm done rambling and nerding out about two of my most favorite bands :P
Crazy to me that people think of this as old school now. This was the shit in my teens, still popular and on the radio, now you can't hear this kind of shit anywhere. You will never hear another note like phil hit at the end, that was otherwordly. Phil himself couldn't hit that now, but my god, what a song. I'm in my 40's and this shit still hits the same for me.
"Their 'popular' stuff" LOL! Smokey my friend..all of their stuff is popular! And I see that you have done Domination too so.. I'm sooo excited! And I take back what I said about the Walk video. You're showing Pantera some love. Now let's keep it going with A New Level, Cowboys From Hell, Floods, 5 Minutes Alone, Planet Caravan (a Black Sabbath cover btw) Mouth For War, to name a few. Thanks guys! Great video! Now I'm goin' in for some Domination! Getcha Pull!🤘
The guitarist Dimebag Darrell and drummer Vinnie Paul are brothers. Both are deceased. After PanterA, they formed a band called Damageplan. On December 8, 2004 at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio, Dimebag was shot to death on stage by a lunatic fan. All of this happened right in front of his brother Vinnie Paul. Vinnie Paul passed away on June 22, 2018.
You guys are gradually getting into heavier music so it’s time to give the band Overkill some love.Check out Elimination,Gasoline Dream or Feel the fire.Think you guys will dig them.
You should do Psycho holiday by pantera next, has a killer groove, quick note about the music video, its shorter than the original song and it has an amazing intro
Hey love you guys, new fan here- I just thought it was cool how bro just spontaneously called Pantera groove metal talking about the drums/guitar.. That's exactly one thing that always separated them from other metal or thrash or whatever bands of that time to me was that Vinnie was laying down more hardass Funk than anything. Very non-traditional metal drumming..along with his brothers unique style..yeah, man. Magic.✌️👽
yeah man im blessed my first time hearing tjis was album version full length and man i was baked and wrnt into a complete journey into a nostalgic moment in my life of the 90s man
That ending, that's what the Leo fender invented the tremolo system for. That's exactly what an electric guitar is meant to sound like. This song alone is the reason I put a FR on my strat.
Thats what i luv on these reaction videos, even thought i have heard many of these songs multiple times.. there is always something new to learn while others listen, they notice things you have not spotted earlier.
Such a great song. Brings back memories. Pantera have a lot of Awesome music. You 2 should check out. The Art of Shredding, Floods, Domination, This Love, 5Minutes Alone, I'm Broken & my Absolute favorite their cover of Planet Caravan These would all be great reactions guys!
Y'all gonna make me go listen to your whole Playlist. Lol. I see you're both wrestling fans. You both mention hearing "Walk" before you did a reason to it. Not surprising you recognize it. Rob Van Dam used it as his ring entrance music in ECW. Good shit in these reactions. Can't wait to dig into your other videos
That's funny you should say this is music that could be heard At 50 years and be appreciated when we are at this moment at more than 30 years. Good call👍
PANTERA Live In Russia 91 , 1mill ppl, 50+deaths an Pantera caused A Riot.. Metallica an AC/DC .. Played after CROWD Went CRAZY. Dime play's the best brake down EVER . RIP
The best guitar solo ever recorded to this day is on Judas Priests "Painkiller". If you like it oldschool there is *nothing* that's more pure metal than that song. If you wanna stay on the Pantera track, try Cowboys from Hell 👍
DOMINATION live in Moscow. 1,600,000 in attendance, one of the baddest solos you'll ever see, one of the baddest song breakdowns of all time. Hell I get tired watching their energy in this video so buckle your safety belts cuz it's a ride.
My favorite metal band of all time, and its not even close. The amount of talent they had in their prime is an amount of talent i don't think will be seen again personally. Dimebag Darrell was one of the best guitarists I've ever heard, his riffs made you want to break shit, go crazy, but the riffs are so groovey as well. Rex Brown on bass, and Vinnie on drums, were the glue of the band. But what made them so damn good in my opinion was the voice of Phil Anselmo. He could go full on metal, but he also had this beautiful Vibrato as well for being 51 years old he still sounds great.
Any Pantera Song is great. My recommendations though would be Domination for an Adrenaline Rush (make sure its the live version from Monsters of Rock 91 in Moscow), The Sleep for an amazing guitar Solo, or I'm Broken for Aggression. Pantera faa-LIFEEE because Pantera is 2 SWEEEET \m/
The guitar player dimebag Darrell and Vinny Paul the drummer were brothers.. they literally grew up jamming together. They could almost read each other's minds they were so good. But they are both no longer with us. Dime was murdered on stage while playing guitar and his brother Vinny Paul died from a massive heart attack 10 years after watching Dime get shot in the head 3 times by some crazy nobody trying to make a name for himself.
That back and forth between the vocals and guitar is straight from Led Zeppelin. Robert Plant and Jimmy Page were two halves of the same legend on stage!
This breaks my heart, find vh1 on Pantera, the singer and bass player were hard on heroin, so Dave and his brother the drummer started a new band, DAMAGE INC, at a show in Ohio, an ex marine shot Dave 3 times on stage before they played, a roadie grabbed him, he also got shot, finally the shooter was killed, and his brother passed away a few years ago, the band was amazing, down to earth, please watch the vh1 about them You guys are great
Great review guys , the drummer is vinnie paul , older brother of dimebag darrell . He co founded pantera along with two other bands damageplan and also hellyeah ! He was fantastic , sadly he recently passed away in june of 18 ,R.I.P vinnie and dimebag two amazing musicians
Some of their other greats: This Love (awesome guitar solo), Cowboys From Hell, Domination (Live in Moscow), Hollow and Floods (another great Dime solo)
This version actually skips like 2 minutes worth of the full song. The intro is definitely worth the listen.
The full song is worth the listen! The beginning makes the song more epic for sure
@Johnny Mack you're a tardbaby
@Johnny Mack could you tone down your edginess? it's cringeworthy as fuck.
Rex Brown playing 12 string with Dime soloing over. It's fucking crucial
The ending too
First: The drummer is Vinnie Paul, Dimebag's older brother. Second, he also passed on in 2018 from heart failure. RIP
Thanks you. RIP
Vinnie did continue on to join with HellYeah. Worth the watch 😈
@@sandracunningham8908 HELLYEAH are awesome,

That Dimebag's last note gives me chills to my soul to this day, and jerks some tears from time to time. It's haunting. Plus paired with Phil's voice... it's simply a masterpiece.
PanterA has Two singers. One of them just happened to sing with his Guitar.
And Rex Brown....
Dime was a god on the guitar
4 singers
Funny this comment, it was like 2 hours ago I was sain the Dimebags riffs hit me different, like strong and heavy words not just plain instrumental sound, they carry so much more for me...
And if you continue with Pantera;
" This Love "

Shattered, heavily underrated when it comes to Phil's vocals
I'd say 5 Minutes Alone is a must listen.
I agree

Vinnie Paul, the drummer (and Dime’s brother) passed away in 2018 😢 Surprisingly, Phil Anselmo said the vocal he had the hardest time with wasn’t the scream at the end... it was the “as the memories now unfold” part... he said in an interview he got so angry and frustrated that he broke a chair 😆 Great song, though!

Dimebag was on another level of pure talent. I was lucky enough to see Pantera, and each time it was like wth watching Dimebag play. RIP
The whole Far beyond Driven album is the grooviest bluesiest metal you'll ever hear.

100% agreed! The song isn't much, but the solos made me fucking cry!
Shedding Skin is just amazing.
Glad that you guys liked this one but as many have already pointed out, this version cut out the beginning of the song, which is a real shame. Give the album version a listen and you'll see what we mean.

My favorite part of this song: Dimebag's solo. It doesn't just sound good, it fucking FEELS good. Music rarely gives me goosebumps. This does, every time.
One of the bitter sweet things about aging... I got to see so many great bands in their prime. Pantera was bananas live.

They formed in 1981. They started as a glam rock band
That back and forth between the vocals and guitar is straight from Led Zeppelin. Robert Plant and Jimmy Page were two halves of the same legend on stage!
This breaks my heart, find vh1 on Pantera, the singer and bass player were hard on heroin, so Dave and his brother the drummer started a new band, DAMAGE INC, at a show in Ohio, an ex marine shot Dave 3 times on stage before they played, a roadie grabbed him, he also got shot, finally the shooter was killed, and his brother passed away a few years ago, the band was amazing, down to earth, please watch the vh1 about them
You guys are great
Great review guys , the drummer is vinnie paul , older brother of dimebag darrell .
